Graduation, 2025
The poignancy of the Hogwarts graduation ceremony wasn't lost to Felix Fortescue. He had begun his education at the school with a very different identity from the one with which he was leaving it. His dead name and his former pronouns might be left in the castle, he hoped. As soon as he was officially an adult, he would be able to live his life on his terms. He could discuss otransitioning as something in the present, rather than as some vague goal for his future.
He made conversation with a number of his fellow students—both those in his year and those who would remain at Hogwarts in the coming years. "You know where to find me," he joked to one of the younger students. The ice cream parlor was another home to him, though maybe Vas would let him take the Hogsmeade cart out into the village on occasion once Hogsmeade weekends were back in the autumn.
The quarantine was both a blessing and a curse. On one hand, Felix hoped that it meant more business than usual for the ice cream parlor. On the other hand, he didn't need to catch Hag's Fever and pass it on to his father, who was already ill enough without the new disease.
As he finished up speaking with yet another person, Felix got the feeling that someone was just behind him. He turned around and smiled.
