Although many students were dismayed by the sudden downpour that badgered Hogwarts, Jessie was absolutely thrilled. The smell, the dampness of clothes, and the dark grey light peaking through the clouds were all things she adored about the rain. With her back propped up against the Common Room couch, Jessie was content enough to gaze out of the window.
She had been reading, but the distracting sound of rain against the glass window allowed her book to fall from her hands. Occasionally, her attention would be brought toward's the portrait as it swung open and shut. This time, her attention lingered when she noticed someone familiar emerging from the doorway. A grin instantly danced across her lips.
"Oh, Eve! Come join, will you?" she asked the other brunette, as she padded the spot on the couch beside her.

Eibhleann had been making her way toward the quidditch pitch when it began to rain. She had planned to get some practice in during her spare time, she usually would spend most of her time studying in the library or hanging out in the common room with some house mates but today she needed to practice her flying skills. She'd made the Gryffindor team at the start of the term but just as a reserve which was better than nothing in her opinion, at least she had tried her best but of course there would always be those who were better than her. Eibhleann would always strive for greatness and success, it was something she was taught by her family; to never give up even if things became increasingly difficult. It also helped that Eibhleann was incredibly stubborn, even though this trait didn’t help with her social life.
The young brunette made her way up the ever changing stairs in her half wet gym wear with her hair tied in a loose ponytail. Eventually she made her way to the Gryffindor tower, she uttered the password and the portrait swung open allowing her inside the warm common room. The smell of rain filled her nose and it wrinkled slightly before a familiar voice caught her attention from the middle of the common room.
A small smile spread across her face as she instantly recognised who was calling her name; Jessie Marie Meadows. They’d known each other since their first year and had become pretty good friends. It was rare for Eve to have many friends as she wasn’t a very open person and was afraid of betrayal if she trusted anyone. This was of course different, the young gryffindor had recently grown into this trait so it hadn’t affected her social skills until her 4th year at Hogwarts. Eve lazily propped her broomstick in the corner of the room before she sat herself down next to her friend.”It’s lovely to see you Jessie, I bet you’re enjoying the rain!” Eve giggled slightly before he tucked her feet underneath her bum.

"It's lovely to see you Jessie, I bet you're enjoying the rain!," her dear friend said. Jessie's smile grew even larger, as the Quidditch player sat on the other end of the sofa. "Ah," she said, falling back even farther into the crease she was snuggled up in. "Absolutely. Isn't it just wonderful? Nothing could ruin my mood. Nothing at all. Though, I am craving a warm butterbeer right about now. And maybe a cute wizard to go along with it," she babbled, casting her friend a quick wink.
Of course, Jessie had never had a cute wizard to snuggle up with. In fact, she hadn't given much thought to dating until recently. It was hard not to wonder what it was like to be coupled up with someone, when several of her friends were in relationships now. As far as she knew, no one fancied her. She blamed her so called ability to 'word vomit'. Babbling on wasn't a very attractive feature it would seem. She just didn't know when to shut it.
"Speaking of cute wizards and witches, any luck on that forefront recently? If so, teach me your ways, sensai," she said, folding her hands and bowing dramatically at her friend, before falling into her couch crease once more with a large giggle.

The young Irish girls was used to the rain, living in Ireland meant it rained on a regular basis. That didn’t mean she liked it at all. It had interrupted her plans for the day and now Eve would have to stay in the common room. Eibhleann was a very active young lady and preferred being out and about, not being stuck indoors because it was raining. The brunette’s clothes were slightly damp, but not too much so she didn’t have to go to the girls room to get changed.
Eibhleann giggled slightly at her friends before she smiled, “Well, I’m not particularly happy it’s raining. It ruined my plans for the day..” She trailed off slightly with a sigh. “Although I do like the idea of butterbeer, maybe a cute lad to go along with it!” Eibhleann had never been particularly successful with her love life, but she was still young so she didn’t really need to worry about it a lot.
“Don’t be daft!” her thick Irish accent stuck out like a sore thumb, if she spoke quickly it was difficult to understand her, which was probably why she never really attracted the oppisite sex.

Jessie giggled at her friend's response concerning boys. "Right, I reckon quidditch keeps you busy enough," she teased, gesturing towards the girls exercise attire. Quidditch was something that she had never gotten into, despite her love for American soccer. Perhaps it was the heights, or the lack of time available to fix one's mistake if they were hurdling off of a broom. She did enjoy watching her house play, and almost always decked herself out in red and gold as an act of support.
"To be right honest with you, I could almost swear off boys. I got assigned to work with a rather grumpy one the other day. I think it cost me ten years of my life," she said, a little aggravated. "I couldn't stand to be that negative about school. I mean.. I love being here. I love the classes. I love the people. Everything."

Eibhleann grinned when Jessie commented on quidditch keeping her busy. Currently she didn’t have time for romantic connections, majority of the time she was studying and completing assignments for various classes. When she had any free time she took as an opportunity to practice her quidditch skills, so a male companion was the last thing on her mind. “Well, it certainly keeps me busy but I don’t particularly mind.” The brunette smiled and crossed her legs to get into a more comfortable position.
The gryffindor listened to her friend complain about a boy she had been paired up with in class and Eibhleann couldn’t help but giggle slightly at the situation. “Surely it can’t be that bad?” Although she didn’t understand why someone would complain about being at Hogwarts, Eve had always been quite thankful to have the opportunity. .

She leaned forward, placing her elbows on her knees, and pouted, "Eve... It's horrible. He's infuriating. Even for a Gryffindor!" She sighed, recalling the dramatic explosion in the greenhouse. "I mean, I was so angry with him. He threw the chomping cabbage on the ground, rendering it useful. Then I just kinda.. well, exploded. I started throw pots at him, and shoving him. Merlin, he's driving me up a wall," she ranted, pouting ever further. "Don't even get me started on his hair."Her interactions with him were turning her into such an angry person. That wasn't like her at all, and she couldn't stand it. He just rubbed her the wrong way. Jessie frowned at the very thought of him. It was a pity too. The conversation they had the other night was actually pleasant. But it must have been a fleeting moment. Something that probably wasn't going to happen again. She turned her attention back to the Quidditch player sitting in front of her. "Oh, I just don't know what to do. It's making me an unpleasant person. It's draining to be around him."
