JANUARY 23, 2025 Kataleya and her brother had come over to England only a little while ago, under the guidance of Ambrosia Hong - a witch that had found them and taking a liking to their potential. And probably because she knew them to be murderers. It had taken some time for her to persuade the young twins into helping in her pursuit of knowledge through experimentation, but eventually, the twins agreed to it. Thus, they moved to England with the woman and placed their foot within the world as her apprentice.
Kataleya had also taken a job as a shopkeeper at her mistress's shop that she owned in Knockturn Alley. It was a bit creepy, but at the same time, she found herself interested in everything the little place had to offer. She was locking up the shop for the night, the moonlight shining in from the windows that lit the area, and the candlelight flickered around her. She waved her wand, the lock clicking into place and she started blowing out the candles.
Tonight was the night; she was going to ask Ambrosia to teach her one of her many skills of the mind. She had been interested in for so long but never had anyone to teach her - until now if the woman would allow her the chance.

Kataleya had been handling the front of shop the past few hours, and was in charge of closing tonight. That didn’t mean Ambrosia wasn’t around though. In fact she was in the basement, which acted as both a storeroom and a minor lab for Ambrosia. She kept only a few of her least controversial projects here because her shop had fewer protections then her home and the Purifier’s base. Unfortunately she couldn’t implement the same level of protection at the shop without raising suspicions.
Today though she was processing several crates of new product. There was a few steps that had to be completed before a product was ready to be shown and sold. Authentication, identification, enchantment testing, and then pricing. She was just finishing an enchantment test when the clock chimed, indicating closing time. Ambrosia took off the thick dragon skin gloves she’d been wearing and set them down next to the bone pendant she’d been testing. A glass dome was placed over the pendant a few seconds later. Only then did Ambrosia stand and step away from the work desk, and went up the stairs.
”Kataleya, after closing can you check our shipping records for who sent the bone pendant?”

Kataleya was used to closing the shop by herself, by now at least, which lead to Ambrosia finding her responsible enough to do so - seeing as this was her first job. But that didn't mean her employer was far away, usually down in the basement doing shop things for the next day.
The young witch was always on her toes, so when the older woman appeared and addressed her, she wasn't spoked. She never spooked easily - especially after the childhood she was subjected to. She nodded her head, "Yes madam," she said as she finished up what she was doing and made her way towards the front counter, where a giant book of records was kept.
She began flipping through the brittle pages, skimming over before she found the shipping records and slowly slid her finger down the lines until she found the bone pendant. "There are two in here, madam. One from a Davis...though that one looks sold already. The other is from a Burke." she said, looking up at the woman. It seemed that a first name was lacking unless that was their first name - which was just sad.
