The world may disapprove But my world is only you And if we're sinners then it feels like heaven to me
FEBRUARY 2, 2025 Finally, she felt like she had been stuck within the hospital for centuries. However, she had been there since early in the morning, and it was nearing the twenty-four mark. So many people had come in that day, either in labor or at the start of it, and they had all hands on deck, which means that Odette, along with the rest of the healers and nurses of the maternity ward, were scrambling around to get everything done. And finally, as the night turned into morning, she was finished with everything. Families had welcomed their newborns into their lives, and everyone was resting, it was time that she was allowed to as well after she got some food. The Leaky Cauldron was along the way to her apartment, and she quickly walked inside and sat down at the bar, ordering a firewhiskey and a sandwich. She put her head down on the wet wood counter, closing her eyes for a few seconds before pulling her head up as the bartender returned with her drink. She rubbed her forehead, a yawn ripping through her. She started to drink from the glass slowly, and soon the sandwich was placed before she and she began to slowly eat it as if going too fast would cause whiplash. She was so tired; she missed her mouth the first time before finally getting the bread between her teeth and taking a bite. OPEN THREAD

It had been a long day and even though it had been mostly filled with shopping it didn't make things less exhausting. She didn't know how to properly locate any of the shops she needed, which only meant that in the end finding what she needed to more than twice the time she'd been willing to spend on it. Having a home that luckily had space for a cauldron to brew potions had been a gift on it's own but finding exactly the things she needed was a whole other story. Her day had been blessed and she certainly felt like one of the most lucky woman in the world considering the success she'd managed to achieve despite the various obstacles in her way. Not knowing the way was one of the bigger ones, which probably meant the challenge was not too big to begin with. Still she was pleased as she sat down on an empty bar stool at the leaky cauldron and ordered herself far too much food. In her defence, she had been hungry while making her order and that always means there is a risk of over ordering. She'd had some of her own food when a different woman sat down not too far from her. She was eating as though she'd been starved for weeks, but knew the feeling. Usually when people that hadn't eaten in too long started eating a meal at too great a speed ended up being sick because they scared their bodies too much. She was eating slow almost like she knew that. Then again, the only reason that Heleen made such a mental note was because she'd had a friend with... food issues in the past. Yet she was curious about this individual and figured that she could attempt to make a new friend? The heavens knew she needed one. All her friends were in a different country, which made things rather lonely. One of the risks of moving countries, she supposed. She picked up her plate and walked over to the stranger. "Do you mind if I join you?" She asked with a kind smile. She really hoped the woman wouldn't mind. @odette

The silence in her bubble was great. She enjoyed it, even if those around her were laughing and conversing loudly. It was almost as if she were in a trance, eating and drinking her fill as slowly as possible, while not realizing anything around her. It wasn't long before the bartender returned to top of her drink, getting a nod in thanks from the blonde woman as she took another sip. She hadn't even realized her glass was empty, or almost empty...she was so out of it.
A few minutes later, as she took another bite, the sound of someone breaking through her silence had caused her to blink, almost in fear. She hadn't realized anyone had appeared beside her, asking if she could join her. Swallowing what food she had in her mouth and forcing a tired smile upon her face, she gestured to the empty seat; "No, I don't mind. Have at it"
