Friday night was one of Cassandra's favorite. There were no current shows going on at the Phoenix Theater, which meant that she was free. Free to do whatever she wanted. Her studio was cold and unfriendly at the moment, and she needed a break from the paintbrush. Tonight was the night to party. There was a night club for wizards under Loch Ness, and she just had to try it out. Getting into a club was not a difficult task for Cassandra. She entered the air, already hot and sticky inside. The music so loud, talking wouldn't be easy. That was perfect. She was in no mood to talk. She entered the dance floor and it wasn't long until a handsome man came up and started to dance with her. He was attractive and just perfect for the mood she was in. They danced for some time, and he offered to get her a drink. How could she say no to that.
Off the dance floor, the music seemed to be dialed down, probably some enchantments put in place. Once they were there, all he wanted to do was talk. He wanted to know where she was from, what she did for a living. Stupid things like that. It was only a matter of time until he asked her if she had any pets, or what her favorite color was. Look, he was hot, but the last think Cassandra wanted to do was talk, especially about herself. She hated to talk about herself. But this guy wouldn't let up. She would just simply say what pupped into her head. As far as he knew, her name was Kathrin Jones, and she was from France. She was affraid that he would ask for her life story if she said anything else. Man was he annoying. She quickly tuned him out, rolling her eyes and looking down the bar, looking towards one of the large glass windows looking out into the Loch. Maybe that Kelpie would show up and he would stop asking her questions.
As she looked, Cassandra spotted a familiar face and smiled. She looked at the guy and smiled, then she simply walked away. As she approached, her hips swaying to the sound of the music, she noticed her famous friend's back was turned to her, and he was flirting with a girl she had seen before. Normally, she didn't mind if he flirted with others, she did the same thing. But not now, and not this girl. This slut that he was talking to had stolen many a man from her when she went to clubs. It was only fair she steal the ever so famous Gus from her obviously star stricken self. Cassandra approached him from behind and placed her hands softly on his shoulders "Thank you for holding my place, I was running late. You can go now." She said at the woman with a venomous stair. "It has been so long since I have seen you." She said, now addressing her friend, as she drew him into a backwards hug, rubbing her head on the side of his own. "Did you miss me?"

Friday night without a gig? Party night. While he loved his job and any night off could be seen as a waste of time it just was the sort of night where the mood was set for romance and all his effort to seduce was reduced to almost zero. Girls and guys alike loved superstars to begin with and most didn't mind being romanced either. With a starry night with barely a hint of clouds it was all too perfect for seduction. He could fall in love every single night like this, even if he did fall back out of love again in the morning. He'd made his way into the night club under The Lake. Nessie only had to show up for the party to be complete in his eyes. It took but moments after his entrance for people to swarm to his side in their adorable little attempts to attract his attention. Most famous people complained about this part but Gus? Well he only complained sometimes. He enjoyed the attention far too much to make drama out of it. He had plenty of that. As long as people stayed out of his private life for the most part he was a happy little slut for the masses. Besides, with the little flirts that were in those masses tonight he knew he had easy pickings. An adorable woman with perfect make up had made her way to him and strategically disarmed her competition. It was quite clear she was here to hunt and Gus knew her techniques as he'd had to use them once upon a time. Truly, it only made it easier for him. He knew she was interested and that saved him the work of figuring it out. Not that such a thing was a common problem for him. Thing were going well and the night was going smoothly. This was the kind of fun he'd been planning on after all. That was, until suddenly the girl's eyes intensified. Gus knew at that point that a party was waiting. Chick fights were incredibly amusing and he normally made sure to run off with the most attractive man he could find at that point. It made for a certain kind of hilarity and a night with much less drama than the girls would give him. This time it was going to be different though. He felt the touch on his shoulder and heard the voice like the purring of Phillipe in his ear. The venom in her voice and the like that could turn milk sour couldn't mean anything other than the arrival of one of his most fun friends. "Cassandra!" He purred as he kissed the top of her head while she lay claim to him. "Mon amour, tu es ravissante." He purred at her and snaked her arm around her without any effort at all. He knew her and he knew her well. They were far too similar not to cause trouble whenever they encountered each other. He gave a smile that was apologetic to the other girl. "I apologise. I appear to be spoken for, provided my girlfriend for the night buys me a drink." He nudged Cassandra playfully even as he still flirted with her rival. It wasn't even a competition anymore though. Cassie had long since won. He added to her in French with a seductive undertone, "Of course I missed you. The stars spelled out your name tonight, mon chéri." @iris

"Cassandra!" her old friend had said, and wrapped his arms around her. The woman sat there, shocked. She had him all to herself, and she was just going to see if they could move somewhere more private when another woman came a long. Just like that. Cassandra face smiled with victory as he mentioned her buying him a drink. She moved flawlessly in front of him, sitting on his lap and planting a long kiss on his lips. It was good to see her him again. It had been so long. And while it was fun to flirt with others, men and women, it was nice to have a familiar face that she didn't have to work for what she wanted. "The poor pop star cant afford to buy himself a drink." She kissed his cheek this time. "The poor baby." She said in a much more sarcastic tone, as she ran her fingers through his hair " I will buy you a drink, but you buy the rest of mine tonight, d'accord?" She gave a concerned look over to the woman. "I am so sorry my little lamb, but perhaps you can find another, that is not so easily swayed by his girlfriend." She stated to the woman in a sarcastically sorry voice. She then motioned to the bartender with two fingers, indicating for two drinks.
"It is only fate that brought us hear together once again" She turned back to Gus. "Plus, the look on her face is like gold." She added in french as she motioned back to the girl still sitting there. As the man who she had left arrived, wondering why she had so willingly pressed herself into him on the dance floor, but was now on some guys lap.

"Gentle now, little kitty." He murmured softly in her ear as he breathed her scent in deeply. It was good to be around those that wouldn't so easily leave him or misunderstand him. He just didn't want her to be overly mean to others. He understood rivalry well enough but it was a mean game if one bought into it too easily or too deeply. Even though the kissing was nice and made him smirk slightly he didn't appreciate the meaner side of his friends behaviour all that much. He spoke softly to her, sounding to the stranger as though whispering words of affection. "Vengeance does not become you, Cassandra. She's hurt enough that you have stolen her entertainment, now leave her be. You won, mon ami. Now be the girl I like playing with." He laughed rather loudly when she teased his supposedly lack of finance. "You know perfectly fine why you're buying me a drink Miss." He said coyly. "And I'll only buy you the drinks that I want you to drink Cass. You're not using me as a cash cow on your own terms." He teased her but he was dead serious about him choosing the drinks. It didn't matter that he had money to spare, it mattered that he didn't appreciate vultures and Cassandra knew that just as much as he knew that she wasn't one. That was why he paid her a fortune for all the art she made him. He paid her far more than would be required because he could and he adored his spicy little friend. It did mean she ought to have enough money to keep herself watered, the little plant. So it was only fate. That worked well enough for him. He chuckled and leaned over to grab his drink from the table, holding her so she wouldn't fall to the floor. With the drink quickly drained he put the glass on a table that was now easier to reach. "So exactly how bored were you?" He asked casually as he started playing with her hair aimlessly. She was quite the beauty indeed. He looked up for a moment to find a man staring at them and raised a brow. He spoke softly to her in French. "Did you have a toy before me? I confess my feelings hurt." It was in slight mockery of course. He knew better than thinking he was the only person for her. She was just like him in that aspect. Still, he wondered what the man planned to gain out of this. He wasn't that bad looking though. He could probably get on Cassie's nerves if he threatened to ditch her for this fellow. Then again, if the man before them wasn't into men, he could possibly be flirted off, which was just as amusing to Gus. A smile crept on his face slowly and Cassie was certain to know what that meant. Trouble. @iris

As her friend told her not to be vengeful, she smiled and agreed. She was board, but now she wasn't. She could leave this girl to her own devices. She would find new, entertainment - as he put it. And she actually smiled a friendly smile at the girl, who didn't seem to believe it. "I would never use you as a cash cow mon prince. I have my own job for that." Technically she had two, but exhibiting and selling artwork on the side of working in the theater was just for fun, and some extra cash. And because she technically didn't have a place to live, she didn't have to pay rent, just studio fees, for her artwork. She knew his feelings about people using him, and she wouldn't dream of it. Just as he obviously understood that she hated being ordered around. It was all her choice. Buying him a drink, and allowing him to buy her what drinks he chose for her.
She took her drink as he did and downed it as well, enjoying his arm around her. She placed the money on the bar for the tender to take. Thinking about the question he had asked, about how board she was. She glanced at the man again as he, once again spoke in French. She replied in their native tongue "We danced for a while, and it was going oh so well. But then ruined it by asking question." Cassandra did not like to talk about herself. So much so, that he would probably no know her by her name, except for the teachers who refused to call her anything else. She saw that look and smiled back. She didn't mind trouble. As long as she was in on the game. "Kathrine, what's going on" the man had asked before they had time to answer

Gus chuckled slightly as she mentioned not needing to use him as a cash cow. It was true, she easily got by. Life in a way had been kind to both of them on that particular avenue. He shrugged casually, barely caring about her comment. It was all old news after all. She hadn't accepted the offer though, which was always fun. Playing around with people just enough to have them wonder if the offer on the table was actually worth it. He knew spending time with her was always fun but she'd also chased the fun he had been having before she came along off rather rudely. Since he'd quite enjoyed the little escape he was having with the other woman it was up to Cassie to make sure his evening was worth the switch she made in it. If she was having him take that risk without too much of a say in it he was going to make sure she got choices similar to his own. He could easily up and leave and have her be alone with her boredom, or this individual that walked up out of nowhere. Then Cass explained the true situation. Yeah, she wasn't a talker. He barely knew anything about her as she wasn't prone to overshare. Or rather share at all. He liked her and enjoyed spending time with her, that much was certain. He just didn't feel they had some sort of deep profound connection. He didn't exactly know her well enough for that. His loyalty came more from enjoying her company and the chaos that they could weave together than a bond that he would break the world for. If worst came to worst he wasn't attached enough to her to truly change. It was the case for nearly everybody he knew and he doubted if she felt anything other than the same. They were friends, yes, but not the kind t hat can take anything. She depended on nobody and he couldn't commit to anybody. It only made sense. Gus smiled at the man. "Kat find a new toy to play with but this one is fickle." He said with a slight smirk as he ran his eyes over the man. Unlike Cassie, Gus could talk about himself for hours on end if certain subjects were avoided. "You're a very attractive sort of gentleman...."He purred slightly. "Do you swing both ways or shall I just stick with your date?" He half asked and half mused to himself. He then looked at Cassie with a teasing twinkle in his eyes. "What do you think Kat? Should I steal your date because you chased mine off?" @iris

Cassandra opened up very little. Perhaps that was why she was still single. That was fine by her. It did get lonely at times, but loneliness was easily resolved by going out to a club or bar and finding someone to pick her up. As long as the were interesting, and didn't ask too many questions, she would stay with them, and maybe even go elsewhere with them. She enjoyed the time she spent with Gus, he was fun, and quite attractive. But her favorite thing about him, was that he was loyal to her. Not in the traditional way, but in a way that they would stick together, and that they understood each other. It was also nice to kiss when she wanted to kiss, and walk away when she wanted to do that, and not get any negative repercussions. Much like the man who stood there questioning what had just happened. She didn't see anything long term with him, but she didn't see anything long term with any of the men, or women, that she spent her time with.
The man seemed rattled by the comment of the man who had a beautiful girl on his lap. Cassandra, on the other hand just smiled, seeming to per herself. "It seems that you have frightened him mon amour." She knew that she had chased away his fun, but they hadn't seen each other in so long, and she wanted to play. "We could always share." Her interest in the situation peaking as she looked at the man with predatory eyes.

The beauty of Cassandra in all her volatile passion was that her expectations of him were.. well, not. She was the type that just wanted to have fun, and Gus could for sure get aboard that little train. Fun was the base requirement of a good time, no doubt about that. Sometimes he didn't feel like living through the empty nothingness of one night stands and longed for a true connection and a person to spend his life with. If he was around Cassie during such times he was cured of the feeling rather easily. It was replaced with an empty promise of a night of fun without suffering repercussions. Sometimes it didn't really work, but that was mostly when a very specific state of mind got a hold of him. A nostalgia that overpowered his fear of commitment. Today he was in a great mood, enjoying his life and the things that came along with the lack of commitment. He was off to have a party, to drown what sorrows he wanted in the liquids the bar served and to fill whatever voids with company that wasn't meant to last. He noticed the predatory look in the eyes of his friend and felt his more sadistic side flare up slightly. Oh the toys that people made themselves into sometimes. He'd taken the wrong evening to try and chat up the wrong girl. He felt a little sorry for the fellow but then again, he'd been the one chasing the girl that quite clearly had no interest in him. It seemed only fair he'd go from hunter to prey. Gus relaxed and casually adjusted his position to one that clearly laid a claim on the woman he called 'Kat' while also indicating an interest in including him into certain nefarious activities. "I'm not against sharing, naturally." Gus said slowly, his eyes on the man without blinking. "But if he truly is frightened it might be best for him to seek his fortune elsewhere." Gus suggested, making sure that the man knew exactly what he meant by it. He absolutely hated men that simply sought to dominate and use woman. He always made his intentions clear and never let any doubt exist about the fact that whatever happened was more the choice of his partners than what he might desire. He could handle the reaction a lot better than the idea that he somehow hurt woman without meaning to. Or worse, the thought of which almost made him sick to his stomach. No, consent was key to any and all interaction. Without that, there was no good in any situation and everything could go wrong. @iris

Cassandra contradicted herself. She longed for a genuine connection. She desired true love at it's finest. She wanted a partner who would lover her for who she was, and that she would truly love them. But the girl hated to talk about herself, and could become board at the drop of a hat. This led to her feeling quite depressed when she thought about it. She had countless emotional paintings on the subject. There were times that she felt lonely. She would feel like she was so far in a hole that there was no way for her to get out, and no chance that she would ever be happy. But at times like these, she thought it best to go out. With Gus, she didn't worry about any of it. They understood what they had and there was no need to change it. Cassandra didn't have to tell him about her living situation, she didn't have to talk about work, and she didn't even have to tell her friend that she had the ability to physically turn into a cat. It she wanted to share, she could, but she didn't do that often.
As the man that she was still sitting on moved in a manner that laid claim on her for the night, Cassandra curled into him, accepting his movements and looking up at the man for his answer. It was truly his choice. By Gus' movements and words, it was clear what the man was getting into. It was his own choice to walk into this. He shouldn't have followed her. They clearly weren't looking for the same things here. "It is truly up to you Mon biquet." She smiled at at the man, and he seemed to look sick. It didn't take long for him to leave the two and find another. "Shame" She pouted her lips and looked at Gus.

She had taunted and teased the poor man and he'd walked out on them. It made sense but he knew her well enough to know she'd be somewhat disappointed that she'd been deprived of such an adventure. He shrugged carelessly. "Men like that are no good. Not to mention boring. You know from the way he acts he planned to lay claims on you that had a more... permanent nature." He reminded her as he watched the man walk off. He regretted that men of that nature existed. Most were innocent in that they did not take their claims so far that they turned truly evil but he still saw the vile effects it often had on their victims. Those that doted back were too often stripped of parts of their freedom or personality that made them all the more interesting to him. Any girl lucky enough to be loved did not see herself erased in any way, she would bloom like a flower and not wilt by the restrictions jealous lovers set on them.
He sighed then and kissed the top of her head as she leaned into him. Sometimes he did feel that urgent need to protect the woman in his life he cared about. He loved Cassandra of course, but not in the same was he loved others. It was more profound than a one night stand but nothing as deep and meaningful as the relationship he had with Sienna or his sister. He would protect her from anything if she'd ask him but would take a step back if she wanted. He didn't have that restraint when it came to protecting his sister or Sienna. He'd offer up his life for them without a second thought because the thought of losing them was unbearable. If he should die so that they might live it was a sacrifice he was willing to make. Yet Cassandra could endlessly request favours from him, that went without saying. She was his friend and he tried to make his friendships count. "Do you need anything, Darling?" He then asked the wonderous woman that had crawled on top of him. "I have nothing planned for tonight." He offered mildly, a slight smile on his face. The man made him remember things he had been trying to push from his mind. There was nothing better now than a distraction to get him back on the track of forgetfulness.
