Aura couldn’t help herself, and she made a face as Saturday shed some light on the Weekly family and their matching names. Maybe it was rude, and judgmental, but she was a rather straightforward person and it was difficult for her to hide her thoughts on a subject. Not that she ever tried much, anyway. But she was starting to develop opinions about niche subjects like naming children so they were all part of a set, and the inevitable judgment they were bound to receive as a result. Still, it’d be better not to be too blunt on the subject, so Aura paused for a moment to gather her thoughts – although it was inevitable that her blunt personality would shine through. “Well, maybe I can call you Sterling, then,” she suggested. That wasn’t too bad. “Unless you prefer just being one of seven. In which case, Saturday works. Or something else there are seven of, like a dwarf. Dopey.” Yeah…there we go. That was more like her.
Her eyes drifted to Silver’s ice cream (which despite being called Ice Mice Mint was looking significantly less frozen) before she refocused her gaze on Saturday – or Sterling, whatever. Still, at the reminder that her brother was waiting for her, Aura’s face softened. She wasn’t a very expressive person (her tone and her words tended to do most of the communication here), but she really was very fond of her brother in a way she wasn’t of the vast majority of people. “Merlin, yeah, he’d just make me come back for another one if I let it melt,” Aura agreed.
She started to make her way out of the ice cream shop, nudging the door open with her foot as she had both hands occupied with the cones. At Saturday’s goodbye, she paused before responding, “Yeah, see you around.” If he was going to be spending more time around Silver, and following the logic that the twins spent most of their time together, then it was natural to assume that she’d be seeing more of him too. “Say hi to your sister for me!” Aura called out after him (she did like Thursday) before heading off in the other direction to find her brother.
