Lucas was in America, studying Thunderbirds. It has been a long day, they were observing the habits of the beast as it pertains to its eggs. It was nesting season, and the best time to be in the area. He had made friends with one of the magizoologists, he was a bit older than Lucas was, but they got along. That night, they had gone out for a drink. It was a Muggle, or No-Maj area not too far from the reserve.
”Why there? Can’t we drink here?” There were drinks, and wizarding ones to count for that, but his friend shook his head “We both have tomorrow off. And I’m not going to leave the bar with you.” He said with a slight err of disgust.
This wasn’t new to Lucas. So they went to the bar. As soon as they entered, the entire female population of the bar seemed to turn their heads. The two found a comfortably small table. ”I can go sit elsewhere, if you want to try your luck.” He joked softly. Girls near by seemed to swoon. He forgot. American’s had a thing about accents. ”Don’t you dare” The man sitting next to him threatened, even softer. Lucas knew that there was a certain girl that his friend had struck out on twice. He noticed his friend scanning the bar, only to get hit repeatedly on the leg moments later. His eyes moved to two beautiful girls. At least they were young...and age appropriate. Unlike the cougar trying to move closer to him as he sat. He smiled at the girls and then at his friend. ”What will you give me?” He smiled mischievously and he heard quite a flamboyant man swoon. “What” The American with him muttered. ”How about you take over my stable duty.” He said softly. He was only helping out at the reserve, but he knew as well as anyone else that this meant taking turns cleaning out the crap...literally. “Absolutely not” protested the man. As Lucas shrugged and turned to wink at another girl who was still staring. “Fine” he reluctantly said.
Lucas got up, thankfully. The older woman stumbling a bit as his weight was no longer near for her to lean against. Walking over to the pair of girls, he strategically place himself right behind the girls friend. ”Hay mate, ya got any Bundaberg Rum here mate.” He addressed the bartender. The girls moved closer. He looked over at them and winked. The girls giggled. This was so easy. ”And two of what these lovely sheila’s here.” While he had the charm from his mother, the accent was definitely holding its own weight. As the drinks came, he motioned to his friend, who was now sitting totally alone, as if he was completely invisible. ”Care to join us for a drink” The girls quickly agreed.
After getting back to the table, it wasn’t hard to direct the one girl to his mate. He just gave more attention to her friend. She wasn’t bad looking, and it didn’t take long for him to be leading her out of the bar. Abandoning his friend and hers, to get to know each other better.
