Spring 2025
Three hours after Scorpius set foot inside the casino, he knew about three things quite well: First of all, alcohol made his head spin. Second, he might have ingested an extraneous amount as opposed to have taken it easy the way he promised himself to. And third, it made him so light-hearted and prone to laughter that… suddenly he couldn’t remember the last time he’d felt this empty of worries. It was a great feeling, and yet, he would wake up the next morning mad at myself nonetheless. Vestiges of conscience made him stop at some point and walk directly to the bar, this time eager to get some water.
Perhaps water with vodka?
It was a good thing his friends hadn’t come along, otherwise he’d be sure going for the next option. This time, the Malfoy was set on acting with a nicer set of morals; to wake up somewhere, naked, as some his colleagues had done in the past, was not an option. He did go for water at first, and some strange food he didn’t feel like it’d be good to think much about. A few minutes later, his head wasn’t spinning as much and he felt like he could focus… to the point his eyes went straight to a lady who’d gotten closer to the bay, and seemed oddly familiar. Too pretty, and oddly familiar.
He wasn’t a man of simple thoughts - it’d usually take him far more words to describe another person, even inside his head. At last he was caught by the surprise factor, wondering to herself who she was… and the answer came, not too early. “I take it this is a coincidence.” His voice was loud enough to be heard by her, as she wasn’t too far from him, and Scorpius hoped it didn’t sound as dragged as inside his head. He absolutely despised drinking. He also half-despised Nefertiti. “And you didn’t show up to make anybody’s life miserable.” His smirk said it all; he remembered far too many fights over the last few years. She was once his friend, and now she wasn’t.
