FEBRUARY 11, 2025 Ellie was excited, mostly because the Ball for Valentine's Day was coming up. It was only a few days away, and she needed to get some homework done, as well as research for a paper that was due next week. She wanted it done so she could have fun, which was how she found herself walking through the Fourth Floor Corridor heading for the Library.
Her feet padded against the ground, her robes with her house color, swaying behind her. And as she was walking, she felt a tug at it. She spun around and noticed that no one was there when she felt it again. She did this a few more times before she started getting annoyed. Who the hell was doing it? "Hey! Show yourself, stop!" she cried when she heard a bit of male laughter and looked to the sky, where a ghost was laughing down at her. Her eyes widened, "Stop it!" she said, which he quickly mocked. With that, she continued her walk, him annoying her along the way.

Mazie loved wandering around the Hogwarts corridors. Even after a month, the place was still a mystery and she loved exploring it. Every day where she could learn something about the new place, she considered it a win. So it definitely wasn't out of the ordinary to find Mazie wandering the corridors, looking this way and that. Today wasn't any different from another day. She was wandering, though on her own this time. She heard someone shouting a ways ahead of her and her eyebrows furrowed. She started walking forward, more quickly. Mazie was not the type to stand by when she thought someone might need her. She turned a corner just in time to see a ghost tormenting someone. It took a moment for her to recognize Ellie. "Hey Ellie," she called, jogging to catch up with her friend. "What's going on?" Mazie ignored the ghost, hoping that ignoring him would annoy him. She was definitely annoyed that he was bothering her friend. @ellie

The ghost continued to mock her, still messing around with her as she walked. However, it wasn't long before an old friend appeared and greeted her, acting as if the ghost wasn't there. "Hey Maz. Oh...uh...nothing, I was just heading to the library. You heading there as well?" she questioned, ignoring the ghost as he tugged at her bag once more. The two of them ignoring him, seemed to annoy him, and with one final huff he disappeared. She sighed in relief, "Oh my gosh...thank goodness. I was ready to kill him all over again..." she breathed out jokingly, though a part of her was that annoyed.

Mazie smiled when Ellie started following her lead. Ellie was always quick that way, not leading Mazie to tell her what to do. Maybe that was one of the reasons the two got along so well. Mazie hated it when she had to be bossy or explain how she was trying to help others. She scrunched her nose and giggled at Ellie's question. "Me? Heading to a library? Wow, it's like you don't know me at all ..." Mazie hated books. Not so much because of the content, more because she struggled to actually focus on them for any period of time. She sighed dramatically, "I guess I can go there with you though ... just know that it's a sign of how much I love you." Seconds later, the ghost zipped away and Mazie laughed when her friend sighed. "Well, I wish you good luck if that's your goal in life. From what I've heard, re-killing ghosts is quite a tricky thing to do," she teased, unable to help herself. Then she shrugged, "It's no big deal. I wasn't really doing anything anyway. Just wandering." Which was fun in and of itself. Mazie loved exploring this castle. She wasn't sure she'd be able to find everything here in the time given her. @ellie

'Me? Heading to a library? Wow, it's like you don't know me at all...I guess I can go there with you though...just know that it's a sign of how much I love you.' The brunette rolled her eyes at the dramatics of the blonde, before letting out a small giggle. She knew that Mazie hated books, but she had made an assumption based on their current location. "Oh yes. You can help me find a book, and then we'll slip out, quick and painless," she said with a smile on her face.
She rolled her eyes, amused by the teasing of her friends before she brushed a strand of hair behind her ear. "I wish I had time to wander...I barely have lately. I wish I could just drop all my homework and studying and just disappear for a few hours," she breathed out, running her fingers through her hair as she spoke.

Mazie grinned when Ellie went along with her. "Sounds like a good plan. Get in, get what you need, get out. Then we can do something fun!" What exactly, Mazie had no idea, but she was sure she could come up with something, and Ellie could probably help. The two of them were always able to find something to do with one another. Ellie explained that she could take a break from her homework, but she couldn't. Mazie shrugged a shoulder as a mischievous smirk slipped onto her face. "You know ... working and working on homework has a tendency to burn people out. Taking breaks is a healthy thing to do, and I'm pretty good at finding fun and relatively quick ways to distract oneself from their work ... if you're interested." Here eyes held a challenge as she waited to see how her friend would respond to that. Mazie didn't believe in all work and no play. In fact, she probably took more breaks than she should, but she still got everything done ... it was fine. @ellie

I can taste the danger but I don't wanna run So pull me to the ground and I won't put up a fight I'm a caution taker, but baby you're a force of nature Baby you're a force of nature 'Sounds like a good plan. Get in, get what you need, get out. Then we can do something fun!' The brunette laughed and nodded her head, "I like the sound of that. Let's go," she breathed out. The faster they were to get in and find the book that she needed, the quicker they could head on their merry way. Of course, they would have to stop by her common room to hide the book with her things. She was not about to have fun while still carrying it around. "We'll have to stop at the Ravenclaw Common Room though...I don't think carrying the book around forever will be much fun," she added, wanting to warn her friend. Then again, it would give them more time to figure out what they were going to do. Did she want to need the book? Not really, but classes were still happening. Trying to catch up with Hogwarts, that was not something she realized she would still have to do. She wondered just how difficult her seventh year will be. She laughed, nodding her head, "And I feel burnt out. I feel like they are rushing through things now..." she breathed out. And then she perked up as her friend mentioned that she was good at finding fun and relatively quick ways to distract someone. She quickly nodded her head, "Help me find the book...and I am yours for the rest of the day. I'll do anything to take a break." MADE BY VEL OF GS

Yes! This was why Mazie liked Ellie. The girl was always ready to have a good time. She was the kind of person that Mazie could convince to take a break and enjoy life, which was exactly what Mazie wanted. The pair rushed into the library to get the book that Ellie needed. Mazie didn't exactly know which book it was and she didn't really care. She'd just walk with Ellie until she found the book, then the pair of them could have some fun. She smirked when Ellie mentioned that they'd need to stop by the Ravenclaw Common room to drop off the books. "Sounds good to me. I've always wondered what tower the Ravenclaws meet in," she commented with a quirk of her eyebrows. She wouldn't try to break in ... probably. Mazie lifted her hands in celebration. "And that's why I'm here! To save you from being burnt out for the rest of the year and into the summer!" She laughed softly, glad that she could offer her services to someone who seemed to truly be in need. "Okay, what kind of a book is it? What section to do you think it'll be in?" She wasn't opposed to helping, she just didn't want to search the entire library for something they could find quicker if they thought about it. @ellie

I can taste the danger but I don't wanna run So pull me to the ground and I won't put up a fight I'm a caution taker, but baby you're a force of nature Baby you're a force of nature The minute that Ellie had mentioned stopping by the Ravenclaw tower, the blonde got giddy with excitement. She smiled, "I would say don't try and break in later, but I know you will," she said, a grin on her face. She knew Mazie - the minute she learned where the tower was, she would try and get in. Ellie just had to make sure she somehow didn't hear the password because she wasn't sure if she'd get in trouble for another house getting into the tower. 'And that's why I'm here! To save you from being burnt out for the rest of the year and into the summer! Okay, what kind of a book is it? What section to do you think it'll be in?' Ellie laughed, "I'm going to guess potions, I need the One Thousand Magical Herbs and Fungi book. I just hope no one else beat me to it," she breathed out. MADE BY VEL OF GS

Mazie smirked as her friend recognized the look in her eyes and commented on it. Then she shrugged. "Yeah ... it's kind of inevitable." Her smile softened a little. "I don't want to ruin anything or mess anything up. I just want to see what it looks like." Were all of the common rooms the same? Were they all different? She knew that the Ravenclaws were the only others who had theirs in a tower, so it was likely the most similar to the Gryffindor common room. Still, Mazie knew better than to try and control her curious nature. She was definitely going to break in to the Ravenclaw tower ... and the Hufflepuff and Slytherin rooms, if she could swing it. She had time, after all. Her friend answered the question and Mazie reached to grab her arm as she started moving in the right direction. Mazie wasn't really the type to simply hope a book wasn't gone. She was going to go find it, and if it was gone she'd find another way to get it. She had a few bookworm friends. Maybe some of them had a copy, if it came to that. "Naaaah, I'm sure we'll find it," she reassured Ellie with a confident smile. More likely than not the library had quite a few copies. They would probably be able to find the book without a problem. "Okay, here we are! Now, you start on that end and I'll start here and we'll see who can find the book first," Mazie suggested, wiggling her eyes at her friend. @ellie (Ooc: So sorry this took so long! I had some things going on, but if you're willing to keep it going, I'm going to be a lot better at posting now.)
