Feb. 16, 2025 Dom wanted advice. She didn't know many Quidditch Stars. Okay, so she knew one. Finn Jones. He was great and all, and Dom was seriously considering joining his team. She got the offer yesterday and wasn't quite sure whether or not she should take it. She wanted to. For the first time since Ethan's death, the thought of playing her favorite game didn't make her feel sick inside. Dom wasn't quite sure what made the change in her, except for the realization that Ethan wouldn't want her to hold back for him. So instead of avoiding the game, she'd play it for him. The thing was, she wanted to hear her Aunt's advice. Ginny had once been a professional Quidditch player. She could actually have advice, which was why Dom asked her to meet her here after she finished her Sunday shift. Dom sighed as she watched the clock on the wall. It was starting to get late and she was off in two minutes. Just two more and she'd be free. Hopefully her aunt would come soon after she got off. Dom wasn't quite the most patient type of person. Ginny had been getting ready to teach a class when an owl had stopped by her office through the window, and plucking it from the mouth of the creature, giving it a little pet before opening it, she was interested to see that her niece, Dominique, wanted to meet with her for advice. Found as a bit of a surprise, but agreed to it. She had to be at the dinner feast, but after she could slip away and apparate to the little village nearby, one that was still being fixed up after the attack of the Holiday.
With excellent time to spare, Ginny appeared outside of where her niece worked and waved from outside the window, not wanting to impose in case she was still working. So she opted to sit outside, waiting for her niece, so the two could walk and talk.

Dom saw her aunt standing outside the candy store, waving to her. She offered a nod in return before turning her attention back to the old woman in front of her, though Dom really just wanted to be outside with her aunt. She smiled as the woman finally decided what she wanted. Dom lead her to the register and rang her up, walking to the door with her and flipping the sign to say "closed." She stuck her head at the door and looked to her aunt. "I have to close up real fast. Do you want to come inside while I do?" Her boss trusted her, so Dom knew it wouldn't be a problem. Besides, it would only take a few minutes for her to finish this up, then she and Ginny could go wherever to talk. "So, how do you like working at the school?" she asked quietly. Ginevra Molly Potter

A few minutes after Ginny had appeared, Dominique peaked her head outside the door after the older woman that was inside slipped out. Ginny looked towards the ginger and smiled at the young girl as she opened her mouth to speak. 'I have to close up real fast. Do you want to come in while I do?' Ginny shrugged her shoulders, stretching her legs out from her seat and rising to her full height. "If your manager doesn't mind..." she said, not wanting to get her niece in trouble.
A few seconds later, both women were inside the establishment as Dominique started doing whatever she had to close up, leaving Ginny to watch from the other side. The girl spoke, asking how she liked working at the school, and the ginger smiled. "I love it - I missed playing Quidditch, I don't know why pre-amnesia me decided to quit." she said, though she did know why.
She wanted to be there to raise her children, and it was easier to leave that life around and settle down for an office job. But after losing her memory, there were times when she questioned what adult-her had decided. "This was my easy way to get it back, plus, McGonagall has been asking for some time for me to take the opening position for a few months now."

Dom hurried to close up the shop, listening as her aunt answered her questions. "I'm glad you like it so much. Do you like teaching flying as much as playing?" She was sincerely curious about how Ginny felt about her new job, but at the same time Dom was trying to put off the real reason why she wanted to meet with her aunt. To talk about her own future. She nodded, smiling when she finally finished getting everything squared away. "I'm ready to leave now!" She announced, leading the way to the door and locking it once they were both out. "Do you want to go for dinner or something?" Dom wasn't entirely sure how to start this conversation. It was strange. She wasn't used to being awkward about anything, but she didn't know what anyone would think about a possible professional quidditch job for her. Ginevra Molly Potter

'I'm glad you like it so much. Do you like teaching flying as much as playing?' The ginger asked as she cleaned up the store with a speed that Ginny wish that she had. She smiled, nodding her head, "It's a great experience. I enjoy seeing the joy on the younger kids faces when they finally get the broom into the air. It reminds me of my first flying class."
A few minutes later, Dominique announced that she was finished, causing Ginny to smile and nod her head, "We can go to dinner. My treat, you pick." she said with a smile on her face. It had been forever since she had come to Hogsmeade, she wasn't sure what was still here and what was gone - especially after the attack over the holiday.

Dom smiled as Aunt Ginny answered her question, saying that teaching was a great experience. Dom smiled as she remembered her first time on a broom. That day had been fabulous and was branded into her memory. "That's great. You deserve to be doing a job you love so much," she answered firmly. Apparently Ginny wanted dinner, which Dom was definitely up for. She loved eating food, always. The excuse to eat with someone who was willing to pay for her was also an extra treat. Dom shrugged, laughing a little. "I'm not particularly picky. Are you okay just going to the Three Broomsticks?" She didn't think her aunt would be, but Dom wasn't going to just assume that. She never knew what someone else was going to want to do. Ginevra Molly Potter

My power's turned on starting right now I'll be strong I'll play my fight song And I don't really care if nobody else believes Life had dramatically changed for Ginny Potter since Harry came back. She quit her job at the Prophet and moved to work at Hogwarts, in a job that was way more enjoyable than her last. She felt it had something to do with her memory loss, seeing as she couldn't remember her life after the Battle of Hogwarts. While her body was older, her mind was young - and the Prophet was not the sort of action that she wanted in her life. Teaching others to fly, now that was something she could get behind. She was glad that Dom asked about it, giving her a chance to share her love, something that Dom said was something she deserved. When asked if she wanted to get dinner or do something else, Ginny's first thought had come to food, which she offered to pay for as long as Dom picked it. The ginger laughed, saying that she wasn't picky before mentioning the Three Broomsticks. Ginny shrugged her shoulder as well, nodding her head with a smile, "Three Broomsticks it is...let's get going."MADE BY VEL OF GS

Dom grinned and nodded when her Aunt agreed to go to the Three Broomsticks. The cool thing was, she could still go there! Even though she wasn't a student anymore, she could still go back to Hogsmeade and enjoy it. Which was convenient, since it was a close place for Ginny to go to. "Okay, so I have something I want to talk through," Dom told her after they walked in silence for a bit. A year ago, Dom would have spoken to fill the silence, but she didn't quite mind it anymore. She could take a little bit of silence, but she was also glad that she had something to talk about with her aunt. "Are you up to giving me some advice?" Dom offered a smile. Ginevra Molly Potter

My power's turned on starting right now I'll be strong I'll play my fight song And I don't really care if nobody else believes Even though Ginny had eaten at the Dinner Feast back at Hogwarts, she was sure that Dom was hungry. That was why she offered dinner and to pay for it. It wouldn't stop her from getting a Butterbeer, or something else. They agreed that the Three Broomsticks were where they would go and begun their walk towards the establishment. Ginny remembered frequenting the place when she was at Hogwarts, though she hadn't exactly been back in many years. Or at least, from what she could remember. As far as her memory was concerned, the last time she had come was before the Battle of Hogwarts. Who knows if she came here during her Quidditch journey. 'Okay, so I have something I want to talk through, are you up to giving me some advice?' Ginny glanced towards her niece and smiled, "If it's something I can give advice on, I'm up for it." As she thought about it, she was sure she could give advice, Dominique had picked her for a reason, after all. MADE BY VEL OF GS

Dom smiled when her aunt agreed to help. She figured Ginny would probably be supportive, but wasn't really sure what anyone else would think. "I think I want to go into Quidditch professionally," she blurted out after a minute. "I mean, I'm good at it and I hate being in a shop all the time. I want to do something fun, and that seems to be the thing I'm best at, but ... I'm not sure what anyone else will think about it." Not that that would stop Dom, but she also didn't want to be defending her decisions to everyone she knew. The thing was, she didn't care a whit about being famous. She just wanted to play, and since she'd been offered the opportunity ... she was kind of dying to take it. At the same time, she wanted another person's opinion. Someone who'd gone that route before. Ginevra Molly Potter

My power's turned on starting right now I'll be strong I'll play my fight song And I don't really care if nobody else believes When Dom had asked her for advice, Ginny had been a little surprised. Getting asked advice was something her children rarely did, not that she had the experience or memory to give it. She was forever stuck in the memories of the past and only had the memories she made since her's were taken to live by. She didn't remember having children, or marrying Harry, nor playing professional Quidditch. And when Dom blurted out that she wanted to play Quidditch professionally, she looked at her. 'I mean, I'm good at it and I hate being in a shop all the time. I want to do something fun, and that seems to be the thing I'm best at, but ... I'm not sure what anyone else will think about it.' Ginny smiled lovingly at her niece, "If it's something you want to do, and you love it, why shouldn't you? You shouldn't care what other people think; never let them hold you back from your passion. If you are determined enough to do something, everything will fall into place. And if your determination is towards playing Quidditch professionally, then do it." MADE BY VEL OF GS

Dom waited, almost impatiently, to see what her aunt would say. She wasn't sure how anyone would react to her wanting to play Quidditch, even her aunt. Then again, wasn't Aunt Ginny the one who would understand the most? Then again, maybe not since she had lost her memories of playing Quidditch. When her aunt started to answer, Dom listened with rapt attention, starting to smile as Aunt Ginny continued. "Thank you. I think ... I think I needed to hear that." Really, playing Quidditch had been a dream of hers since she first started playing in school. Then she dropped the idea entirely when Ethan died. She was only now starting to realize how much she missed it. "Do you ... remember anything about it? Like, whether or not it was annoying to run into fans in random places? Or how it was working with a professional team?" She knew Ginny likely didn't remember everything, but anything would help. Ginevra Molly Potter

My power's turned on starting right now I'll be strong I'll play my fight song And I don't really care if nobody else believes When Ginny was younger, she dreamed of Quidditch. Most of her siblings had played the sport, and eventually, the young Wesley had gotten on the team. She had been there when Harry became Captain and when her brother was added to the team as a Keeper. Everything had fallen into place before the Battle of Hogwarts, and after graduation, she had done it. She followed her dream of playing professionally; the only problem was, she didn't remember it. She mostly saw articles and even pictures of her in uniform. After James was born, she had learned that she gave up that dream to be a better mother, and ultimately, she went to the Daily Prophet to write about it instead. While she probably didn't regret it then, she did not have memories of the event. That was why she took the job at Hogwarts, to teach flying and relive her passion and pass that onto new generations. But as she gave her niece valuable advice, she thanked her, saying that she needed to hear it. She nodded her head, smiling. 'Do you ... remember anything about it? Like, whether or not it was annoying to run into fans in random places? Or how it was working with a professional team?' That was where Ginny found herself frowning, her memory spotty of that time. "I don't. But I know that I ultimately left the career after James was born, which either clue in that it was stressful to be a player and a mother. I'm sure it's just like how playing for Hogwarts was, just a little more extreme," she said. She wished she remembered, wished she could give Dom more. MADE BY VEL OF GS
