overall personality:
Family is important to Lotten. She has a special bond with her older brother, Bjorn. But she has good relationships with her siblings and younger sister as well. Keeping the family business alive is important to her. This is how she became the person that she is today, and she wouldn’t have it any way. While she is close with her brother, she’s not afraid to question or challenge her brother. She’s not one to blindly follow, even if she is close to him. Lotten can lead, and give instructions, she just prefers to remain where she is. She’s happy in her brother's shadow, and really doesn’t like the spotlite.
Lotten is not one to be openly nice to people. She doesn’t believe in excuses, a mistake is a mistake, but there is no reason putting the blame on anything. She believes in telling things how she sees them. While this is the case, she oftentimes can’t help but help those she sees who really need it. Sticking with preferring the shadows, she enjoys helping, while not getting any recognitions, usually giving what she took from someone who could be classified as “privileged”
Lotten loves to learn the hows, why’s, and inner workings of things. When she gets on a project, working on a painting or something magical, she has a habit of hyperfocusing on that project. When she gets like this, time disappears, and minutes turn into days if she’s allowed. When she really gets focusing, the best thing to stop her would be her finishing, or a substantial distraction to temporarily pull her away.
Lotten prefers to get everything out, even if it results in a fight. Once things are out in the open, you can find ways to adjust and move on. She’s not a person who wants to be friends with everyone.

history:
The Krok family hadn't always been known as "Krok". Their origins began with James Hook, who was the inspiration of the muggle story of Peter Pan. As a boy, James hook had a rough childhood. He excelled in his magical courses at Hogwarts and eventually got his own ship, the Jolly Roger. He enchanted the ship of legend to fly, and that ship still remains with his family.
James Hook eventually fathered a son, Olav, with a woman from Norway. At first, he didn't know about the boy, but returned and the boy learned the way of his father's trade. As the years passed, the man of legend passed his ship to Olav and settled with the mother of his son. At the age of 101, the man passed away peacefully in his sleep.
In control of his father's ship, Olav was the Captain, and he ran his ship as well as his father did. Many years after taking control of his father's ship, Olav met a much younger woman. The two of them married and they had three beautiful children. It was just before the birth of their oldest, and only son that the family changed their last name to "Krok" to avoid the publicity that the name "Hook" had generated.
While her brother was born during a major thunderstorm, Lotten was born on the coldest nights on record for the area. The rain that started earlier that day quickly turned into hail and snow as the second child was born, the child's cries matching those of her brothers. This was the start of living in her older brother's shadow.
Like her brother, Lotten was raised on land and the sky. Bjorn was being reared to take over for their father one day, and Lotten studied with him when she could. Her mother was insistent that the girl learn a finer art, so she began to paint. While she studied more feminen things from their mother, she still spent as much time on the ship as allowed. It was there that she learned the art of pick-pocketing. Living this way, she learned to bond closely with her brother, fantasizing about them running the ship. It was these thoughts and stories that her parents contributed her dreams of being on their grandfather's ship, with the man. While she was 10, her brother received a litter to go to Durmstrang. She heard her parents debiting it. The two kids were close, and she loved her brother, and she didn't want him to go. She had never really been separated from him, and she didn't like the idea of being the oldest sibling in the household. She was one to sneak around and practice her skills. She hated the idea of being in the spotlight, without a shadow to stand in, even at home with her parents.
The months that her brother was at school, Lotten learned more about blending into the background, without a shadow to stand in. But just like everything else, it was just a matter of time until she followed him. People compared her to her brother, and it didn’t help when she joined the same Quidditch team as her brother. Sitting comfortably in the Seeker position. She knew about forging from spending time on the ship, but school was the first time that she learned how lucrative it was. She started charging students for any type of forging that they needed. She thrived at school. It was fun spending time with different people, and making money by her business there, along with taking from students that she didn’t like.
A year after her brother, she graduated, with quite good marks. While her brother was playing professional Quidditch, she diverted from his path and went into art restoration, wanting to learn about the old masters and how they did their craft. She focused on paintings, but she also learned about precious gems and jewelry.
It was only a matter of time until Lotten would return to the shadow that she had grown up with. At age 23, she returned to the family ship, and their trade. She brought her expertise of these items into their work, and would paint on the side, especially when she needed to relax. She constantly showed her worth on the ship as she worked.
When her brother turned 29, their father gave the name of “Captain” over him. She was shortly appointed his first mate. And their father left their trade to live with their mother in happy retirement.
site events reaction:
Much like your brother, Lotten kept an eye on the news. Not much has upset her, and it all just seemed routine. Happy that they themselves hadn't ended up there. Other than noting prisoners escaping from Azkaban, knowing that a friend had been sent there, it was mostly in one year, and out the other.
Being a crew member on her brothers ship, she was in Russia when the quarantine started. The only concern that she had, was for her younger sister was in the Britisch Isles. As the quarantine eased, the crew obtained fake IDs so tha they were able to enter the Isles again.
