BEING A MEMBER OF THE Purifiers only meant each day was different than the others. Rue hadn’t seen the full potential or power within the group but every moment she stayed, she saw a rise in it. It was hard though, lying to the ones you loved because you were a part of something others wouldn’t understand. But with the Purifiers, they didn’t really know her by name, but instead the trusty potioneer they went to for vital potions for a thought out plan. Or if you were someone like Ares flipping Lestrange, a potion to guarantee you would be fucked up for the night was all he cared for. Rue had no clue why Mina was obsessed with that jerk until the two started seeing each other more than often. Rue just hoped they didn’t bump into him today. Maroon hoodie on, with the hood covering messy brunette curls and thick rimmed sunglasses to cover the deep bags forming under the Weiss’ eyes from their countless nights out from partying, Rue stepped through the mirrored portals into the base. She noticed the lack of people but that was somewhat natural, not all members came together unless an event was up.
Aside from being utter chaotic with experiments and giving them to members to trial run for her, Rue was also glad for the space that was provided for her. It was like a lair, squashed into one large room and as she turned the corner, her aim was just to relax in there all day. To ride the wave of a cool down and experiment with some more potions. That’s what tweaking and eventually mastering her skill would be like anyway. Rue’s Room was the last door on the left, shielding the contents of the inside from the outside with a magic lock. Rue knew any simple opening charm could unlock it, but she also remembered the faces of each Purifier member. If any of her things went missing or out of place, she knew who to target first. Quietly she casted Alohomora, rattling the lock off its slot and opening the door. On the counter top was a note from Ares and Rue rolled her eyes. Merlin, he was annoying.
The Weiss then shrugged off her maroon hoodie next, fingers flicking at it for wandless and non verbal magic to hang it up on a peg behind the door. Honestly what would Rue do without magic? They headed towards the small swivel seat, legs stretching out in front of her as she recalled what she needed to do first for the day. @ambrosia & hopefully this works!

One of the younger Purifiers had been causing quite a stir in the potions department. From what Ambrosia knew the girl was ambitious, creative, and quite talented, but also unrestrained and undisciplined. And in the world of science? There was nothing more dangerous than someone that lacked control.
Ambrosia wasn't exactly a 'common' face around the hide out, preferring to keep to the shadows. Plus, she was also quite skilled in going unnoticed and being forgettable in a room. Despite her usual low profile she knew she needed to have a chat with this girl, before an experiment got out of control and the Purifiers suffered for it.
One of the Purifier grunts that Ambrosia often used for her dirty work came by her lab, letting her know they'd seen "the trusty potioneer", a frilly name the girl went by. Ambrosia hmph'ed softly, a sore taste left in her mouth that the girl was hiding behind an alias, and got up to go meet this so called "Trusty Potioneer". It wasn't hard to find her, the girl had set up her own little lab in the base.
Ambrosia didn't bother knocking, instead just walking in as the girl stretched her legs out as she sat. "You're younger than I thought you'd be." Ambrosia wasn't really in a formality's mood, instead making sure her presence was known.

SEEN AS THE NEW MEMBER of the Purifiers wasn’t essentially a big deal for the next person. But when you caused a ruckus with experiments, brought in unknown deals for others to purchase your potions well…Rue Weiss was certainly…A big deal. Rue kept to herself ever since becoming a member, only speaking to others when she deemed it necessary or speaking to her mentors that thought there would be better potentials in her works if she just tweaked a few techniques. All criticism was constructive for the Weiss and the more she had, the more she felt delighted, knowing someone actually liked her work.
Taking a seat in her small swivel chair as she took it upon herself to check upon her small schedule of tasks she wanted to have done by the end of the day, Rue was ready to swipe her fingers across, to use magic and tick off things she had already done and prepare the other things she needed to do. Until an unfamiliar voice cornered her in her small quarters of her lab. Rue knew she didn’t hear the knock of her door like she usually would from the members she had spoken to before so clearly…The voice was someone who believed they had power. Perhaps they actually did have power….
The brunette looked up, the rim of her dark sunglasses falling down the bridge of her nose so tired eyes looked up at the woman. It was safe to say Rue had no clue who she was and vice versa. She seemed important though, especially from the get-up, but the Weiss couldn’t be too sure. ”Not a day over twenty one.” She said in response, feeling her lips creep up into a small smirk. ”I must say…I didn’t expect anyone here today. So…What brings you here Miss…?”

As Ambrosia examined the girl, her interest peaked. The girl didn't look like much, just like your average teenager. Not what you'd expect for someone with her reputation. But, that was also the key. Few expected Ambrosia to be the sort of person she was either. She was very good at putting on an act for those not privy to her secrets. So, just like you should never underestimate Ambrosia, she wouldn't underestimate this girl. Wild, undisciplined, but talented. And talent was really what mattered. You could teach anyone discipline, but you couldn't teach talent.
The girl was very relaxed as she looked at Ambrosia, and answered. Not a day over twenty, though Ambrosia already assumed that. "Hong. Miss Hong." While many members of the Purifiers tried to call her by her first name, she was usually quick to correct them, if the opportunity was there. She was older, and more experienced than these teenagers, and so she wasn't going to be on a first name basis with them. Not because she didn't like, or respect them, but because that was simply the way she was raised. You respected your elders in certain ways, and elders meant anyone older than you. So, she demanded the same respect she would give others. "I heard you've been causing quite the commotion."
(eh, just assuming that IC Rue would already know she's part of the lab section, and should at least know the name of the head of that group.)

USUALLY, RUE WAS THE SHY type. But since the woman already gave off an intimidating vibe for the already tired Weiss, charisma was all she needed. Though, the woman’s name didn’t ring any bells at first, Rue began to smirk, continuing to swipe off things she had done and ready to read what needed to be done. Until it sunk in. Hong. Ambrosia Hong? Eyes widened, Rue looked up at the woman, giving her complete eye contact and her fear settled in a little more now. For Merlin’s sake Rue, she was the head of the lab section!
Clearing their throat, Rue’s fingers intertwined with another, like a school-child who had been scolded for doing something wrong. Rue wasn’t necessarily afraid of Ambrosia just … afraid she’d do something if Rue stepped out of line. Better to be cautious than reckless. ”My…Mistake Miss Hong…Just experimenting with potions here and there for our front-liners as well as the odd request for Mr Lestrange.” Way to throw Ares under the bus.

It took only a moment, but then the girl was meeting Ambrosia's gaze full on. Recognition, fear. Ambrosia smiled softly. It was always nice when you saw the reaction your name had. Though, in this particular situation she wasn't exactly trying to be intimidating. "You're not in trouble," Ambrosia said slowly. Maybe the words would reassure her. "I should clarify. What I mean is you are making an impression. An impressive feat for a potioner." Ambrosia stepped away from the girl, her gaze now wandering and taking in the girl's set up. Nothing fancy, but from what she was seeing thus far, effective. "Usually in our line of work our names are forgotten. No one cares about the person who created the potion, the poison, the concoction, that they are using. We're just tools. But you've created a dependency. They have to know you, or at least your existence."
Ambrosia wasn't one to compliment easily, so her previous comments were unusual. She'd stepped up to one of the tables, examining the contents, though not touching. You didn't mess with a scientists things. "Although, that praise comes with a warning. Create too much dependency and you will see the cruelest side of man. You'll see just what people are willing to do when their dependency becomes desperation." Ambrosia turned back to the girl, her gaze steady. "You seem like someone that isn't worried by that prospect. A risk with the trade. But I can assure you, it's a poorly calculated risk. Your work shows a great deal of potential. But you'll never reach it unless you start considering risks."

RUE WISHED THEY HADN’T SMILED the way they did just moments ago. A cheeky shit-eating grin, in the face of someone that was somewhat — or rather…Completely your boss. Way to go dumbass. But the reassurance from the woman was fairly…nice to hear. It was nice to know Rue wasn’t in trouble for the first time in her life. ”Oh..I see…” Was this?..A form of a compliment? The situation felt all too formal for the Weiss, a situation she hadn’t found herself in since she was last at Hogwarts, scolded for being outside past her normal time with Mina. Whew, back to the good old days. If Mina could only see Rue now…In her element and thriving off from it. ”Is…That so?…” The other…members knew her? Holy crap! But wasn’t that a bad thing?
The warning soon fell through and Rue found herself understanding quickly. Risks were one thing Rue gambled with daily. Take the risk and potentially fail the task, or follow through to avoid the risk and the task overall becomes boring. But Rue was thorough, she hated an unfinished job. ”So you’re advising…I take more precautions?…More than I already do?…” Rue’s list of precautions usually lasted weeks of preparation. A deal with a customer never begun unless all the checks followed through, and very few slipped through the cracks of the Weiss’ hands. Especially ones with people she turned out to know. But other risks…Like testing her own product…Were always ignored. Always. ”Is this in regards to the requests I’ve been taking lately?…” She had been taking more than she can juggle for the upcoming plans for the Purifiers but…Rue only wanted to prove her worth.

Ambrosia clasped her hands behind her back and turned to face the younger woman. It was hard to read her emotions, though at least Ambrosia knew the girl was listening. From what she'd heard, this girl wasn't always the listening sort, so that was progress. "You need a better front," Ambrosia explained as the girl questioned needing more precautions. "I was able to find you without knowing your true name and without much effort," she started to explain, pausing only a moment. "All it took was asking the right person and they were able to send me directly for you. While my resources are quite different then the average wizard it makes me wonder. How many outside our organization would be able to do the same?" A strong front would at least give the girl a better defense to being found so easily. When Ambrosia sold anything she made it go through at least five dealers before getting to the buyer. That way if someone ever got to the first, they couldn't lead them back to her. It would take quite a bit of work to go down the chain of dealers. Plus... the final dealer happened to have a few... memory gaps, thanks to Ambrosia's skills. So he couldn't give her identity regardless.
At the question of her requests, Ambrosia's eyebrows raised a little, surprised. Then, her expression relaxed and she finally smiled just a touch. "No. You show a great deal of promise. Your talent deserves to be shared. I have a few upcoming projects I may call on you for." Cryptic, but also extremely high praise. Ambrosia stating that she wanted this girl's talent on an upcoming project. It also made one wonder.. Just what was Ambrosia planning that would need this girl?

CURIOUS TO HEAR THE WOMAN’S answer, Rue kept her mouth sealed, listening to every piece of advise Ambrosia provided. She began, stating Rue needed a new front and for a moment — Rue almost had no idea what the woman was referring to. ”A front…” The Weiss repeated in a whisper while her mind drew mental notes of the Hong’s comments.
”Isn’t that the point for a line of customers?…Be identifiable but not entirely easy?…” Rue was unsure if they should have been offended or not. Sure, they didn’t have a line of defence the same way the Purifiers did, but it was still rather hard to find her. Especially with her weeks of planning just a mere appointment to see her clients.
But then again. Advise was always a bonus for the Weiss’ own success. ”I didn’t have…much access to dealers the same way I do now…” It felt like a necessary comment to mention, but it was true. Who wanted to deal with a ‘kid’ in their early twenties who liked getting fucked up on their own product? No one truly. Rue watched as Ambrosia’s expression changed slightly, and much to her relief, the long thread of requests wasn’t even an issue. ”O-Oh!…I see…” Withholding her true excitement at the statement, Rue managed a smile at her and nodded instead. ”I’d be honoured to pick up any kind of project under you…” It gave her more to work on anyway.

The girl was mulling it over, the wheeling turning and turning.... Though not quite understanding fully what Ambrosia had meant. Ambrosia wouldn't hold it against her. Perhaps she should explain a different way. "How familiar are you with the CIA of the United States of America?" She paused after the question, providing the younger woman a moment. Ambrosia turned around, slowly starting to walk through the lab, hands clasped behind her back. "When dealing with cyber security, the CIA give their greatest threats two options. Join them, or be locked away forever. Many governments, including magical, have a similar response. They see something dangerous and give them a choice. Join, or..." She paused once more. She stopped her walking, and looked over her shoulder at the girl. "They make you disappear." Ambrosia looked away, focusing on one of the beakers. "No doubt if you are on my radar, you are on the Ministry's. Since you're still here, they haven't realized how much of a threat you may become."
Ambrosia was silent for a moment, still gazing at the beaker. Finally she turned fully to face the girl again. "I can see your potential, and the dangers lurking in your future. I want to see just how far your potential will take you. But to do so, the threats of your future must be dealt with now. I can teach you how. I can teach you to be powerful, but invisible. A puppet master." Ambrosia didn't offer to "teach" anyone anything often. But this was a special case. This was a girl with the drive to succeed, and the raw talent to actually achieve it.
Ambrosia smiled just a little as the girl agreed to assist in Ambrosia's projects. "Good. You're not squeamish with human test subjects, are you?"

AT THE QUESTION RUE FELT stumped. She wasn't old nor was she completely young. They felt for a person who was in their early twenties they knew quite a bit. Ambrosia somehow proved her wrong. Rue didn't really partake in Muggle affairs nor their law and justice systems but for a moment, considering how long Rue had been living in England, she almost forgot what the CIA even was. "Familiar but not entirely knowledgable upon them." She responded, nodding as she listened to Ambrosia. The older and wiser woman referred to how the CIA dealt with their threats, giving them the options to join the CIA or be locked away before referring to how governments in a magical aspect do the same. And that was something Rue knew of. It was one of the top reasons why Rue only dealt with Hogwarts students in Hogsmeade and never really during their time there. Or even at Ilvermorny Unless it was with Mina, the only close friend the Weiss actually ever had.
Rue swallowed slowly at the mention of disappearing. Sure, she liked being a ghost but she didn't want to disappear entirely. But Ambrosia was right, Rue needed a new line of security before her threatening level even grew. "I see.." She muttered, hand rubbing at her temple as she thought of what to do, but Ambrosia's words caught her attention once more. "Teach me?.." Rue understood the possibilities she could get from someone like Ambrosia and before she even knew it, the Weiss found themselves nodding. "How?...And where do I even begin?.." Since Rue's beginning for her potion journey, the brunette was sure they barely had any enemies anyway. But with Ambrosia proving her wrong...Rue wanted to change it. Remain invisible for as long as she could.
"Human?.." Rue considered her options for a moment. Decline and lose the possibility of seeing how her potions worked on someone other than herself and Mina? Or accept and possibly harm a few people along the way. "Not at all." She said, smiling up at the woman. If Rue could experiment on herself and even Mina, how bad would other people be?

Ambrosia had many, many projects in motion. Personal and for Elaine. But in particular Ambrosia had one project in mind that this girl's skills would prove especially useful. This particular project had been.... evading her for quiet some time. A fresh pair of eyes was exactly what she needed. With the right training, perhaps this girl would be that fresh pair of eyes. Ambrosia couldn't help her dark smirk. No one would be ready for that project if it succeeded. The girl asked where to even begin. "I'll show you."
This girl still had a lot to learn, but she had potential. The potential to be a force of nature, a silent devastation to the wizarding world. If given the right tools to do it. And Ambrosia had the right tools. Ambrosia's motives weren't entirely selfless however. Ambrosia used everyone, including her own "comrades". She had a very selfish motive for reaching out to this girl. But, in the end, they both would benefit. "Well then, I look forward to working with you,"
And, then, Ambrosia left. She had big plans, and she had to prepare...
(End!!)
