The Apothecary smelled quite bad if you asked Hope, she was just looking for a certain ingredient to use in an antidote against the poison of a plant. But so far she had been unable to find one, however if she didn’t find what she was looking for here, maybe just maybe she might contact Neville Longbottom. If anyone had the ingredient it would be that man, and he would have a fresh supply of it to, not this dumb dried out stuff. After coughing a little bit as she walked by some rather pungent plants and what looked like fresh rat spleens.
Hope walked through the aisles scanning all of the various plants and other ingredients that were needed for other potions and the like, everything except for what she needed. She let out a frustrated sigh, as she saw the shop owner smirking at her and that just made her mad. Apparently the shop owner wanted her to special order what she needed. But Hope was not about to give him the satisfaction of that since he always charged an alarming rate. Hope continued to browse the shelves as she heard the door to the shop open, and it sounded like only one person had come in. However she did not want to spend all day in here. But she wouldn’t mind having a friendly chat with someone.
(kind of short, but it will get better as the thread goes along.)

One could ask what Willow Huckleberry was doing at the apothecary, when she was not a potioneer and maybe could have gotten all of the ingredients from the potions professor at Hogwarts or in the greenhouses. But since Willow was not very familiar with the staff yet, and the greenhouse did not seem to house the ingredient for her little miracle potion for the flu – she sneezed – the woman had travelled to Diagon Alley. She hoped that at least Slugs and Jiggers would have what she was looking for, and there was no way in wizard's hell (a hell filled with dementors – she imagined) she would contact her mother, whom she knew had it. So instead the blonde haired woman strolled down the familiar street with an apple in her hand and a small smile on her lips, chewing.
She sneezed now and then as the chill air tickled her nostrils and sniffed when the nose started running, tugging the scarf closer around her neck. The cold had sneaked up on her during the night. Willow had been so sure that she would not catch anything this season, but as a student had coughed on his crystal ball, she knew that the idea was utterly hopeless. And right she was, just as she had expected, she had woken up with a soar throat and a stuffed nose. One did not have to be a seer to foresee such a sad fate for this young woman. And here she had hoped she could listen to the Weird Sisters all day and dance down the halls of the upper levels at the school. But instead she was stuck in Diagon Alley on the search for that ingredient she needed for her potion. Willow entered the apothecary, glancing up at the ringing bell above the door that announced her presence.
”Hello!” She greeted the shop owner with a big smile and took a turn, strolling down a small corridor between the tall shelves.
Willow almost bumped into another woman as she walked around the corner. She quickly jumped away, almost colliding with a cauldron behind her and grabbed a hold on it before it fell to the floor. Willow blinked as her blue eyes looked back at the witch she had found hiding between the ingredients and an apologetic smile formed on her lips before she giggled light heartedly.
”Oh, I am so sorry. I hope I did not touch you!” She said. ”I have a cold and I am really looking for this special ingredient that is good for a scratchy throat.” Willow chatted.

Hope had been looking at some dried herbs that could be used for a potion that was used in the cure for dragon pox. She turned her head just in time as someone bumped into her. ”Oh, I am so sorry. I hope I did not touch you!” At that statement Hope raised her eyebrow as if to ask why but she received the answer before she even asked ”I have a cold and I am really looking for this special ingredient that is good for a scratchy throat.” That explained why the other woman had jumped away from Hope. “No harm done. What ingredient are you looking for? I might be able to help you find it, or I might even have it in my bag.” Hope asked out of curiosity. As a healer it was always fun to learn what other people used in potions to cure ailments. If it was something that she knew about, she might even have it in her bag, but first she had to learn what it was.
As she waited for the woman to respond Hope looked around “My name is Hope. What is your name?” She introduced herself since she did not want to seem like a rude person. Hope had seen this woman at Hogwarts before, and she vaguely remembered her from when they were in school. Which is saying something since they were at least four or five years apart in school and in different houses. However if she had to hazard a guess the woman before here was a seer or something like that or at least that is what she guessed.

The woman Willow had bumped into did not respond like she had expected, and the young blonde smiled surprised at the other as she in a complete normal and friendly way greeted her and even asked what ingredient she was looking for, because she might have it in her purse. Apparently friendly people existed, and to Willow's strange luck, this nice person even had a storage of potion ingredients in her purse! Willow considered for a moment if the woman had snatched the ingredient from one of the shelves and sneaked it into her purse, but the seer did not care. Instead she shrugged and buried her hands into the pockets of her green woollen coat.
”Really? Well it is this root!” She said and found a piece of parchment in one of her pockets which she handed to the stranger. ”I cannot pronounce the name...”
The name of the root was written in latin and unknown to Willow's stupid muggle creator. However it reminded a lot about ginger and with a tablespoon of honey and some lemon grass – even a little bit of mandrake and bicorn horn (for a pepperup potion), it could help a sore throat and a cold. Willow tugged a lock of hair behind her ear. She already liked the woman. The blonde haired witch was very quick to judge people, and since this one walked around with potions ingredients in her purse, she was already considered a quite awesome person.
”My name is Willow!” She responded with a grin and looked up at Hope. ”I love your name!”

“Thanks.” Hope said at the compliment about Willow loving her name. “Nice to meet you Willow. You work at Hogwarts don’t you?” She asked as she looked at the name of the root that the other woman couldn’t pronounce Hope knew exactly what it was and she did in fact have it in her bag and it was fresh so it would work the best for Willow’s potion. “Making a potion for your cold I presume?” She asked with a knowing look, as she dug around in her bag which had an undetectable extension charm on it. A few moments passed by before her hand wrapped around the root. “Here we go one root for you. There should be enough there for you to make several batches with.” She knew her potions and knew how much you needed of each ingredient for certain types of potions.
“I tend to carry fresh ingredients around sometimes due to the fact that I am the Head Healer of the Potions & Plant Poisoning department of St. Mungos. Because you never know when you will need something right away.” Hope said with a smile. She was beginning to like this woman even though she was a bit odd. There was nothing wrong with odd people it is who they are and most of them aren’t afraid to be themselves. Which in Hope’s book was a good thing, because she could not stand people who pretended to be someone or something that they’re not.
Hope looked at the woman before her and asked “If you don’t mind me asking what is it exactly that you teach at Hogwarts?” She asked in a curious tone, sure she basically asked that question just a few seconds ago but Hope was curious as to what Willow did at Hogwarts.

Hope asked if Willow worked at Hogwarts, and the blonde haired witch widened her eyes as she heard the question. A simple and quite normal one, but since this particular woman was a stranger to Willow – or well, she did not remember her from school, she found it to be absolutely odd for the witch to know her job. Maybe she was a seer too? Wouldn't that be absolutely wonderful? The only seer Willow has ever known was her own mother, and she was not sure she even liked that seer. It could be nice to meet someone more... Sane.
”I do! I really do work at Hogwarts!” She said a bit too enthusiastically. ”How did you know that? Are you a seer too?” It bursted out of her.
And the woman surprised her again. First of all, she knew that the ingredient was used for a cold, and Willow nodded as her smile grew wider. And like a magician (well, a muggle one actually) she pulled out the said ingredient from her purse. Willow was absolutely amazed, and she started imagining Hope having an entire garden in her handbag.
”Oh how wonderful. Thank you so much.” She grinned and took the root Hope offered her. ”How can I repay you?”
One might have considered it to be impolite to trade personal ingredients in the middle of the apothecary, but that had not even entered Willow's mind. Instead she just listened as Hope explained why she happened to carry around a lot of potion ingredients. So the woman was a healer at St. Mungos – and even a head healer. It was a very prestigious job. She was saving lives! Willow loved her already. A woman whose purse was filled with ingredients and who saved lives for a living. Now that was real hero!
”That is so interesting.” She replied. ”Head of a department. Do you get many injured people?” Willow hoped not, but she could not help asking. ”And I teach divination.” She added – the job was not as important as Hope's, but nonetheless, she could not say otherwise. That would be lying! And one does not tell lies (as Umbridge so nicely put it some 20 years ago).

”I do! I really do work at Hogwarts! How did you know that? Are you a seer too?” Hope smiled at the enthusiastic manner in which Willow talked. It Made one feel happy and it was odd but Hope felt the stress that she had leave her. How could one not be happy around a person like this or at least with this attitude? “I have seen you around as I have gone in and out of Hogwarts. I usually visit the school a few times a month to make sure that the Hospital Wing is well stocked in the potions and cures that it needs. And no I am not a seer, sorry.” Hope answered Willows question in a polite and a little happier tone than what she had used before.
She was quite sure that she would end up earning herself a new friend by the end of their conversation. “Don’t worry about repaying me. I enjoy helping others out especially if they need something that I can offer that will be beneficial to them.” She smiled in response as she spoke. It never bothered her to help others when they were sick or ill or in whatever else it was that they needed help with. It was and is just the kind of person that Hope is.
“It is quite interesting. And unfortunately I do see a lot of injured people, especially lately what with everything going on and what not.” Hope answered in a serious tone. “Divination. I never had a knack for the subject but I still find it interesting to hear about. I don’t mean to pry but, I am assuming that you are a seer, and I know that you cannot turn it on and off but have you ever predicted anything or had any visions? Also how are the students fairing in your classes?” Hope asked wondering just what or who had Willow seen visions of. She just hoped that she wasn’t prying since she had always found the subject of Divination to be an interesting one but she never had the knack for it.
