There was fire and heat everywhere and it burned. Flames licked at her skin like hungry werewolves longing for a meal. The only relative cold and protection came from the strong embrace of two arms. Soft pain mumbles of apology escaped his lips. She merely strained not to show her pain. Not long, it only lasted for a moment…
A'dam woke with a start, breathing hard. She needed to feel cold against her skin. The hot summer night always brought the nightmares back. She got out on bare feet, but the floor had long since lost the winters cold. With a slight grumble she grabbed her wand. She only needed a moment to cool down. She could not risk trouble to her house by leaving the common room. They were close to the kitchen and they were bound to have ice there.
With that thought in mind, A'dam threw her mind out of her body and into the kitchen. The moment the house elves saw her they instantly brought her ice, knowing her random visits in this manner were usually for that purpose. She smiled and thanked them as she plunged her hands and feet into the ice water. It was cold and she could feel her body cooling down quickly. As she cooled her mind started to drift back to a peaceful slumber, her astral form dissolving like snow in the summer sun….
