February 2025Freddie was still getting used to his new life in London. Things were different here. Faster pace. And he had no idea where he was going half of the time, which was a constant adventure. The young man had no trouble making friends and acquaintances everywhere he'd go, so he actually enjoyed it. Muggles treated him different because they didn't know that he was a quidditch star. One with a colorful track record, at that.
This afternoon, Freddie had finished practice with Puddlemore United early, so he cleaned up, and headed back home toward his penthouse suite in London. Everything he needed was walking distance, but he had a car because he enjoyed driving cars and loved spending money frivolously even more. Today Freddie walked to practice. He didn't have his broom on him because he had a locker at the stadium, and it would look pretty weird walking through London with a broom strapped to his shoulder. He was making his way through a crowd of people on the sidewalk when he saw a familiar head of red hair coming toward him, and a face he also recognized, but older. She looked so familiar. What if she just had one of those faces?! Well, to be fair, he was back in the UK after 7 years, he had known people at Hogwarts once upon a time. Those weren't people he had kept in contact with after moving to Castlebruxo because he was too lazy to write, but he never forgot a face.
As the young woman got closer, he turned toward them on his heel, positive that he knew her now. That was for sure Dominique Weasley! They were friends from first through third year at Hogwarts. Freddie held up a hand to waved frantically, "Heeeey!" he sang excitedly, stopping in front of her with a grin and pointing at her. He didn't mean to point directly at her chest. "I know you!" Freddie announced confidently, hoping to Merlin she actually did remember him and didn't think he was some creepy loser.

It was weird, but also very freeing to not be working at Hogsmeade anymore. Dom always wanted to be a Quidditch player growing up. She and Ethan talked about it all the time, though her feeling towards the sport definitely changed when he died. Now though? She felt like she was finally starting to be able to move on, and joining the Appleby Arrows was a big step with all of that. She'd only been on the team for a few weeks, but she already felt like a part of it and Dom was having a blast. The only strange thing was free time. Sure, lots of her time was spent at practice, but she also had a lot more time to do whatever she wanted. Much more time than she'd had when she worked at Honeydukes anyway. Today Dom was wandering around muggle London. She glanced in shops, walked through parks. Mostly, she was enjoying the brisk air. Part of her wished Joe wasn't busy in school so they could do something fun, but another part of her bristled at that idea. She didn't need him to be able to have fun! Dom was perfectly capable of entertaining herself. She heard someone shouting "Hey" at someone else in the crowd, and Dom chuckled, continuing her casual walk down the street. She had no reason to think they were talking to her until someone stopped right in front of her. She looked up with an instant smile, recognizing the face in a heartbeat. But ... it couldn't be Freddie, could it? He insisted that he knew her and Dom laughed, throwing her arms around his neck in a hug. This was definitely him. "Freddie! What are you doing here?" She asked as she squeezed him tight. Part of her could hardly believe that he was standing in front of her in London, but she'd been looking for something fun to do and he showed up. It was perfect. She pulled away, laughing as she looked up at him. "I haven't seen you in ages." Ever since he moved, in fact. Oh, it was nice to see him now though. @alfredo

February 2025Freddie watched as the red heads face slowly changed as she recognized him, instantly throwing herself into his arms. They were older now, so he easily towered over her, unlike back in their Hogwarts days. Freddie squeezed her in return, picking her up slightly and setting her down. "Hola, chica." he greeted, kissing both cheeks. The display wasn't meant to be romantic, he was just a good hugger. Freddie was really excited to see someone he knew finally, in London of all places. "Whatta blast from the past, hermosa." he declared as they pulled away from the embrace, Dom looked like she was doing very good. She looked great!
When she asked what he was doing here, he laughed with a shrug. "I live here now. About a block from here, actually." he said, enjoying what a small world they lived in. "I've recently left the Brazilian team and joined Puddlemore United." Freddie told her, wondering if she had been reading the quidditch news or anything. He kind of hoped she hadn't, but then again, it would be better than having to tell her to her face all of the dumb shit he's done for him to have to transfer to London. "Are you living here in London?" Freddie asked her curiously, before following with a second question and hopeful smile. "You have some time to catch up?"

Dom wasn't surprised in the slightest when Freddie hugged her back. Just like when they went to Hogwarts together, he gave great hugs, and he'd always been the touchy type of person, which mixed great with her because she was too. Her smile widened as flashes of all the mischief they got into ran through her mind. Ethan never really liked Freddie much, but Dom certainly had, never realizing that he wasn't the best type of role model and definitely got her to do things she likely shouldn't. She never thought about things like that. She squealed softly when he picked her up and put her down, kissing her cheeks in greeting. Ooooh, that had to be a Brazilian thing, right? She didn't mind it though. Dom laughed when he said that it was a blast from the past to see her. "Definitely! Though, I'm going to have to get you to translate a little for me. Not quite sure what all you're saying to me," she teased, grinning up at him. Man, it was nice to see him. Freddie told her that he lived a block away and Dom's jaw dropped. "No way. You live in London now?" her excitement clearly evident in her tone. She laughed, shaking her head when he told her he'd joined Puddlemere United. Of course he had. He came back right when she jumped back into Quidditch, on an opposing team. "Really? You had to join a team against me, didn't you?" she teased, still grinning as she looked at him. He looked handsome, happy, just like she remembered. She nodded at his question. "Yeah, I live here with Vic," Dom told him, her smile widening at his question. "I always have time for an old friend. Where do you wanna go?" @alfredo

February 2025Freddie laughed as she said that he'd need to translate for her. "I just said, 'hello beautiful'." he said as matter of factly, knowing it was out of context a bit, but wanting to make her smile. The young man didn't mean for it to be portrayed as overly flirty, his easygoing tone wasn't hard to detect. Freddie loved to compliment women. Especially his friends. He and Dom had a lot of lost time to make up.
He nodded his head up and down excitedly when she asked if he was living in London now. "Yeah, I'm not sure for how long, but it's home for now." he explained easily, always open for new opportunities to play in other places. When the redhead made a comment about him playing on an opposing team, he cocked his head to the side, very confused. "Wait. Are you playing now too? What team are you on?" he asked her in disbelief, obviously not following the quidditch news. Freddie was delighted when she agreed to catch up with him spontaneously. "You tell me. What's fun to do here? I haven't gone out much because I've been too busy training and moving in." he shared easily, happy that he had someone to hang out with so easily. Freddie didn't have many friends in London, other than his teammates, but he was sure that would change over time.

Dom just laughed when Freddie translated for her. Of course he said that. He was a major flirt, so it shouldn't have been a surprise at all. Except, she hadn't seen him in years, so it made sense that she didn't remember all of his quirks. What she did remember was that the two of them always had fun together, getting into mischief that they really shouldn't have. He was a blast. "It really is so good to see you again," she said with a grin, sighing as she tried to convince herself she wasn't imagining this. Her grin widened when he confirmed that he was living in London for now. She ignored the "for now" part. He was here! Which hopefully meant they'd be able to have some fun together, just like old times. Dom loved the look of confusion on his face when he asked if she was playing now too. She nodded proudly, "I'm playing with the Arrows, just started a little while ago." She probably could have started right out of school, but her head hadn't been in the right place for that. She'd needed some time to sort herself out. Freddie didn't know what he wanted to do and Dom rolled her eyes at him. "You asked me to catch up with you and you don't have any plans?" she teased, unable to help herself. Then she sighed and smiled over at him. "It's a good thing I know all the good places in London. You want to eat or do something?" Dom asked, wanting to make sure she did something that would interest him. "We can go to touristy places, parks, bridges, really anything you can imagine." London had just about everything and she was curious to see what Freddie would be interested in. @alfredo

February 2025Freddie snorted when Dom revealed that she was playing on an opposing team, The Appleby Arrows. That was a pleasant surprise. "The Arrows, huh?" he asked her, jabbing her with his elbow playfully. "The only female on a team full of sweaty men...how's that going for you?" Freddie asked playfully, eyebrows raising because he was genuinely curious. Freds was sure that she was handling it just fine. Dominique was a strong girl back in their early Hogwarts days, he could only imagine the type of firecracker she was now.
When Dom teased him for not knowing where to go, he cocked his head to the side and waved a sassy hand at her. "Psh, you say this like I knew I was going to see you." Freddie chuckled, offering her a playful eyeroll. Honestly he didn't care what they did. Freddie shrugged his shoulders, "Lets walk and see where that takes us." he said, always open for an adventure. @dominique

Freddie actually laughed when Dom told him what team she was playing for. She wasn't sure if that was him making fun of her or if he was just surprised, but she gave him a good-natured glare before rolling her eyes. She nodded when he teased her about the Arrows. "Yup! That's me, dealing with a bunch of sweaty guys," she answered back, chuckling. Honestly, it wasn't a problem at all. Sure, she flirted with them sometimes, but Dom was more than capable of taking care of herself on the Pitch, which all the members of the team learned pretty quickly. She shrugged, "It's going well. I feel like I'm fitting in pretty well on them. We'll have to see how it goes when we have a game." Dom was excited for that. Sure, practice was going well, but it was in the games that you could really see how well the team meshed. It was Dom's turn to laugh when Freddie defended himself, basically saying that he had no way of knowing he was going to run into her. She gave him an innocent expression, "You mean, you're not always prepared to see me?" Dom asked, pretending to pout. Seeing Freddie again was just too much fun. She chuckled when he decided that they'd take a walk. "Sounds good to me!" Dom agreed, bouncing as she started to walk in a direction without asking him. She wasn't really going anywhere specific. She liked the idea of seeing where they turned up. "So how have you been? I haven't heard from you ... since you left Hogwarts?" She looked at him, not entirely sure if that was right, but it sounded like it was. @alfredo

February 2025The pair effortlessly walked down the street in no direction in particular. Freddie congratulated Dom, pleasantly surprised that they would now be opponents on the playing field. At least he found out now and didn't have to get over the excitement during an official match with an audience. Freddie probably wouldn't have handled it as friendly, though he always strived to practice good sportsmanship with competitors. "Congrats on making the team, Dom. That's amazing!" he told her, offering her another excitable squeeze to the side; always the overly expressive type, especially through touches and hugs.
When the redhead brought up that it had been so long since she heard from him last, he chuckled, nodding his head along in mutual agreement. It was nice to see her. "Yeah, our third year... Sorry for not keeping in contact... I've never been good at remembering to write or writing in general." he told her honestly. English was his second language so it took much more effort for him to write, which wasn't always enjoyable for him. She asked him how he had been Hogwarts, and since there was so much to cover, he didn't know where to start. "Things have been good! Too good, really..." he laughed with a shrug, trying to play it off nonchalant and cool. Freddie ruffled his hair, "I've been living in Brazil for the past seven years, and was playing on the Brazilian team since graduating Castelbruxo.. Just a couple of months ago, I -uh-" he got that usual guilty look on his face whenever he did something bad, so he chuckled. Freddie had a difficult time being serious. He smiled that guilty smile still. "I got into a little bit of trouble with alcohol, flying, and some Muggles...so I'm here now.." he told her as matter of factly, not feeling the need to sugar coat it with his friend. If Dom asked about anything he'd tell her the truth, even after all of these years. It didn't seem like she read the tabloids since she most likely would have said something about it already.
As much as Freddie loved to talk about himself, he hated talking about himself lately since he had done something so publicly shameful. He was happy to move the conversation to her, "How have you been, though? Anything new and exciting?" he asked her with a cheesy eyebrow waggle, before following up with another question. "Did you just recently decide to pursue your quidditch dreams?"

She grinned when Freddie congratulated her for making the team. Honestly, she was very excited about it. Even though it took her almost a full year to decide that she wanted to play Quidditch, all it took was a few weeks with the team to know she made the right choice. She was happier now than she'd been in a while. "Thanks!" she answered as Freddie hugged her tight. Freddie admitted that he was never good at writing and Dom laughed, "You don't need to apologize. It's not like I wrote and you never answered." Dom wasn't the type that was really good at writing letters either. Even though she liked getting them, she rarely initiated them and even when she received letters, she didn't always answer. She was just oo easily distracted. She listened with interest as he started explaining how he'd been in Brazil all this time and even got on the Brazilian Quidditch team. Dom was grinning at him. Then he started to get a little embarrassed, pausing and chuckling. Dom twisted her head to the side, eyeing him curiously, her jaw dropping when he admitted what brought him here. Then she laughed. Hard. "So you're only in England cause they got mad at you for that?" she teased, unable to help herself. "Why didn't you do something like that sooner? We could've had fun this last year." Dom chuckled as she teased him. Dom shrugged when he turned the conversation to her, smirking a little. "New, sure. Exciting, maybe, but new and exciting? I'm afraid I'm a bit of a bore compared to you,"she teased, unable to help herself. She laughed a moment. "No, really though. I had a hard time deciding what I wanted to do. I worked at Honeydukes- you remember the sweets place in Hogsmeade, right- for a while, and recently joined the Arrows." She turned to look at her old friend with interest. "So ... I know you should probably be on your best behavior or whatever ... but does that mean we don't get to have fun?"

February 2025When the redhead shared her most recent events, he smiled. It seemed like she was doing very well now that she was leaving the candy store. "Ahh, Honeydukes, huh?" he chuckled, "Your candy slanging days were short lived. I bet you're excited for your first match." Freddie stated, actually excited for her. He was looking forward to compete against her professionally. It was crazy how life came to a full circle at times.
"Pretty much" Freddie stated unapologetically, nodding his head simply with a slow spreading guilty smile at her question. Truly, he didn't feel too guilty anymore. He finally came to terms with the feeling and accepted it. He knew he was a pain in the ass, it was a trait he had suffered from since he was a teenager. "Well, duuuuhhhh...." he exclaimed with an eyeroll. "Now I just have new territory." he stated with an innocent, charming smile. He nudged her in the side with his elbow, "So, y'know, if you have any cute friends, be sure to send them my way..." he waggled his eyebrows playfully.

She laughed when Freddie teased her about working in Honeydukes. Of course, she expected it. He always was a tease and a flirt. Really he was just plain fun, which was why she always enjoyed hanging out with him when they went to school together. "I am! Not sure who it's going to be against yet, but I am excited." Dom chuckled at Freddie's response. He was funny, easy to talk to. Just like she remembered. "New territory, huh? Sounds interesting." What?! She couldn't help but tease him. She squirmed away when he touched her side, hoping that he didn't remember she was ticklish. Then her jaw dropped. "You're asking me to send you cute girls? What, can you not see me standing here?" Really, she just wanted to have a good time with her old friend and teasing him was one of the best ways to do that. @alfredo

February 2025Freddies face flickered with amusement when the redhead took mock offense to him asking about cute friends. A chuckle slipped past his lips as he placed a reassuring hand on her shoulder, "Oohh, excuse me for being so rude. You're cute - nahh, you're hot - but you're also Dom." he stated conversationally with a smile. Freddie had no problem telling anyone they were attractive, or ugly - but that would take alcohol in his system and combative attitude.
Freddie laughed, knowing that she probably have something silly to say about that. She was a great friend when they were younger, it was exciting to see how different she was now, but still the same old Dominique Weasley he used to know. Freddie poked her again, since he noticed her flinch away the first time. "You seeing anyone right now?" he asked her in a friendly tone, not meaning to pry or be sleazy, he was curious.

Dom smirked when Freddie called her hot, then said she was also Dom. "Oh? So that means you can't hang out with the coolest friend you have? Just because I'm "Dom"?" she teased. She knew he wasn't asking about cute friends just to hang out with them, buuuuuuut she was going to take the chance to tease him if she could. Also, if Dom didn't get to hang out with him, she definitely wasn't going to point him in the direction of other girls. More because she'd be annoyed if that were the case but whatever. Freddie poked her again and Dom grimaced at him. Of course he'd notice something like that, even after so many years. She thought maybe he'd forget she was ticklish. She rolled her eyes. "I see tons of people every day Freddie. I don't know what you're talking about," she lied, smirking over at him. Honestly she didn't mind telling him that she was totally single right now. She had fun with some people, like Joe and Finn, but she wasn't actually dating anyone at the moment. @alfredo

February 2025Freddie knew that Dom was teasing him about the other girls, the look on her face and tone was quite apparent. She probably had loads of pretty girl friends that she was going to keep hidden from him. So selfish. But he was still very amused by the conversation and where it was going, as well as the flirtatious intent. His head cocked to the side to give her a challenging look, consisting of his eyebrows threaded at the center of his forehead with narrowed eyes, "Heey, I never said I couldn't hang out with my hot friend Dom." he corrected her with a wink. Dom was being playful, saying she saw lots of people every day. Freddie chuckled, sending her a friendly nudge again, "You see tons of people romantically, huh?" he asked in disbelief, playing along.
