standing at 5'2" with a slim frame, sporting long light chestnut hair and big green eyes upon her pale round face with freckles, yvette and her twin look exactly the same. there is no telling them apart besides the beauty marks on their face, while yvette's is on her left cheek, her sister's is on the opposite side. she does have her ears pierced once and likely will keep it that way. her hair is usually left to hang down to mid-back but there are times when she pulls it back into braids, a messy bun or even a pony-tail, but that is very rare. much like her sister, yvette requires glasses but often is seen wearing them due to a fear or losing the contact in her eye (has already happened once).
another thing that she and her sister have difference in, is their way of dressing. she is usually seen in bright pastel colors, especially blue and pinks, but there are times when she rocks bright colors. usually seen in dresses, there are times when she can be found in a big fluffy sweater and leggings or jeans. she usually stays away from boots and heels, instead sporting sneakers or flats. she has a neckless around her neck, a locket that she bought at an antique store that holds a family photo of the de snaijer family, on the left is her father and older sister, and on the other side is her mother and the twins. but she knows that the picture is of them all together, smiling brightly.

overall personality:
Much like her mother, she holds a stubborn bone in her body, one that always seems to show itself when she sees something that she wants or has made up her mind about something. She’s also quite family oriented, believing that family comes first above all else, making her loyal to those that she loves. She was raised to live life to the absolute fullest, not letting anything bring her down, not even those that wish to hurt her, something that has made her very free-spirited. But while she shows much promise as her mother’s daughter, there is a bit of her father in her. She is incredibly resourceful, brilliant, and is the type of person that would stand in front of an arrow to protect those that she loves.
While Yvette resembles the perfect combination of both her father and mother, there is a bit of her personality in her. She keeps to herself, for the most part, some would even call her a loner, but that is because she is quite shy. Once you get to know the young woman, you will see just how sweet and funny she is. She’s astonishingly smart and a gifted young girl, she also a quick study, something that helps her in the long run.
However, Yvette is a little jealous beneath her soft exterior, she craves attention from others and enjoys stealing the spotlight. However, due to her co-dependency, she puts others needs before her own - especially her twin sister, Yvonne. She is also quite naive and gullible, but she hides it well beneath her happy and determined persona. After her parent's death, Yvette somewhat went into herself and feared to get close to new people, even coming off as a bit blunt and cautious towards others. Unlike her sister, who she is often confused for, she is the best person she can be with a soft heart and a kind smile--yet people still flee sometimes when they see her.

history:
Laboring twins was not an easy feat for the Iowa native, but she powered through. Even with the pain that crippled the pureblood, she continued to birth her twin daughters into the world. Midnight struck, and after hours of labor, Ruth De Snaijer welcomed her daughter, Yvonne into the world, a few minutes later, Yvette joined her. While this wasn’t her first pregnancy, having birthed another daughter only four years before the birth of the twins, they were still ecstatic, and the parents rejoiced. Their father, however, had wanted at least one boy within the mix to carry on the line of De Snaijer, but he enjoyed a house full of girls just as much – his siblings could carry on the family name.
Raised in a pureblood family, the girls had a life rather easy for them, but none would say they were spoiled. They were a normal family with a perk of having pure blood within the wizarding community and were highly respected by other families. Their parents, being Aurors for the American Ministry of Magic, made them even more popular among the rest. Each girl was raised at home, waiting for the day their letter to Ilvermorny would come in the mail, and they would be off to school in no time.
For the first eleven years of their life, the twins were like peas-in-a-pod, Yvette practically followed her older sister around the house and played with her whenever she was allowed. They were close, extremely close, and did almost everything together while their older sister was away at school. When their letters arrived in the mail, and they were whisked off to Ilvermorny, it was Yvonne that calmed the young girl down as they waited for the sorting ceremony, praying that they shared the same house. The only time Yvette thought she could be brave, was when her sister was around, and this ceremony would reveal just how different they were.
Yvonne went first, the light of the crystal inside the horned serpent’s forehead glowed, and she watched as her sister went towards her new home. The moment Yvette walked up, chanting that she wanted to be a horned serpent beneath her breath, the beating of bird’s wings was heard instead. Her heart sank, her eyes fell towards her sister at another table as she walked towards the cheering home of Thunderbird, where she was welcomed with open arms. The entire feast, she just sat there, not hungry at all as she tried to catch a glimpse of her older sister, either of them.
While they were separated at night from each other, the first few nights were filled with night terrors that Yvette couldn’t calm herself, and instead, she stayed awake looking outside the dorm room windows. Luckily, they saw each other in classes and sat next to each other, and any free time they spent together was nice as well. However, their bond felt broken, even with the share classes, free time and holidays at home together—they were never going to be the same.
Their bond slowly faded away as the two girls continued the next two years at Ilvermorny, and it wasn’t until the end of their third year that they would inevitably be separated in full. Their parents were dead, killed by a dark wizard that claimed their father’s life first and took their mother not long after. Their life changed after that, her sister turned cold and sour, and Yvette was left with an empty void inside her, especially as they learned that none of their family were in America and the only place to go was to their paternal grandmother, a woman by the name of Lila Grace De Snaijer. She lived all the way in London, and before they all knew it, they were moving over there and transferring to Hogwarts. Of course, as time went on, they learned that Ilvermorny had been attacked and shut down, resulting in all the students that wanted to or were able would be transferring as well.
When the new term started, Yvette had hoped that her luck would change, perhaps the new sorting ceremony would place both herself and her sister in the same house. Alas, she was wrong. While Yvonne put the hat on her head and it screamed out Slytherin, she was lucky that her older sister, a seventh year, was placed in the same house as she was. Time went on, and Yvette found herself struggling to keep up with the school’s differences in teaching, the first few months were hard, but as Christmas neared, she finally was able to keep herself on her toes and figure out what she needed to do to survive Hogwarts for the next three years. She started making new friends, both from Ilvermorny and from Hogwarts and was able to get herself back on track. It was strange to think that this was her new home, just as London with their grandmother would be their new home.
Luckily for the young girl, her fourth year was pretty uneventful, except for the fact that her twin sister had been attacked during the dragon's attack at the winter festival. She worried about her, but her grandmother kept telling her that she was okay. Returning to Hogwarts, she kept an eye on her sister, making sure that she was okay. Life continued on, and eventually Hag's Fever spread throughout the Wizarding World, resulting in everyone being trapped in Europe. That was the one good thing about living with their grandmother in Europe, she didn't have to live in the orphanage and be separated from family.
site events reaction:
Yvette hasn't been affected by anything that has happened in the Wizarding World. Having been in Ilvermorny during many of the deaths and attacks on Muggleborns and King's Cross Station. She eventually moved to Europe, and was ultimately not affected by the explosion of Ilvermorny - though it did make her feel a little upset, especially cause it reminded her of home. The only thing that openly affected her has been Hag's Fever, seeing as it is something to worry about, and the attack at the Quidditch Match - sure, she hadn't been there, but all the deaths were horrible. Especially because she lost a few friends in that attack.
