Jessie was carefully sneaking her way out of the kitchens, stomach full of late night donuts. It wasn't very often that she snuck out of the dorms for a late night sugar fix. But tonight was one of those nights. As she tiptoed down the corridor, she could hear footsteps coming her way. She froze, fear creeping into her sugar-filled arteries. Great. If a prefect found her, her house was about to lose quite a bit of points.
She quickly backtracked a few steps, before pressing her back into a corner. She held a hand over her mouth to quiet her breathing. Jessie allowed herself a second to consider how humorous this situation was. It was as if she were hiding from one of the Azkaban escapees. A small chuckle left her lips, before she caught herself and slammed her hand tighter against her mouth.

Sleep was escaping him tonight, not really having any particular reason other than his brain was more awake than his body. Considering he just wandered out of his dorm without his glasses, good thing he could see without them. Well to a degree, he was farsighted. So it worked out, so long as nothing got close in his face. Though a yawn escaped him as he rubbed the heel of his palm against his eyes. Bare feet thudding against the floors, sure there was a curfew. But he just wanted to wander the school for just a little bit. Not that he didn't care for the point system, because he did. He just wasn't competitive toward stuff like that, when it was school work and getting the attention of a pretty girl? Now that was probably the ambitious nature of the male but regardless he didn't let that particular show, he knew a few of his peers that'd skin him alive if he made them lose points. So a quick walk around the corridors and he'd be back in his dorm before anyone was the wiser. That was until he heard a stifled giggle, causing him to pause in his stride as he slowly quirked a brow. Was someone up as well? Glad to know that not everyone was normal and had trouble sleeping like he did, so he slowly scratched the back of his neck. Moving toward the corner where the giggle came from and leaned against the opposing side, a curve of his lips pulling upward into a lopsided smile. "You know, we're not supposed to be out at this time."@jessiemeadows

It would be just her luck. To get caught eating of all things. Jessie rarely ever snuck out, and never was it for anything nefarious. Boys? Never. Drinking or smoking? Never. Donuts were the only thing she ever felt worth sneaking out for. Merlin, she would never hear the end of it if she was about to get caught. Gryffindors were fiercely competitive when it came to, well, everything. She also hated to be the cause of anyone's upset. Jessie inwardly cursed herself out for wanting a sugary sweet so bad.
Her breath had all but escaped her lungs when someone rounded the corner. As the boy came into view, Jessie's body quickly sagged in relief. He wasn't one of the Gryffindor prefects, thank Merlin. As he leaned against the opposing wall, she also chose a more relaxing posture. She fell back even farther against the wall, struggling to lower her heart rate. "Sorry," she breathed, giving him a small smile. Her head came to rest against the wall, dark hair falling in waves down to her waist. "I was scared to death you were a prefect." As she began to regain her normal composure, she became acutely aware of the situation at hand. A cute boy was across from her, and the little lioness was dressed in her pajamas. Embarrassment quickly flushed her body. "You'll have to excuse my attire. I didn't expect to see anyone out so late, hence the pajamas."

He chuckled as she mimicked him in the relaxed posture he was emitting before resting his head back, blue eyes observing her for a brief moment of her being in her pajamas. But so too was he, but his eyes had drifted to her boon of donuts and slowly shook his head. An amused grin spreading upon his lips. "Sorry," he heard her breathe, causing him to fold his arms against his chest as he tilted his head to the side. His blue eyes lifting to meet her face again. "For?" "I was scared to death you were a prefect." "Not as stuck up to be one, so rest easy. No need to get all house-elf crazy about a sock because you're about to get in trouble." He reassured as he unfolded his arms, tucking them within the pockets of his green pajamas. Watching as she now realized that she was in her pajama's, watching her face grow a shade darker under the dimly lit corridor. "You'll have to excuse my attire. I didn't expect to see anyone out so late, hence the pajamas." His brows to rose, before his blue eyes shifted to the side as soon as she stated the obvious. "Nah, nah. It's cool. I couldn't sleep so that's why I'm wandering around... so I'm in mine too.@jessiemeadows

"You'll have to excuse my attire. I didn't expect to see anyone out so late, hence the pajamas," he said, his eyes shifting to the side. Although it was dark, Jessie could still that her face was tinged pink. Right, of course he was in his pajamas also. It was the dead of night. It appeared that she wasn't the only one who couldn't sleep. It was a pity, honestly. Sneaking out for snacks nearly always coincided with her being unable to sleep. She ought to be careful. Tonight's scare might ward her off from kitchen runs for the next few weeks.
"Well," she said, giving him a small grin. "Donuts seems to do the trick for me, and I clearly have more." Jessie stretched her arm out, her baggie of donuts open for the taking. As she waited for him to take a few, she began talking once more. "Since I'm being ever so kind and giving you my snacks, I might as well introduce myself. I'm Jessie. I'm a sixth year, in Gryffindor."

He rocked on the balls of his feet, running his tongue along his bottom lip before he drew the flesh in between his teeth. Having bashfully drew his stormy blue gaze to the side before his hand risen to scratch the back of his neck. "Well," She had spoken, causing his blue gaze to flick to her from the side. A brow quirking as he saw her grin, causing the corners of his lips to pull upward though he was both confused and curious. "Donuts seems to do the trick for me, and I clearly have more." "You're literally getting food from the kitchens, this late? Are you a Hufflepuff?" He jested as she held her boone of goods in good fortune for sharing. He contemplated if he should take a few, but decided on obtaining the smallest one. Staring at the powdered donut, before his shoulders pulled up in a shrug before taking a bite as she began to speak again. "Since I'm being ever so kind and giving you my snacks, I might as well introduce myself. I'm Jessie. I'm a sixth year, in Gryffindor." "Mmm ya didn' haf tou." He spoke around his mouthful of the rest of his donut before he shifted his gaze to the side again. What the heck, Graves? Wiping his mouth, he cleared his throat after he swallowed it down with haste. "Anyways... uh, I'm Addam. Seventh year, Slytherin." Just in that regard, Crowe trotted on after him and yowled up at him. "Didn't I tell you that'd I'd come back once I wandered enough of the halls?" He reprimanded his familiar with a soft tone as he picked up the tuxedo cat. Letting the cat purr in his arms, before he cleared his throat as he returned his attention to Jessie. "Nice to meet you, by the way."@jessiemeadows

"Mmm ya didn' haf tou," he said with a mouthful. Jessie's eyes and noes crinkled as she let out a quiet laugh. She would have laughed louder, however she was still cautious as to not get caught. "Yes, I do quite enjoy snacks late at night," she informed him, tossing him another grin. She too took a bite of a donut as he declared his house and year too her. As Jessie wiped the powder from the corner of her mouth her thumb, she began to say, "Oh, seventh year. Have you made your career choice then? Must be bloody nerve-wracking."
Just as she was about to take yet another bite, a feline yowl made her jump. She promptly dropped her donut and gasped ever so slightly. She held a hand over her heart, as she realized it was just a cat. "My goodness, you may have to restart my heart if there is going to be another surprise tonight," she teased, slightly out of breath. It was an adorable cat, however, and she was quickly able to forgive and forget his startling entrance. "Looks like someone is keeping an eye out for you."

"Oh, seventh year. Have you made your career choice then? Must be bloody nerve-wracking." The question caused the Slytherin to cough, before clearing his throat. Scratching the bridge of his nose before he cast his gaze further to the side. Taking in the empty and dark hallways as he contemplated on giving her an answer. "Would it be safe to say.... that I kind of forgot all about that. Shit, uh... crap I mean." Addam was used to having an articulate vocabulary that resulted in curse words that weren't particularly favorable. But more often than not he just used it to express moments of panic, exasperation, or excitement. Anything else would have been extremely rare to the seventh year. The yowl of Crowe caused the girl to drop her donut, however, causing Addam to quickly outstretch his hand as if he had wanted to stop it from happening. But it fell upon the ground nonetheless and he just curled his fingers back into his palm. Letting out a soft sigh before he bent down, picking up his familiar as she regained her composure. "My goodness, you may have to restart my heart if there is going to be another surprise tonight," she had teased, causing Addam's stormy blue eyes to flick up at her before chuckling himself. Shaking his head as he scratched Crowe just behind his ears. "Looks like someone is keeping an eye out for you." "He's just a precautious little thing, never likes it when I can't sleep and wandering the halls. Insomnia is not a friend of mine." He chuckled as Crowe wiggled in his arms before crawling up to wrap around the back of his neck. Resting his head upon his left shoulder as his yellow-green eyes observed the female before Addam. "But don't let him fool you, he likes to be a bit of an ass."@jessiemeadows

Jessie sighed as he talked about Crowe. She so dearly wanted a cat. However she was afraid that it would cause chaos back home. Her Muggle sisters would shriek about having a cat from 'that sort of life'. They weren't very accepting of her being a witch. "How long have you had him?" she asked, leaning away from the wall to gather a better look at the creature. As he lay nestled around Addam's neck, she smiled kindly at Crowe. "He cares for you, that's clear, even though he may be a bit of an arse," she said, giving Addam a quick smile.
Just as she had begun to settle into a relaxed state, just thought she heard more footsteps coming down the corridor. A quick confirmed that no one was around besides the three standing in this particular corner. Merlin, tonight had made her paranoid. She may have to start asking the elves to just bring food to her when she couldn't sleep. Or maybe she should grab a stash before heading to bed in case she were to wake up.

"How long have you had him?" The question caused Addam to flick his stormy blue eyes toward Crowe, a soft smirk pulling at his lips as he scratched the feline's left cheek before he pulled his shoulders up into a shrug as she leaned away from the wall she had been perched upon to observe the cat wrapped around the Slytherin's shoulders. "I've had him for about seven years now, he's the one that made sure my wand was properly hidden but it still got broke so unfortunately, I had to replace it anyway." He pressed his lips tightly together at that particular detail. Ever since the disaster at Ilvermorny, his life had been tilted sideways. Not to mention things had become far more careful and precautious for the students. Not that he blamed the professors, but every now and then he felt a little confined. "He cares for you, that's clear, even though he may be a bit of an arse," "Ah yeah, that he does." He agreed, thankful that she changed the subject before taking notice that she was getting paranoid by the smallest of sounds. Which only caused him to chuckle slightly, shifting his weight to the opposing side as he crossed his arms against his chest. "Skittish?"@jessiemeadows

Jessie sighed, leaning back against the wall behind her. "Yes, very skittish. I'm not one to normally break rules. And truth be told, I've become careful in the last few years," she admitted, giving him a small smile. As she talked, a small yawn made its way through her lips. Looks like the donuts were starting to work their magic. With her tummy full, she was finally starting to get sleepy. Despite the small jump scares she kept experiencing. Her doe eyes watched Addam and his feline for a moment.
"I was supposed to go to Ilvermorny," she said, allowing himself to have a bit more information about her. "I'm from Georgia. But my parents requested that I go here instead." With all that happened between with her sisters... it was better for her to be far away. Though she constantly missed being in her hometown.

"Yes, very skittish. I'm not one to normally break rules. And truth be told, I've become careful in the last few years," He nodded in understanding as his stormy blue eyes fell upon the tuxedo cat wrapped around his shoulders. Before the girl started to yawn, which in turn caused him to mimic the gesture. Gosh, they weren't lying when they said that yawns were contagious. Pressing the back of his hand to his lips, he stifled it as his other hand scratched the side of Crowe's face. "I was supposed to go to Ilvermorny," His brows rose at her informative information before he jutted out his bottom lip. Nodding at the thought as he dropped the hand pressed to his lips to his side. "I'm from Georgia. But my parents requested that I go here instead." "That's pretty cool, I haven't met many American's in Hogwarts but the ones I do don't think I'm weird when my lingo is different from theirs.... or don't think I'm an dunce for not knowing theirs. Ahahaha," He paused laughing awkwardly, shaking his head. "But I'm from Salem, Massachusetts. Which was fairly close to the Ilvermorny school. so that's where I was for a while before I was transferred here." He explained, giving off a part of him not many people knew. But it wouldn't have been very hard to ask him considering he was a nice guy in the long run. He just was a bit of a competitive jokester when he was close to people. "You probably miss the America's about as much as I do. It's sort of strange here... you know?"@jessiemeadows || sorry for the wait!!!

She was transfixed with Crowe as Addam spoke. Watching the two of them together made Jessie wish she had an animal companion. Her attention snapped back to the boy standing in front of her, when he mentioned being from Salem. "Now that's honestly kind of awesome. Rich history," she said, grinning up at him. She nodded in agreement, acknowledging the fact that she too missed the Americas sometimes. "I miss the familiarity. Though, Hogwarts is my home. I don't know if I'll go back after graduating," she admitted, shrugging.
"I'd rather stay here. All my friends are here anyway. There's not much in Georgia." It was an unfortunate truth. Jessie honestly thought she'd be happier in the United Kingdom. The British Wizarding World was what she was familiar with. Not the customs of that in the States. Her folks might want here home. The same couldn't be said about her sisters though.
