March 10th Gabriel was frustrated. He had just auditioned for 'Spider-Man The Musical! and was dismissed earlier than he would have liked. He didn't even get a callback. He had sung his heart out with 'Good Kid' from 'Percy Jackson' and he still didn't make it.
Gabriel didn't do well with rejection, which often made him wonder why he did this as career choice. He had a hard time with things not going his way. He had his whole life. That's what came from being the spoiled youngest kid. He didn't realize he was spoiled, though. To him everything worked out, and that just made sense.
He had left the muggle theater and was now walked into Diagon Alley in the hopes of getting some ice cream and maybe saying hello to Vasilia. But, the more he walked the more his eyes started to water. He tried to shake it off, but the disappointment was overpowering him today.
Suddenly, he slammed into someone who gasped like he was under water. The dude stumbled, Gabriel grabbed his arm to help steady him. The guy turned back to Gabriel with wide eyes. "What did you just do?" he asked. Gabriel shook his head, he didn't do anything? The guy winced like he was in pain, then realized Gabriel was still holding his arm. "Let go." His tone was serious. Gabriel looked down at his hand on his arm and let go. Instantly the other guy breathed a sigh of relief. He cursed, something in German, Gabriel guessed.
"Dude, I am so sorry. Was I hurting y-" Gabriel realized that he had started to feel dizzy. Where did that come from? He swayed a little, and the other guy hesitated before moving forward to wrap an arm around his waist to support him. "Come on, kid," he grumbled, sounding incredibly irritated. "It's Gabriel," he said. "Dan."
But the more they walked together, the more they both slowed down and struggled. Finally, Dan gave up on walking. Dan stopped, leaning back against a wall, Gabriel still kind of leaning on him for support. "What's happening to me?" his voice was shaking. Dan shook his head, "your messing with me, and clearly you don't even know it," he explained, his expression pained. "Listen, I'm an empath, and normally the emotions around me aren't that strong unless I touch someone, but when-" he stopped, moving away from Gabriel so they were apart. "When I'm holding onto you it's like... I'm in contact with everyone." He shuddered. Gabriel was sufficiently freaked out. "We'll get to the bottom of this..." Dan was trying to sound encouraging, but still just seemed pissed.

March 15th
A few days later, Gabriel and Dan met up at Dan's apartment. They sat on the bed, which was apparently able to become a couch but Dan was too lazy to fix it up. They were facing each other, and Dan nodded, "okay just hold your hands out in front of you," he suggested, and Gabriel did so. Ever since their little run in, Gabriel had been trying to figure out what was happening to him. He recalled that time their family had met Matilda Lancaster, a young metamorphagi who had recently been able to change her nose shape, which was a big feat for them. But when Gabriel congratulated her, suddenly her hair became the texture of feathers and her entire face resembled a bird. He remembered another time when he took the hand of his housemate Cori, the girl with the ice cold skin, and suddenly the book she was holding become a block of ice. What did that mean for Gabriel? He had thought that was all coincidence.
Across from him, Daniel took in a deep breath, frowned, and took both of Gabriel's hands in his. He caught his breath, as if in pain, and Gabriel winced. Was he really hurting the guy somehow?
"Okay, okay... Two doors down the left, there's someone who's ...overjoyed. Next door, no one, upstairs anger, across the street irritated, ah," he let go and shook his head, and then his hands as if he could wash himself of Gabriel's powers. "Geez, it's like Cerebro," he muttered.
"Oh like ... X-Men?" Gabriel got that dizzy feeling again, and leaned back against the wall behind him. Dan immediately offered a glass of water that floated over to him. "You're suggesting - thanks - I'm an... Amplifier of some kind?" Gabriel had questioned. That sounded insane, but Dan nodded. "You won't know for sure unless you try it with other people... But, clearly using that wipes you out. And your 'victim' too," he chuckled. "But in the moment it's like... Unbelievable power," he did not seem happy about that.
Gabriel shook his head and closed his eyes. The only way to know for sure was to try enhancing the special gifts of others. Would it work for legillemens and occlumens too? Would werewolves have a better sense of smell? Would veelas be more charming? He didn't know... But he couldn't deny the small burst of excitement.
While some got nothing, he got "unbelievable power".
(Ignore the thread title 😂) [If this isn't good enough I'll write more, is a very interactive power]
