Simon couldn't remember the last time he ever obsessed over a girl. The past two weeks were complete torture for him. Not only was he slapped twice within 24 hours, his heart was aching, due to his own stupid decisions, but he knew that he was learning from his mistakes. Simon was at a complete crossroads when it came to girls and he was also very confused. Claudia was an absolute queen but she didn't seem to want anything more when it came to a relationship. And she was involved with Nate which was becoming more of a nuisance for his own mental health. The half-vampire couldn't help but feel like that ship had sailed, but he enjoyed every moment he spent with her. She was enchanting and they had grown closer than ever over the summer.
Then, there was Jessie. One of the sweetest and smartest girls at Hogwarts. Before he fucked up, she was giving him genuine romantic attention and made him feel like he had never felt before. After she left for the castle two weeks ago, he found himself feeling like a lovesick puppy. About a week after Jessie left, Simon heard from Sofia about Nate giving Jessie attention at a party. It made him feel sick. Simon felt stupid for believing that Nate wouldn't go behind his back and do such a thing. He didn't know how to handle it, so he spent the week playing quidditch harder than ever, but he couldn't get Jessie off of his mind. All he wanted to do was make things right with her again.
When Jessie returned to the Svendsen residence on the third week, Simon was anxious to have her back in the room next door, but he knew this was his time to fix things with the lioness. He would do anything. Even with his sister threatening him if he went near her. Jessie didn't make it easy for him to apologize either, she told him to leave her alone and ignored him, so he left her alone in peace to unpack.
On the second night she was back, he slid a handwritten note under her door without knocking, but he knew that she would see it on the floor at some point. Simon set a pretty flower arrangement outside her door to show that he was making an effort to apologize and make her smile. He quietly snuck back to his room and closed the door, relieved his parents weren't home for the evening to question why there were lonely flowers on the floor of the hallway. If Sofia were to come home he would just deal with her wrath, he didn't really care anymore. Simon sat in his room with his sketch pad working on anything to distract his mind.

Jessie thought that she couldn't feel any worse than she had the week following her explosive departure from the Svendsen mansion. Her heart ached every single day, despite constantly being surrounded by her best friends. And then she went to another party. Which subsequently led to her sleeping with Nathaniel freaking Forrester. She was starting to think that going to parties would inevitably lead to either poor life choices or emotional turmoil. Probably both. The girl never imagined that her first time would be with... well, him. But combine the drinking with her recent heartbreak, it was a recipe for a disaster. She had wanted to be desired so desperately, and she had found that in the form of one of her least favorite people. While she had enjoyed and savored every bit of that encounter while it was happening, the regret had already sunk in by the time she awoke the next day. She was disgusted by her own actions. The Lioness didn't want to admit it, but it was meant to be a slap in the face to Simon. Just not the literal kind, like she had already given him. Though she didn't know what Nate's intentions were, she still felt guilty for using him as just a body. Jessie was still brewing over her actions, when Simon and Sofia's mom had owled her. The letter had been simple. It was a quick 'we miss you' and a 'do come back.' Another guilty feeling had her reeling over the letter. She hadn't exactly realized how Mrs. Svendsen might have been affected by her leaving. The pair had grown quite close since summer had started, leading Jessie to even go so far as to consider the woman as a motherly figure. In the bat of an eye, Jessie was back at the Mansion. Her manners demanded it. Despite how dreadfully awkward the rest of the summer may be, she wanted to remain in Mrs. Svendsen's good graces. The first night she was back, Simon had approached her room to talk. It rattled her nerves to hear his Swedish accent beckoning to her, but she stood steadfast, and told him to leave her alone. His actions were still fresh in her memory. But now she had her own baggage to add to the pile. She was ashamed, and despite her unhappiness with him, she didn't want him to know what she had done. Her second night there was quiet, as she spent her time reading and lounging around her beloved room. There had been no word from Simon, which she took as a comforting thought. Maybe they could avoid each other easier than she first thought. Around 10:00 o'clock that night, Jessie had decided to venture into the kitchen to grab a soda. As her feet hit the soft carpet, she noticed a note lying on the floor. That was odd. She reached down to pick it up, before opening the door to investigate. She halfway thought Sofia was making some kind of joke. Her eyes then landed on a colorful flower arrangement. Okay, now she was confused. Her expression showed her bewilderment. Note still in her hand, she picked up the flowers, before retreating back to her room. Her feet stopped abruptly, gluing her to the middle of the room, once she noticed the signature at the bottom of the note. Line by line she read the note, mind running rampant as she scanned every word. The lioness placed the flowers on her dresser, before sinking onto the side of her. Over and over she read the letter. His apology, his admission of feelings. It made her heart both soar, and sink to her feet. She had a million questions. And her own admission for him. Just as quick as she had sat down, the lioness was up and on her way to Simon's room. The half-vampire deserved to know what she had done, and she was sure it would ruin everything his handwriting had told her. As it currently stood, she was undeserving of his apologies. Now it was she who had messed up, the thought causing her to ache yet again. Jessie stepped into his room, expression practically sorrowful. She held up the note, eyes seeking his own. "You wrote this? And the flowers, that was you too?" she asked, voice soft and full of concern. She halfway hoped all of it true, but also that he may not have written, allowing her to be spared the embarrassment of telling him of her escapade with Nate. "If you did, and you meant every single word in this note, then there's something I have to tell you," she said, voice breaking at the last minute. The burst of emotion hit her rather hard, and tears welled up in her eyes for the millionth time that summer. simon sixten svendsen

It was about a half-hour until Jessie came into his room. The anxiety in his chest was growing and he was starting to regret his decision of spilling his feelings to her on paper. It made him vulnerable to think she and Sofia would dissect it if they weren't on good terms, it was so personal. She opened the door and stepped into his space with a face full of grief. The sadness in her voice made his stomach drop. His eyes met hers as she held the letter up, asking if he wrote it, as well as the flowers. The half-vampires expression softened and he nodded his head in response to her questions, "Yes, I did." he confessed, suddenly feeling guilty like maybe he shouldn't have.
The lioness followed by telling him that she had something to tell him. Simon wasn't sure if he was ready for such news by the pained look on her face but he braced himself. He closed the sketch pad and stood to his feet slowly, taking a step toward Jessie but not too close, though every fiber inside of him yearned to do so. "I meant every word," Simon told her solemnly, bracing himself for whatever she may tell him.

Her heart nearly burst out of her chest, as he confirmed that the flowers and note were indeed his doing. She wanted so badly to wrap her arms around him and just forget the harsh exchanges and what happened. But it wasn't going to be as simple as that. They were going to have to rebuild what they had mutually both ruined a few weeks ago. That was if he even still willing to be around her after she admitted her truth to him. As the handsome half-vampire stepped towards her, Jessie held up a hand to stop him from reaching for an embrace, but he had already stopped. As he declared that he meant every word, another joyous feeling battled with an anxiety-ridden one. She took a shaky breath in to prepare herself for whatever was about to go down. Here goes nothing. "Right now, I feel like I don't deserve your apology," she began, voice wavering. Jessie could feel her body quivering, her nerves completely wrecked. "It wasn't just you that messed up. I made a mistake too, Simon, and I need you to know about it before you feel sorry for everything that happened," she said, her eyes fluttering around the room, looking at anything but him as the tears in them began to slowly leak out. "I slept with Nathaniel," the lioness said, finally dropping the bomb. I can't make any excuses for it, because there isn't one." Jessie could feel her resolved rapidly deteriorating right in front of Simon. "I'm sorry," she choked out, wracked with guilt as her tears fell rapidly at this point. simon sixten svendsen

Simons insides were churning, he was overwhelmed with so many emotions he was going into overdrive. His heart beat wildly out of his chest, skin hot. There was so much he wanted to say but his voice was trapped in his throat...fuck, was this what love felt like? He felt like he was slowly losing his mind, he was on the brink of tears like some little sissy boy.
The Lioness confessed to her sexual escapade with Nate and his stomach sank, but something about her being honest and guilty about the situation gave him relief. He didn’t want to tell her that he already knew from the devastated look on her face, he could feel her sadness seeping out of her. The thought of what Nate did to manipulate her into that situation made him sick, he didn’t know how to confront the snake without getting into a physical altercation, so he was avoiding it like a cowardly lion.
Simon took another step towards Jessie to close the distance between them, unable to stay away from her any longer. He desperately wanted to console her, “Jessie, it’s okay” he told her softly, gently cupping her tear soaked face. “That doesn’t matter,” he promised her, icy blue saucers softening as he pulled her into his arms to hug her tightly, face buried into her hair. ”I’m sorry too”

Relief overwhelmed the lioness, causing her to body to sag after being held taut from tension. Her eyes looked into his, the softness there confirming his words. It was okay, she thought. Jessie wasn't sure what reaction she had expected from him, but she was glad that this was the one he had. She was still discontented with herself for doing something beyond moronic, but his words of affirmation soothed her aching soul. She wasn't naive though, and she was sure there would be a more in-depth conversation about it at a later point. But at least he was going to be merciful. She collapsed against him as he pulled her forward into a hug, a small sob leaving her. It came from both a sad and happy place within her. Jessie buried her face in his chest, no doubt wetting it with her tears. "It's okay," she sniffed, hugging him back tightly. They sat there for a moment, caught up in their embrace. Her tear-stained face eventually dried. She was thankful for that. She hated to let anyone see her cry, even Simon. "Well... This is a crazy turn of events," she said, laughing awkwardly as she pulled away from their embrace to look up at him. Her hands slid down his arms, catching his hands in a hold. "I was prepared to ignore you for the rest of eternity," she informed him, giving him a small pointed look. She was a girl after all, and the Claudia ordeal still made her reek of jealously. To imagine Simon with anyone but herself was painful and enraging. She'd have to work on that, especially after he was being so gracious about her mistake with Nate. simon sixten svendsen

Simon couldn't believe that after two long miserable weeks, he had Jessie in his arms again. The weight that was holding his shoulders down was suddenly lifted and he could breathe again. He knew that after ditching Jessie at the party for Claudia that he'd have to work up to the point they were at before, they couldn't just jump right back to where they left off. As much as Simon longed to kiss her lips and feel her skin dancing under his fingertips again, he had some making up to do.
As Jessie's hands slid down to hold his, giving him one of her classic 'pointed' looks, it actually kind of struck this time. "Thank you for not ignoring me for all of eternity." he told her graciously with a small smile, lacing his fingers through hers. Simon gazed into her warm brown eyes with true adoration, his smile spreading, "Will you go on a real date with me, Jessie?" he asked her, his tone a mixture of happy bashfulness. Simon never went on a date before, he had no idea what he was doing but he was willing to figure it out with Jessie.

His smile triggered her own, making the corners of her eyes upturn. "You're welcome," she responded, teasingly regal. Small butterflies danced around within her as he interlocked their fingers. It was an intimate move, despite their touching and near nakedness from previous encounters. How had they never held hands before? Then she remembered that the whole idea of exclusivity was foreign to him, or had never really been a goal of his before. That was changing, clearly, shown by his request to take the brunette on a date. She tried to mask a surprised expression, but bits of it peeked through. "Oh?" she said, giggling slightly at his bashfulness. She didn't want to poke fun at him because the request was sweet. "Sure. I'd love that. But you don't have to go all out for me. I'm not hard to please," she informed him, giving him a happy grin. Jessie didn't need a candlelit dinner or a huge, romantic gesture. The letter and flowers were breathtaking and made her heart pound, but she was content just being in his presence. As their hands remained webbed together, she realized that she hadn't gotten to see his hand healed to its entirety. Always the perfectionists, she lifted his hand to examine, pleased to see that there wasn't a single sign of the injury he had sustained a few weeks okay. "Nice," she grinned, feeling a little cocky. "I think I'll make an alright healer one day," she said, beaming with pride. Her thoughts fluttered back to that night, stumbling over the memories of their intense interlude. "I can't believe you fell asleep that night," Jessie informed him, cheeks warming from the thought. simon sixten svendsen

A wave of relief came over Simon the longer Jessie stood in his room with him. He could feel the tension between them slowly releasing. All he wanted to do was hold her in his arms and celebrate the end of a two-week hell streak. Their hands intertwined was a new feeling that made the pit of his stomach warm and fuzzy. Simon never thought he'd be one of those people. As Jessie smiled at him at his request for a date, his smile widened, she told him that he didn't have to go all out for her because she wasn't hard to please. Simon squeezed her hands gently, "Well, it's a good thing you're easy to please because I've never been on a date before," he confessed with an awkward chuckle, ears going red. Simon wasn't used to allowing himself to be so vulnerable, it felt like he was living an out of body experience.
When the lioness pulled his hand up to examine his injury from the night he stumbled into her bedroom, he smiled at her cocky comment. She had every right to be cocky because she was good at what she did. Simon nodded, "You will make an amazing healer one day," he agreed with a knowing smile. Jessie was a smart girl, she was capable of doing anything if she put her mind to it, there was no doubt she'd go far. Simon rolled his eyes when she mentioned the night he passed out in her room, the comment catching him slightly off guard since he wasn't expecting her to bring up that night. It was the crescendo to everything between them before he fucked up. "I can't believe you were willing to go all the way with me when I was so sloppy!" he exclaimed, the embarrassment failing to be masked behind his voice. Simon never wanted to give Jessie Meadows Blue Balls.
Now that Simon had the lioness smiling in front of him again, he was feeling overwhelmed with relief and gratitude. The half-vampire was a little caught up in the moment, unable to wipe the stupid smile from his face. His hands were still cradled in hers, "Soo, am I allowed to kiss you?" he asked her in a tone mixed with careful playfulness, a slow-spreading smile curling at the corners of his lips as his gaze attempted to match hers.

It was odd to see Simon so candid and warm. He had always had a brutally honest attitude towards nearly everything, but not about something as fluffy and romantic as this. It wasn't an unwelcome site, just a surprising one. She thoroughly enjoyed this side of him, and she wasn't willing to risk ruining the moment by teasing him. It was cute how concerned he was with the date, stating that he'd never been on one. Aiming to ease his worries she said, "Well, I've never been on one either. The bar is set pretty low," giving his hands a soft squeeze. Jessie was sure it went without saying, but Simon was the person who held most of her 'firsts'. First love interest, first kiss... Nate just happened to beat Simon to her most important first. It didn't matter though, and hopefully she could forget that she and Nate had done anything eventually. The Lioness beamed with pride when Simon said she would make an amazing healer. Hearing that from him gave her an ecstatic feeling. His exclamation made her grin, as she caught the embarrassed tone in his voice. Their constant need to challenge one another was slowly reviving, as she felt pleased by his chagrin. The short girl's grin grew wider, as she batted her doe brown eyes up at him. It might have been too soon, but the need to tease and challenge was too great at the moment, because of their two week separation. "I was willing to go all the way, whenever and however," she said, a glint of desire in her eyes. Jessie played off this by responding to his question by lifting herself to her tiptoes, and pressing her lips against his. He was cautious with his request, and Jessie was anything but. She wanted him to know that her feelings had never really left, despite her stupid mistake. The brunette hoped that her boldness had succeeded in getting her message across, as she pulled back, grinning ear to ear. "Beat you to it," she said. simon sixten svendsen

Simon was naturally a guarded person, it took to break down his walls. Allowing himself to be vulnerable was a constant inner battle he was fighting because he was afraid of getting hurt or looking weak. For so long he was used to hiding and masking how he felt from Claudia in fear of looking too clingy, when all along he would have been happy to cling to the Slytherin girl if given the opportunity. It was nice feeling how genuine Jessie's intentions were, Simon wanted to break the walls down for Jessie because she was putting forth the effort for him. "Cool, it's a date then," he waggled his eyebrows playfully, trying to keep everything light and fun still.
His icy blue saucers widened when she said that she would have gone all the way 'whenever and however', bringing a comical smile upon his face, "I screwed up..." he said severely with a sigh, outwardly facepalming and chuckling at the thought. He was embarrassed about being so sloppy, around her. "I'm sure you would've rocked my world," he stated in jest, remembering how messed up he was that fateful night, all he could do was laugh about it now. Simon could take a joke.
The lioness kissed him and he smiled against her lips, hands raising to cup her face as she declared she beat him to it. "I could deal with that," he agreed happily, returning his lips to hers tenderly and thoroughly enjoying the butterflies and relief erupting inside of him. Their lips meshed and his hands dropped to pull her into him. After a couple of amazing prolonged moments, he pulled away from the kiss to look into her warm brown eyes, “ Thank you for taking care of me that night, Jessie." he told her with a gracious smile, unable to hide the warm and fuzzy feelings he was experiencing after the two weeks of turmoil.

Simon's current behavior was a stark contrast to the behavior she had observed two weeks before. Even when they were snogging occasionally, he had still been guarded about his feelings and intentions. It was nice to see him so open, and she was savoring every moment of it. She rolled her eyes playfully, as he stated it was a date. He was always one for theatrics. The lioness wondered what he could possible plan for the two of them. Knowing Simon, it was probably going to be something exciting and fun. Her heart jumped at the thought. Whatever it was, Jessie was looking forward to it. A small giggle slipped passed her lips, despite her cheeks warming, when Simon declared she would have 'rocked his world'. Despite knowing she was still fairly inexperienced, Simon still seemed sure that she was capable of something as provocative as that. It excited her, and made her ache to show him exactly what he had missed out on. But the logical part of her knew they needed to wait. The last thing she wanted to do was to move too fast and mess everything up when they had just remedied the disaster between them. His icey blue eyes always left her dazed when he gazed at her, just as they were now. "You don't have to thank me. I didn't think twice about it," she admitted, giving him a soft smile. In truth, she would have done it for anyone. Her feelings for him probably elicited a faster reaction time though. Despite the comfortable conversation they were having, the newness of their situation was starting to think. Several questions came to mind, like how to tell Sofia, or if there were going to be rules in the house for them now. But she started by asking, "So.. What are we going to tell your mom?". It was a bashful question on her part, but the people pleasing lioness deemed it a needed question. She desperately hoped that he didn't want to keep their dating a secret. simon sixten svendsen

A hopeful smile crept upon her lips, as Simon said that telling his mother about them would be a breeze. Her smile was blanched by the painfully awkward memory of Mrs. Svendsen floating into the theatre room while Jessie and the half-vampire were snuggled deeply against one another. "Ugh, that was mortifying," she said, giving him a bashful smile. Though his mother had reacted in what was possibly the best way any mom could have reacted, it didn't fix the amount of embarrassment the brunette felt. It wasn't... appropriate, the lioness thought, to be caught in such a position with the hostess's son. While his smile withered at the mention of his sister, Jessie's face scrunched up as she tried to hide the amusement she felt. "Would it be bad to say I'm kind of excited to see how she will react? I love having her defend my honor," she teased, nudging him lightly. "Though, I am sorry. I never meant for her to be angry with you, despite how upset I was," she added, giving him a sympathetic look. "I would hate to come between you guys. I know how hard it is to be at odds with your siblings. Especially sisters," she sighed, rolling her eyes. simon sixten svendsen

Simon enjoyed the warm feeling in his stomach he was experiencing with Jessie. The anxiety from the week alleviated and transformed into happiness. The fact that she was willing to kiss him made him feel like he was over the moon. Simon chuckled when Jessie said that she loved it when Sofia fought for her honor and his expression flickered with entertainment, "Oh, I'm sure you do..." he rolled his eyes playfully, pointing below his left eye. "She defended your honor alright." Simon told her as a matter of factly with a laugh, nodding in approval. He knew he deserved it and luckily it faded quickly due to his vampire side.
Simon shook his head when she started to apologize for coming between him and his sister, Jessie knew firsthand what it was like to have family strife, especially involving sisters in particular. Simon was confident the situation between he and Sofia wasn't severe; all they needed were a couple of smoke sessions, or some time on the pitch to hash things out. Simon grabbed her hands to squeeze them gently in his, seeking to touch her in the simplest way. "There's no need to apologize...honestly, I kind of deserved it..." he assured her with a soft smile, icy saucers carefully meeting hers. Simon didn't want to joke too much about the matter because he knew how screwed up it was but he was willing to admit being wrong.
