5TH FEBRUARY 2025
IN ALL OF MILES’ YEARS at Hogwarts, they hadn’t really expressed a dislike for someone the same way Dominic had done to a few of his victims, victims the fellow Ravenclaw enjoyed to bully and somewhat drive them insane. Reason being, Miles knew if they would ever express it, they would have to waste their breath talking to said person they hated. All in all, it was a lose-lose scenario. Though, one person that the Pucey absolutely wanted to: pretty much crush their skull — was Gilderoy Lockhart. The man with the famous father, known for his novels that seemed to be a bunch of blabber instead of true stories. It was hard to comprehend at times how confident Gilderoy could be in a place like Hogwarts, when everyone usually ignored the Ravenclaw’s trickle of words that only boasted: himself, his attempt at picking up his grades, or compliments to the many…many women in his life.
Miles didn’t understand the purpose of flirting or being…so arrogant with their looks until they met Lydia. The cutest person to actually pay attention to and now…They were engaged! The process of being betrothed was an odd one after all. But Miles genuinely liked Lydia for who she was and her blood purity was just an added bonus. The days had combined together and trickled by after Christmas break ended, and already the month was February. It was still fairly early into the month, but with Miles turning the corner on the Third Floor, the reality of it all sunk in. Exams were coming up soon and studies would need to be taken seriously. (As if they hadn’t been studying all the time.) Charms class was the Pucey’s last class of the day alongside Professor Choi, who was still a new Professor to the Wizarding School. Miles enjoyed her teaching better than the last, she was more practical, ensuring that they would understand the mechanisms of the spell first before following the textbooks.
Walking in, Miles was rather surprised at the lack of free seats. They weren’t…late? Were they? Unless Professor Choi had asked for everyone to come inside earlier. Some people Miles recognised sat next to one another, like that disgusting half-blooded Potter and that girl who seemed anxious about everything. There was also the Krum girl, and Miles didn’t mind her. She seemed too aggressive for their likings though. There were only two seats left and they were next to one another. With a shrug, Miles dropped their head as they walked further to their seat, not paying any mind to the rest of the people in the class…and who wasn’t even there yet. Just as Professor Choi began the class, Miles’ attention was pulled towards the door that creaked open, peering at the lone late comer, and their head fell in anger. Guess who. @lockhart & let it begin!

Having the Americans at Hogwarts was such a treat for Gilderoy. He got to share the gift that was himself with a whole different student body. It was as much a gift to him in his last year at Hogwarts as he could imagine it was for the Ilvermorny students. Still it was sad to hear about their school blowing up or falling apart. Whatever the reason was Gilderoy had partly forgotten. Gilderoy was leading one especially lost American student to their class as he was on his way to Charms. He didn’t enjoy the idea of being late but this was an acceptable reason and as a prefect it was his duty after all. He was here to help people after all but he did much the same thing even before becoming a prefect. He shared helpful direction tips and other things he had learned with the lost young America on their way to the his first year classes.
Once they were safely to their class Gilderoy rushed back in the direction of Charms class. If he was lucky he wouldn’t be too late and Professor Choi might excuse him given the reason. Gilderoy made it just a few minutes late and proceeded inside the class. Everyone was already seated and Professor Choi seemed to have started the class already. “Sorry Professor Choi, I had to get one of the lost American first years to the potions classroom. Luckily he found me instead of just being lost forever.” Gilderoy offered both an apology and explanation for why he had been late. Realizing that there was only one empty seat Gilderoy made his way to it. It was next to Miles, a fellow Ravenclaw that didn’t seem to talk much but Gilderoy didn’t think much of it. “Thanks for saving me a seat, who knows where I would be sitting other wise.” Gilderoy said in a hushed tone as to not distract the class anymore than he already had as he took his seat next to Miles.

EVEN HEARING HIS VOICE WAS enough to bring Miles’ brows together in a furrow. They despised Gilderoy, from his stupid attempts in classes, to his supposedly ‘charming’ words, and the fact that Lydia was once obsessed with the Lockhart long time ago. Everything about Gilderoy bugged Miles. Upon the fellow Ravenclaw’s arrival, Miles listened in to his ‘heroic’ actions of helping out an Ilvermorny first year to their class, and listened in to the lesser important females in their class and how they swooned over Gilderoy’s act. Rolling their eyes, Miles assumed it was a load of shit anyway, who would allow Gilderoy Lockhart to help them with anything? The Ravenclaw was stupid like the next person. It showed, considering he was a half-blood after all.
Miles felt the need to grumble as Gilderoy sat next to them, but a quiet and spiteful mutter seemed to be enough. ”I didn’t save you a seat Lockhart. Now shut up.” Professr Choi went onto explaining what the class would be going through today, outlining how their minds needed to be in sync with their wands. Great, more non-verbal magic for the Pucey to perform. Charms were a part of Miles’ strong suit anyway, as well as Potions and most practices that only took a single person to perform. But it was if Merlin had cursed them (or had some kind of idea that Miles absolutely hated Gilderoy), Professor Choi announced she wanted this part of their practical to be in pairs…With the person beside them. ”Fuck sake…” They mumbled, raising their hand to rub their forehead.
