Travis stepped back, only a little bit, to give her space. A part of him felt a little guilty by the scared look on the blondes face. He never wanted to make her uncomfortable, she was the only person he actually cared about other than himself. His expression faltered when she explained that she didn’t want anyone to know that she couldn’t swim. A small laugh slipped past his lips because that sounded stupid to him. He couldn’t believe he didn’t know such huge secret about his significant other. ”Its okay, Rach” he promised her, stepping toward her for an embrace. ”Lemme show you...” he insisted with a careful smile, reaching for her hands if she’d allow him to take them.

Travis stepped away from her and Rachel took a deep breath, trying to calm herself. How had she let it come to this? Was he going to be angry at her? Annoyed that she'd kept such a secret from him? She just ... always felt like she needed to be strong for him. She wanted him to think of her as capable and fearless, and most of the time she was. At least, she used to be. Since they got out of Azkaban, she realized she wasn't quite that way anymore. It was taking some time to adjust her perspective back to what it had been before. He laughed and Rachel's lip started quivering, before he stepped back again as he told her that it was okay. It was ... what? She shouldn't be, but she was always blindsided when he had more patience with her than he did with anyone else. He moved to embrace her and Rachel welcomed it, letting him take her hands and even stepping a little closer to him. She knew what he was going to do. He was going to try and help her with her fear. And she wanted ... she wanted to let him. "Okay. Just ... just take it easy, please," she whispered, her voice trembling a little. Merlin, she wished she didn't feel so weak right now! @travis

This afternoon outdoors already started for an interesting turn. Travis was a bit taken aback about the fact that Rachel couldn't swim. It was more endearing than anything, he was confident that he'd be able to show her if she'd allow him to. The convict was never known for his patience but he had all of the patience in the world for Rachel. She was his world. Swimming would be a good skill for Rachel to learn in in case they ever got in another situation where they needed to swim to get away.
Travis held her hand as she hesitantly agreed. "C'mon Rach...just trust me." he insisted, treading water ahead of him so he could be in front of her. Trusting Travis wasn't the first thing people wanted to do when they saw the man, but he'd stay true to his word. "I promise I won't let anything happen to you." he told her, starting to pull her so she'd walk a bit deeper. "I think we should get waist deep for you and you can start off by try to make yourself float. All you have to do is relax." he instructed, watching her to see what she would do and if she'd agree to float. Travis slowly fell back into the water, dunking his head back before coming up easily to float. "Just try it, babe." he encouraged her with a soft smile.
