He also fears the day they might get caught by the witch hunters who had attacked his sister, either to silence them or to take Summer back for more experiments.
overall personality:
Simon has always been a serious person even as a child. Focused solely on his studies rather than attempting to be friendly with much of anyone. The Troy family put pressure on their children to be the best and never stop getting better. They had a duty to bring honor to the Troy family name. Simon embraced this as much as he could. He wanted to be someone that his family name would be proud of growing up. Even chastising his sister at times when they were younger in moments where he thought she wasn’t taking her intellect and magical abilities seriously. Even with that, she would still be able to talk him into at least trying to have some fun with her. There was a moment of jealousy from the young Simon as Summer was indeed smarter than him at times even if he was older by several years. Still, he loved his sister and knew he could find other ways to make his family proud.
There were some moments where Simon found things that he did just for fun as he got older. He enjoyed Quidditch, the competition, the strategy and the need for skill all spoke to him. Granted he never saw it as a true profession but something just for fun. Puzzles with his sister or on his own were something he found enjoyment in. Anything that involved some thinking behind it, he disliked idly sitting around in what people called just relaxing. That was a waste of energy that would be better served learning. The only exception is for swimming. It was the one thing he could say he enjoyed that didn’t require thought. He just enjoyed it for what it was.
After the events that affected his sister and caused their new lives on the run, he has both gotten more serious and less. His family name and its honor a matter of the past. He could enjoy the little moments of happiness they both could find while hiding out or trying to heal his sister. He’s found the soft spot for just embracing life while it’s good while also trying to keep his sister safe. Accepting in his sister more childish moments even if they are a thing brought on by her condition.

history:
Simon was born the eldest child Troy family, quickly followed two years later by his younger sister Summer. Simon had a lot expected from him early. For as long as he could remember his parent praised excellence from him and his sister. While the Troy family enjoyed their title as pureblood it was far more important to be the best that they could be. Their parents both had immense hopes that their children would go on to have highly influential careers. It almost didn’t matter the field as long as they would bring honor and prestige to the Troy name. Simon was happy to be a big brother, he thought he would be able to teach his little sister all kinds of things that she didn’t know. Yet even at the age of four Summer was correcting him on his spelling and math. It was embarrassing at first but Simon still loved his sister.site events reaction:
Once Simon was eight his parents decided to get a tutor, much like his father had when he was a child before going to Hogwarts. It seemed to just be a family tradition. even if it would seem he wasn’t as gifted as Summer was going to be when it came to intelligence. That didn’t discourage his parents from insisting that he could better himself and strive for a career to be proud of. Simon kept up with his classes and enjoyed learning, for the most part, the only times he got annoyed were the times Summer could still easily point out when he was writing something incorrectly. He loved his sister dearly but she did love to show off a little when it could be used to tease him in some way.
On his eleventh birthday, Simon got his invitation to Hogwarts, something he had been looking forward to for some time. Finally, he could do magic freely and not under the strict guidance and supervision of a tutor. Around that time Summer was given her own tutor but not just one, Summer was to have a number of them for several different subjects. Simon was proud of his sister but also still a little jealous that he wasn’t naturally that smart. He had to work twice if not three times as hard to keep up with her. While she never held it over him that she was smarter and younger than him.
The sorting hat quickly placed Simon in slytherin yet there was a moment where the hat questioned if Ravenclaw was better for the young boy. He didn’t have much of a preference on which house one way or another. Being from the Troy family a well known pureblood family Simon had some people come up to him in his first year mostly from his own house expecting they should stick together for some reason because of it. Simon didn’t care much for blood status, his parents didn’t stress it much. That and he didn’t have a problem with the mixed blood and muggle-born. At least that was till some muggle-borns found out his full name and made fun of him for it. The jokes followed him for many years and did get very annoying.
Simon didn’t make many friends, there were a couple that he would consider himself close to but for the most part, his life was devoted to studying. He still wanted to bring honor to his family and there was part of him that wanted to catch up to his sister even if he doubted that would ever happen. Unlike Simon, Summer didn’t end up going to Hogwarts which was a disappointment for him. He had been looking forward to showing his little sister around the school. Instead, she would continue on with her own tutors, they were better suited to working with someone who learned things so quickly. Unlike what the courses at Hogwarts would be like.
Besides studying the only things Simon ever did was attempt to play quidditch, just for fun not at any competitive level or go swimming. Something about floating around in the water just felt nice. It was the only thing he actually did that wasn’t for his future or learning in some way. Swimming is the closest to what Simon got to relaxing. As Summer turned thirteen she was offered to go to a special school for gifted witches and wizards in China. Their parents were proud of her and it’s all they could talk about for some time. Simon was proud of his sister too but there still were the pings of jealously with how much attention Summer was getting from their family. He was getting amazing marks in all his subjects, was a prefect and probably on his way to being headboy in his seventh year. Still, all they talked about was his sisters' progress. He never held it against her, more their parents but all Simon could do was try harder.
His seventh year began with the news that a girl had been murdered aboard the Hogwarts Express as well as the fact he hadn’t been chosen for headboy. It had been the first time in a while that his parents expressed concern with how Simon was doing at school. That and Summer wasn’t around the house now year so they probably didn’t have much else to do. Summer wasn’t really writing from her new school either. His parents and Simon chalked it up to just being busy at first. Not long after the first death, there was a second murder followed by another student being attacked. His parents questioned taking Simon out of Hogwarts but he decided to stay. He was worried but after so long at the school he wanted to finish his school years at Hogwarts with the small circle of friends he had.
Everyone hoped there wouldn’t be any more attacks but there were, several students were kidnapped and one had even been killed. This time it was revealed just who was attacking people, it had been one of his fellow Slytherins. Simon left his seventh year just trying to focus on getting home, at least during the summer he would see his sister and find out about this fancy school she was going too. Sadly that wasn’t before another attack this time on the Kings crossing platform. Simon had luckily made it through all the attacks unharmed and was home, something his parents were thankful for. Still, it wasn’t long till his parents were more focused on Summer and her schooling at the Lin Song, which she only spoke highly of.
Simon spent much of his summer with his sister, she still enjoyed teasing him as much as before and was just as smart as always. Still, something seemed off about Summer. It was hard to describe for Simon but things just didn’t feel right. The months went by and before he knew it was time for her to return to school. He chalked up his feelings that something was going on to just not seeing her as much as before and she was just growing up.
Simon now out of school was focused on what he wanted to do with his life. He found he had a passion for healing others. That and being a renowned healer would be something his family would be sure to be proud of. With his high marks in school it wasn’t hard to begin working at St.Mungos. It was only as an assistant healer but Simon had quickly shown that he knew what he was doing. Impressing some of the people he had been working under. Simon learned that the Triwizard tournament was happening this year and almost regretted that he had already graduated for a moment. He kept tabs on what was going on and hoped Hogwarts would win but was more focused on his career.
Between working and keeping busy Simon kept up with the Tournament up till finding out Hogwarts had indeed won. Sadly just as everything seemed to be going well for everyone the students visiting Hogwarts were attacked with most dying. Simon was at the hospital for the few that had survived. It was indeed bad but he did his job the best he could. As summer rolled around Simon learned that his sister hadn’t returned home. Which was very unlike her but his parents insisted everything was fine. That his sister just wanted to stay during the Summer to learn more. His parents bought that but Simon didn’t, Summer loved coming home at the end of the school year. Especially after how weird she had been acting last summer.
Simon took a leave of absence from working at St.Mungos. Saying it was for personal issues and it would be just for a week or so. He didn’t tell his parents as they would have just instructed him to not get involved in the Lin Sòng’s training. The school was incredibly hard to find, based inside an actual mountain and when he did find it no one would talk to him or let him in. This wasn’t what Simon imagined Summer's amazing school would be like and he no longer was jealous of her coming here the more he delved deeper. Simon was eventually able to bribe one of the instructors into explaining that while the students had been on their way home they had been attacked by a group of witch hunters. They had fought them back for the most part but Summer had run away during their attack and hadn’t been seen since. Simon hadn’t heard much of witch hunters till just now but he got the idea pretty quickly. Summer had only been missing for a few days now and Simon knew he had to find her quickly.
It took Simon another ten days to find out anything about the witch hunters, at this point Summer had been missing for fifteen days. During his search near the mountain he came a crossed a group of what appeared to be muggles setting traps. As he watched them hidden behind a few trees he heard them talking about hunting any magical creatures they could find yet nothing was as good as that girl they found awhile ago. Simon was never an angry person, preferring logic and reason to just getting angry but this wasn’t the time for ether of those. Quickly rendering them unconscious, what happened next isn’t something Simon is proud of or speaks of but he didn’t have the time to convince these monsters to tell him what he needed to know. Casting the Cruciatus Curse, something he had only studied in books, he tortured them till one finally spoke. Telling Simon the location of where they were keeping the magical creatures they caught including the girl.
A few more days and Simon had finally found the location, heavily secured and fortified. He was able to Apperate in relatively quietly even if he had to stun several muggles and hide them out of the way during his search. Finally, he had found Summer attached to several different muggle equipment, which seemed to be scanning her brain at the time. Freeing her they didn’t have much time to talk and it also didn’t help the Summer was understandably confused and out of it. They escaped quickly and just kept running till no one was after them. After which they bounced around places in Asia and Russia, slowly making their way back to the United Kingdom. All the while occasionally running into people that were looking for them yet just slipping away. Whatever the school and the muggles had done to his sister had changed her and while he tried to heal her with what he knew, nothing really seemed to help.
Around February they made it quietly back into Europe. Yet couldn’t reveal that to just anyone as both Summer's old school and the witch hunters were after them. The school wanting to force her to return and the hunters wanting to keep there existence a secret and use Summer for more of their experiments. Simon was bound to not let either of those happen. His family name and life before wasn’t important to him even if he did miss it at times. What was more important was keeping his sister safe and healing whatever damage that had been caused to her.
