CHRISTMAS AT THE KRUM FAMILY HOUSE WAS always something of a spectacle. It was loud, colourful and fast-paced. Ana was used to it by now, lapping up the attention as songs were sung and gifts were exchanged. She kicked around her new football, bouncing it off the front garden wall until it became wedged in the snow. She ate food until she thought she might be physically sick, and annoyed her little sister and older brother mercilessly. By the end of it all, Ana usually crashed in to bed for a 12 hour sleep, but not before bickering with her sister a little more.
"Hey!" Ana called, barrelling down the hallway with her Appleby Arrows scarf wrapped tightly around her neck, she stopped at her little sister's bedroom door. Inside, Ana narrowed her eyes playfully at Helena. "Did you take my ball?" She didn't truly suspect her sister, but after battering it against their opposing walls for a good half hour that morning, Ana couldn't be too sure her sister hadn't took vengeance. "I can't find it and somebody's been in my room." She entered her sister's straight after that, throwing herself on her twin bed and stretching out lazily. "Your bed's well lumpy."

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] WE'RE ALL JUST PLAYING A GAME IN A WAY [attr="class","next"] DECEMBER 25, 2024 Christmas had come and already started to trickle away with the time. The gift exchanged had gone over without a hitch, and it seemed that everyone had enjoyed their gifts, including Helena herself. After they ate and exchanged their gifts, each person disappeared to enjoy their new gift. From inside, Helena watched her sister play with her new ball outside in the snow, interested in what the sporty older girl was up to before going back to help prepare dinner. By the time everything was said and done, she disappeared up into her room and sat down on the floor, messing with her new mini-piano, hitting different keys and singing them at the same time. It was then, just as she was cleaning up that she heard her sister speaking from her doorway and she snapped her head up. She frowned deeply, “Your ball?” she questioned softly, confused at first as she watched her sister slowly enter, saying that she couldn’t find it and that someone had been in her room. Of course, she threw herself down upon her plush bed and commenting on it being lumpy; she rolled her eyes, “If my bed is lumpy, then what the hell would you say about Hogwarts’ beds?” she questioned before slowly standing and putting her keyboard away, “And no—I did not take your ball. Though I should have, you hit it against the wall so much today I almost lost my mind…I wouldn’t be surprised if someone else did.”

IT WAS TRUE, THE BEDS AT HOGWARTS LEFT A little something to be desired. But, that didn't stop Ana from poking fun at her sister. She jostled on the bed some more, using her feet to bounce her body across her little sisters lumpy mattress. Helena did not appear impressed. Ana had apparently interrupted her concert for one. "I mean," Ana said, staring at a stain on the ceiling above as she cushioned her head with her arm. "I'm barely in bed at Hogwarts." Which was true, Ana was full of restless energy.
"You better not have," Ana groused, sitting up on the bed and glaring at Helena's back. She had been a bit over the top with the ball, but it was Christmas. It was the only time one had a perfectly good excuse for using their toys. "If I find out you had anything to do with it..." She searched her room, eyes narrowed with purpose. Before finally, they settled on the keyboard Helena was loving putting away. "Your keyboard might go for a walk-about."
And then she draw in a sharp breath, which was a warning for those around that Ana was going to go on a rant. "Speaking of, actually!" And she launched herself from the bed, pacing Helena's small bedroom and nosing at various trinkets. "You think I'm bad, but you make a right racket with that keyboard." She jutted her chin towards it. Her sister was a born performer and while it didn't bother Ana - unless she was trying to nap - it was just about as bad as a bouncing call, she reckoned. "So don't point the finger at me."

YOU LOOK GREATEST WHEN YOU FEEL LIKE A DAMN QUEEN ALL JUST PLAYING A GAME IN A WAY, TRYING TO WIN AT LIFE
Ana started jostling around upon Helena's bed, and she wanted to comment on that being the reason it was so lumpy. Anytime her older sister entered the room, she played quidditch with the damn mattress, leaving Helena to deal with the consequences. Luckily, she was used to the beds of Hogwarts, so this was a step up from those things. 'I mean, I'm barely in bed at Hogwarts,' Helena laughed at her sister's words, "What do you sleep on your broom?" she questioned, somewhat joking. Ana practically lived on her broomstick, something that scared the hell out of Helena. But that was because of bad memories, a story for another day.
Helena froze a few seconds later, the amusement that was on her face from her previous words to her sister about her sleeping habits, lost from her. She turned towards her sister, narrowing her eyes, "You wouldn't dare..." she practically hissed out, though she was much less frightening than her elder sister. Helena was a little lamb in comparison to the lion that Ana was. They were completely different, on opposite ends of the personality spectrum, and it showed. Ana was more like how Gryffindors were described; it was still a surprise that she had not made it into that house.
And then, her glaring disappeared as Ana sighed, a sigh that meant one thing. A rant was coming. She mentally prepared herself and slowly rose to her feet, throwing herself into the plush chair that was seated in her room, pushing her feet beneath her as if she were meditating and preparing herself for the storm that was Iliana Krum.
'Speaking of, actually! You think I'm bad, but you make a right racket with that keyboard. So don't point the finger at me.' Helena's mouth was agape, unsure how to respond to her sister as she pushed herself to her feet and began exploring the room. Helena remained where she was, a slow frown appearing on my lips. "Me? Oh no. You and I both know that the moment I get told to turn it down, my headphones go in or I stop for the night. You could play with whatever it is that catches your fancy that day until the roasters screamed for everyone else to wake up..." she said, her voice loud and so unlike her, as if Ana had unleashed a beast from within the humble and quiet mouse.
She took a deep breath, shaking her head and brushing her fingers against her cheek to remove the strands of hair that got in her eye. "I don't have it, I promise..." @iliana

SHOOTING HER SISTER A HAUGHTY LOOK ANA made a point of laughing falsely, her mouth pulled in to a sneer. "No." She grumbled after a second, rolling her eyes skyward. "Some of us have social lives." Which was a bit rude of her, but Helena had a way of making Ana feel like a dumb old troll. Ana didn't always think about sports... Just, most of the time. She crossed her arms as she bounced up and began to pace the room.
"Ha!" Ana barked, barely allowing Helena to finish her defence before she barrelled back in, taking a challenging step closer. "That's if you even hear us!" Ana knew that her parents were far more accepting of her sporting desires than musical, seeing as they were both so found of Quidditch. But, Ana had fielded just as much disapproval for her love of football above all else. She was taking a bloody Arithmancy class because her mum was so sure she was 'meant for bigger and better things'. "Playing piano is much worse than bouncing a bloody ball." She gestured passionately with her arms, fully yelling at her sister now.
"Where is it?!" She demanded all at once, bending at the waist to almost get in her sisters face. "Now I know you've taken it." She narrowed her eyes before turning and getting down on her hands and knees, pulling Helena's sheet up to look under her bed. Nothing but dusty old books and paper keeping the dust bunnies company. She dropped the sheet and began feeling under the mattress, her fingers brushing along the length of what felt like a notebook. Her fingers paused, but she didn't pull it free. Was that... her sisters diary? She pulled her hand free before Helena could force her. "Give it back." She said, but she was distracted now, thinking about that long, rectangular shape hidden from view.

'No. Some of us have social lives.' That one could have stung if Helena wasn't used to hearing it. She didn't have much of social life, mostly because she kept to herself. She was shy, but that didn't mean she was someone that didn't like to hold a conversation with someone. She did hang out, but she wasn't as much of a social butterfly as her older sister was. "Good for you," she muttered to herself, playing with the bottom of her shirt that she was wearing, looking down at the floor.
And then, shit hit the fan and Ana was practically yelling at her. Almost as if she had exploded under the pressure that Helena had placed upon her. And her defense leads her sister to believe that she took the ball. Didn't she promise that she hadn't!? "I DON'T HAVE IT!" she screamed at her sister, watching as the brunette started to look around under the bed before moving to feel the mattress. The moment her hand went under, she gasped and lurched into action to stop her from finding the diary that laid underneath.
"Stop! I don't have it!" she cried, luckily her sister pulled back from her search under the mattress and looked at her expectantly. "I told you, I don't have it, Ana. As much as I hate the noise that it makes...I didn't take it. Maybe if you clean your room once in a while, you wouldn't lose shit!" she exclaimed, cursing for the first time in public. She usually cursed in her head; it very rarely came out through her lips.
