It was a beautiful day outside, and the young Indian boy had been out for a walk to enjoy it before the sun disappeared for the evening. It was the time right before dinner and it was Friday, so the grounds were filled with students chatting and playing games (fanged Frisbee anyone?). Friday always seemed like a day where everyone was happy, even though piles of homework were waiting for them tomorrow. It was as if everyone had the same plan as Raj; no homework on Fridays. Friday should be used for relaxation and fun. It did not matter how much homework he had, he never did it on a Friday. Sadly, the boy had no plans today. He had gotten off class a while ago – he only had four hours of potions today, so he had enjoyed the day to the fullest.
Raj picked a dried brown leaf from the big oak that was standing near the water and twirled it between his fingers as he continued his walk pace alongside the shore of the dark lake (feeding the giant squid anyone?). He had no idea where he was going, and as he noticed other students slowly heading inside, he knew that it was time for him to do it as well. It was soon dinner, and his stomach was roaring like a Gryffindor lion. Having four hours of potions made him miss out on lunch, so he had only had breakfast today, and the apple he had put in his bag before going to class.
Raj turned around and headed inside. When he entered the Great Hall, the seats were already filled with chatting students. The boy took a seat by his own table and greeted a few of his housemates as he took a big loaf of bread and a bowel of hot vegetable soup. It smelled delicious, and he closed his dark brown eyes as he inhaled the nice scent. A familiar scent of some herbs reached his nostrils and made his mouth water. Raj quickly rolled up his sleeves and started eating with great pleasure. He broke a piece off the bread and dipped it into the soup before putting it in his mouth. A happy smile slowly formed on his tanned face. Later some from his house had of course joined him, and they had first broken off the party when the sun was setting and the food was gone. Now he was just sitting almost alone by the Hufflepuff table and sipping to the last of his pumpkin juice while watching the other students.

Scorp was too good for the system.
At least this was what he thought when he entered the Great Hall and ate amongst is snake brethren. He really had gotten bored talking to them at every. single. meal. When things started to die down, he decided he wanted to get to know someone knew. What fun was life if you just sat around doing the same thing every second of every day with the same people? Nope. Wasn't fun.
He picked up his plate and started his search for someone to talk to. He hovered near the Ravenclaw table as his eyes hovered upon Rose Weasley about halfway down. He shook his head and kept walking. What was it about that girl that made him always want to stop and taunt her about something? Why did he dislike her so much that he thought about bugging her all the time? It didn't make sense to him. Nope.
He kept walking until he saw a boy that he was unfamiliar with sitting near the Huffle table, almost completely alone. Perfect! He made his way over and plopped down next to the guy, setting his plate down. "Hey, I'm Scorpius," he said, jumping right in to the introductions. Scorp wasn't one to doddle about nonsense.
