January 20th, 2014 Age 7
Wednesday had a terrible, terrible dream. Mom was in an accident on the set of her latest film. The injury wasn't serious, but for a seven-year-old, it was very scary for Wednesday. She woke up screaming in the middle of the night and waking most of the house.
Wednesday sat up in her bed, her screams quieted into quiet sobbing and sniffing. She tried to wipe away her tears with the covers of her bed, but they just kept flowing. A light in the hall turned on, the light peeking under Wednesday's door. A little creak, and April Weekly poked her head into the room.
"Wednesday?" April's voice was soothing but wasn't enough to stop Wednesday's tears. Hearing her daughter's sniffles she opened the door fully and entered. "Oh honey, what's wrong?" April crossed the room and sat on Wednesday's bed beside her, a hand raising and brushing her hair from her face.
"I had a b-b-b-b-bad dream. You got hurt."
"It's okay, sweetie. It's just a dream. They aren't real, remember?" April shifted and rubbed Wednesday's back soothingly.
"It felt r-r-r-real," Wednesday protested. She knew dreams weren't real! But this one was different. Somehow... April smiled and pulled Wednesday into a warm hug, holding her close.
"Sometimes dreams do that. It can be really scary, but when you wake up it's all over. You're safe. Want me to stay with you a while?" Wednesday nodded.

A week later, Wednesday went to the movie set with her mom. She'd promised she'd be good, so April had finally relented. During an action scene, one of the lighting rigs came loose and crashed on to the set and into a window. The glass shattered and flew everywhere. Everyone was fine, but April had gotten a nasty cut on the arm from one of the shards. Wednesday had, rightfully, screamed at the incident, but most the crew had. It wasn't just because it scared her though. It was because Wednesday had seen the accident.
In her dream.
Dreams were real.
