APRIL 20, 2025 Laurel had offered her time to attend the Flower Festival and be a chaperone for the students that decided to attend the second and last day that it was happening. She was excited, and a part of her was a little sad that her daughter could not attend the little event. She made sure that she would get a flower crown for her little girl and send it home for the child to enjoy.
However, instead of making her way to the crown creating area, she headed for the henna station. She was flipping through the little book that was sitting there, looking at the different designs and deciding what she was going to get. She used to love getting these when she was younger.

April 20, 2025 Honey was thrilled to have enough time away from work to visit the Flower Festival, which was all the more important to her because the event was fundraising for both St. Mungo’s and the rebuilding that was necessary in Hogsmeade. Besides owning the hospital’s tea room, she was a very strong supporter of the place and anything that was, in turn, supporting it. She knew what it was like to be a patient there, and she was more than happy to give back. So, after making a donation as soon as she arrived to the greenhouse where the event was being held, Honey went off to look around. It was a great event, or at least she thought so. It also seemed to have a sizable turnout, which was also promising. There were students from Hogwarts there, it looked like, too, as she made her way around the structure. While she didn’t think that she would be very good at the Gnome Toss, she did see something else that caught her attention immediately: henna. She wasn’t the most coordinated person, and, as such, she had never had much luck applying henna designs to her own skin on the rare occasion that she attempted it. Getting henna from someone who actually had a steady hand in creating a work of art, though, was tempting, and she walked over to the book of designs to see that another woman about her age was looking at the selection, too. “Oh, these are stunning,” Honey commented softly, glancing over at the book as the other woman flipped through the possibilities.

Laurel was distracted by her current task, that she hadn't noticed the newcomer that appeared behind her until they spoke. She let out a little gasp, glancing over her shoulder and catching the figure. Luckily, she wasn't being killed, so this person was likely not dark. She nodded her head, "Yes. I agree. Did you want to look?" she questioned, wanting to hand the book over so that the woman could look instead of having to glance over her shoulder. It was more likely that this person would get henna done then she was.

April 20, 2025 The woman who was looking at the selection of designs gasped, visibly startled, at the question. Honey hadn’t meant to frighten her and immediately felt bad for having caused such a reaction, but she understood that everyone was a little bit on edge. It was a large public event, and—more often than not—those didn’t have a recent history of ending well. Honey was glad that nothing bad had happened to her personally (nothing that she knew, at least) and was glad for that.
When the other woman got over her initial fright, though, she nodded her head and agreed with her that the designs were stunning. “Yes. I agree,” she said. “Did you want to look?”
Honey nodded, apologetic for having alarmed the woman when she had initially approached her. “Sorry,” she began, her tone as awkward as she felt over it. “Erm… If you— If you don’t mind?” she said. She had no plans to take over if the woman was still browsing.

Laurel was quite jumpy these past few weeks since returning to Hogwarts. She was worried about her daughter back home, her family at Hogwarts, and just everything seemed to worry her. And she hadn't been sleeping well, so she was on edge a lot. Even in class, she was easy startled, much to the bemusement of her class.
When asked if she wanted to look, the girl turned awkward but asked if she didn't mind. Laurel smiled at the girl, pushing the book more towards her to flip through. "I was just curious, it's all yours. If you don't mind me peering over your shoulder," she said with a small giggle to lighten the mood. Laurel wasn't looking to get, but she knew how to appreciate henna.

April 20, 2025 “I was just curious,” the woman told her after she had asked her if she minded her looking at the designs. The stranger smiled and pushed the portfolio of designs in her direction. “It’s all yours. If you don't mind me peering over your shoulder,” she added. It was clear that the woman was more at ease now that she realized that she clearly wasn’t some practitioner of the Dark Arts or anything, Honey considered to herself, and she nodded at the woman’s comment about wanting to peer over her shoulder. That was fine by her, and Honey said as much, too. “I don’t mind,” she assured her, taking up the book with her hands so that it would be easier to see the designs in detail. The designs available really were beautiful. Almost all of them were related to flowers or to plant life, naturally, but each one was different in its own way, too. Honey paused a moment as she looked over each design on that first page, trying to picture how it might look when applied to her skin.

The book swapped hands, and Laurel was left to peer over the girl's shoulder. Not that she minded, not in the slightest. It wasn't like the woman was going to get henna on her flesh anyway. If the girl was more interested in it, then, by all means, she would let her pick something. She hummed, nodding her head down at the page. "The one in the top left is pretty. Might go nicely on your hand," she mused aloud.

April 20, 2025 “The one in the top left is pretty. Might go nicely on your hand,” the other woman commented as she looked over her shoulder. Honey’s gaze moved over to the one that she had mentioned, and it was really pretty.
“Do you think?” Honey asked her, shifting the book of designs so that she could look at her own hand as well as the design that the stranger had pointed out to her. She was right, Honey thought to herself as she considered how it might appear on her own skin; it would look nice. “I think I might get that one, actually…”

Singing like it's a full moon Careless now that he has you Turns you on to the right songs Promises that you're hooked on Sweet Ophelia! While Laurel didn't believe that she would get a henna tattoo, that didn't mean she couldn't suggest someone else. She was sure that other professors likely had gotten one, but Laurel felt weird about it. She had to admit; it looked fun. But each time she looked at the different pages and designs, it drew her in more and more. She internally rolled her eyes at her train of thought. Why couldn't she get one if she wanted to? The moment she said her suggestion to the girl, the woman seemed to agree with it. She watched as her gaze moved from design down to her hand. She made a noise of agreement when she was asked if she thought that. "It's such an interesting design, I'm sure you would be able to rock it." she said, the words coming out with a smile on her face. MADE BY VEL OF GS
