“Look, Rosie. Don’t you think that after everything you’ve been through, you deserve to let loose a little?” Esther had her arm linked with her friend’s as she basically dragged the poor recently single woman towards The Leaky Cauldron for a self proclaimed girl’s night out. “It’s time to start living a normal life again!”
Esther let out a laugh as they walked side by side down the cobblestone path of the alley towards the old pub. Rosie may not have been entirely open to the idea at first, but Esther was persistent and a very convincing person who usually always got her way when she willed it. Of course she had her friend’s best interests in mind, and the blonde had really missed her during the past year. This was a great opportunity to get out and relax like the old days! To catch up and chat, have a few drinks, maybe even a dance… This Head Nurse was excited for the possibilities to say the very least! She wanted to help Rosie to ease back into her old life, and to help her through her breakup, and what better way than to get her tipsy and laugh the night away together?
As they entered the pub, Esther held the swinging door open, pulling Rosie reluctantly inside behind her. Plenty of heads turned to watch the duo stroll in, chins hit the ground and cheeks grew flushed, but the former Pukwudgie barely even noticed because it wasn’t at all out of the ordinary for her. Rosie had even told her that she wasn’t too keen on going out to busy bars with Esther because of all of the attention she received from men, and sometimes a combination of that attention mixed with alcohol could land them in some uncomfortable situations. But Esther didn’t care - she was a big girl and she could take care of herself. Sauntering up to the bar, she slid onto a stool, her body facing towards her friend, ignoring the obvious glances coming from all directions. She gave a bright smile and then asked “what are you having?”, and waited for the bartender to come over and serve them.
When the bartender approached them, she put on a charming smile for him. “Two firewhiskeys, please,” she chirped, blue eyes twinkling before turning to Rosie and giving her a spirited wink, “Might as well make them doubles, too!” she added. Oh yes this was going to be fun indeed! The man went ahead and poured both of the women a very healthy serve of the cinnamon whiskey each and then told them sheepishly that it was on the house - in fact there were enough wizards to have approached the bar in the past few minutes offering to buy the pair drinks that their whole night might as well be considered drinking for free from this point!
Esther arched a brow at her pal and gave a frisky shrug of her shoulders before extending her glass for a cheers. It was amazing what you could get away with when you were two good looking girls out at a bar! There had to be some perks to the otherwise self-determined curse that was being a Veela. That's how she chose to look at it, at least.
