Exmoor Quidditch Stadium
Exmoor Quidditch Stadium
Going into her sound check, Camila had worried that she wouldn’t perform to her usual standard. Her rehearsals for the earlier tour dates that hadn’t happened due to the quarantine had been cut short for a similar reason—her own hospitalization with Hag’s Fever—and she didn’t want to let down the fans who had come to see her on the one tour date that was going ahead mostly as planned. With the rescheduled dates for Paris, Barcelona, Lisbon, Rome, Milan, Zürich, Munich, Berlin, Copenhagen, Warsaw, and Budapest left undecided due to the British Ministry of Magic’s regulations, her team had made the decision to admit those with a valid ticket for any of her previous dates. Was this going to be the biggest concert of her career so far? Were Galleons upon Galleons going to St. Mungo’s for it? Without a doubt, and Camila was prepared to give it her all.
Singing entirely in English for a stadium show for the first time, too, was daunting, but her rehearsals had gone better than she had anticipated. Her manager, Germán, had acquiesced in response to her wanting to cut some of the choreography that she had originally planned to include; she knew that it wasn’t her strength, nor was it why people were coming to see her perform. Germán had also agreed to her two alterations to the setlist: a cover of “This Is the Night” by the Weird Sisters, the song that had helped to launch her career, and a performance of “Beso del Dementor” (known in English as “Dementor’s Kiss”), the song for which she was best known from her self-titled first album.
Everything had been tested and tested again, from the special effects and outfit changes to the security procedures, and Camila waited with anticipation from below the stage as she heard the crowd in the stadium cheering her name—or her stage name, anyway. After she had been brought back to reality by her illness, it was strange to remember that she had such a large following. Then again, she had been living and working in London for months. Maybe it wasn’t so strange, she thought.
Taking a deep breath at her cue, she ascended from the trap in the floor of the stage to the sound of cheers and screams. “Hello, Exmoor!” she beamed, her voice magically amplified by her microphone. She could do this.
The concert will begin at 19:00 (7:00 PM). All attendees will be subject to search.
