SURPRISING HER WITH HIS QUICK WITTED retort, Ana lifted her brows and tried to pretend like she wasn't shocked. As if he hadn't surprised her, but he had. There was a darker side to everybody, Ana knew that better than most, but she'd never considered Sav as an equal player until that very moment. "Maybe I already have," She replied, tongue running along her smiling upper teeth. He'd be a fun distraction, she thought.
"One of many, right?" She fished, grinning at him as their drinks arrived and she grabbed one. Firewhiskey wasn't her favourite, but it definitely did its job. She took enough of a mouthful that it puffed her cheeks, lowering the glass as she swallowed with a wrinkled nose. "God, this stuff really does burn," She said, shaking her head before she took another drink that finished the glass entirely. Ice clanking against the bottom. She took a piece to chew on.
"So!" She cleared, cheek bent around a clump of ice. "What've you been up to?" She asked without hesitation, poking in to his business in the same way she did everything. Without deliberation or consideration. "You're a big Quidditch star, blah blah, I already knew that." She teased him, lips wet from the whiskey and the ice. "Tell me something I don't know."

“Of course, one of many.” he smirked, taking his own shot and then licking the liquor off his lips. She commented that it really did burn and he nodded. “but that’s how you know it’s working.” he laughed. “When you can’t feel the burn anymore, you’ve had enough.” that’s what he and his friends always used to say. Though, he couldn’t remember a time that he actually stopped drinking once he had gotten numb to the taste of alcohol. If anything it would encourage him to keep going. He could barely imagine it now. It had only been months since he finished school, but it felt like a lifetime ago. He felt like an entirely different man.
She asked what he had been up to, then specified that she didn’t want to hear about work, she wanted to hear about something she didn’t know. He gave her a snicker in response while he thought about what to say. “Honestly, not much besides Quidditch. Kat moved in with me when the quarantine started, so everything’s been kind of calm for me, really.” he admitted with an easy shrug. He felt old. He was only 18. But he felt like he was some old family man just living for work and dinner at the end of the day. “What about you? You must be getting up to a lot more than me.” he leaned a little closer.

HE WAS FLIRTING WITH HER, ANA THOUGHT. SAV was definitely flirting with her. And she liked it, the distraction as welcome as it was surprising. He'd practically been wifed up at Hogwarts. Ana couldn't even fathom the idea of a long term boyfriend, not at Hogwarts and certainly not now. She didn't know how to not want... more. To not crave the excitement of it all. She'd just always assumed it wasn't for her, the love and the settling down. The restrictions of it all. No, Ana liked to feel single. It suited her.
Tongue and throat throbbing, Ana laughed openly. "I guess!" She exclaimed, already reaching for her next double shot. Ana wasn't looking to get drunk, but she was hoping to feel brave. Ever since the explosion she'd been... listless. Afraid of her own shadow. She'd needed this. The familiarity of it all. The booze and the flirting. The excitement o pursuit.
"Oh-" Ana paused, her glass hovering halfway to her mouth, where the liquid shook expectantly. She pulled it away with a slight frown, Sav's confession surprising her. "Like, Katherine, Kat?" She asked, trying to appear casual as she took a small sip to busy herself. "Your... girlfriend?" Disappointment was evident in her deflated shoulders. How she straightened up in her seat, stopping her steady gravitation in to Sav's personal space. "That's cute." She smiled, nodding her head to affirm this. "Very domestic of you both." She shrugged one shoulder cutely and threw her next shot back in one, welcoming the burn.
"You know me," Ana said as she set down her glass, blowing out a hot breath as she did, her eyes watering slightly at the heat of it. "Training." She lied. "Drinking." She toasted her empty glass. "Flirting with unavailable men." And then she laughed, because it beat the quiet embarrassment of silence. Ana was just confident enough to throw herself to the wolves. And plus, it was just Sav. Sav who had... definitely been flirting with her. Right...? She began to doubt herself.

Sav watched as Ana downed the double shot and couldn’t help but smirk at the way she looked doing it. He had always been attracted to Ana, for as long as he could remember. But they had always just been friends. Rivals. Besides some on and off flirting and their blind date that one time, there hadn’t been anything that happened between them. What a shame.
The look of her face when she realized that Sav and Kat were dating and that they were living together was one he was getting used to. Some surprise, some shock, some disappointment. He hadn’t ever thought he’d be in this position, yet here he was. Nearly settled down. “Yeah, Katherine.” He knew that she knew who Kat was, but he didn’t blame her for not knowing that they were dating. They barely were when the school year ended and it only picked up when the quarantine was put in place and she needed somewhere to live. Ana answered his question in a sarcastic way. And ended stating that she was flirting with unavailable men. Not only did it confirm that she was flirting with him, but it made him smirk nonetheless. “Who said i was unavailable?” he raised an eyebrow.

MAYBE ANA WAS JUST LONELY ENOUGH TO LET herself shoot her shot. She hadn't remembered how he'd left Hogwarts, with a girlfriend and the business to settle down. She hadn't thought him the type. Because Sav had a girlfriend and she was noticeably disappointed. But, she felt there was no point denying her initial intention. Making a blatant joke of it, her pride bruised only slightly. Ana had an impressive rebound rate.
Though, as her glass was placed back down on the table, Sav's whip fast reply stopped her short. Her brows pulling together as she sat back in her chair carefully. His expression was teasing, his smirk as flirtatious as before. "What do you mean?" She asked in confusion. Of course, she knew what he meant. Playing dumb to avoid further embarrassment, or a cheating scandal. "Does Katherine know you're available?" She asked innocently, twirling the glass between her fingers. Her eyes roving over Sav's face for any sign of deceit. She found none. It was a dangerous bet, but Ana was just lonely enough to risk asking.
