Jacob didn’t really know why he kept signing up for Mr.Blishwicks blind dating service. The past two attempted had just been an exercise in how nervous he could get about something. They weren’t bad but both attempts just reminded him about how he wasn’t good at talking to strangers or for that matter people in general. Yet, once again he found himself signing up for it. It was all in an attempt to be better at dealing with his anxiety. He felt the only way he was going to get better with people was just to start getting out there more. He would never be able to run his own bakery one day by hiding from customers or new faces. He needed to be more like everyone else, all the normal people who could hold an actually conversation without getting nervous. Those who could have a small misstep and not feel like everyone was ready to laugh at them.
He heard back from The Blishwick matchmaking company faster than he would have liked. As he read the letter his second guessing himself already kicked in. His date and him would be having a picnic. Yet, it didn’t say if he was suppose to bring the food or if there was food that was going to be provided. What if he brought food and there was already food there. He would look like a fool but what if no one brought food and it was an awful picnic. These were the second guessing thoughts that always went through Jacob's head on just about any subject. There was no winning when it came to his brain. Everything had some way of making him look like a fool. Down to what if he brought food his date would hate.
It was an odd couple of days till the blind date but finally Jacob just decided it was better to be prepared. If he had more food than they needed, so be it. It was better than having no food at all. Finding an almost identical picnic basket one might find in some cartoon Jacob packed up the various sandwiches, snacks and other baked goods and made his way to Dublin. It was a bit of distance so he apperated part of the way and then walked toward the park. Once there the second or third round of second guessing began. Who exactly was he looking for, were they even here yet, would they even show? The constant questions in his head got annoying some days as he just decided it was best to find a place in the part to sit down and wait. Worse case he would just be eating alone in a park.

July 2025 @jacob
Vasilia was quite excited for this blind date! Her schedule had been rather insane lately. Since deciding to take the offer at the Violet Hound Pub, to still helping as much as she could at the parlour, and then her culinary school... Let's just say time was not a friend and she was usually running on very few hours of sleep and very little free time. But, she'd made the time for the blind date, making sure to schedule a whole day free as she wasn't exactly sure what the plan would be. Vas had, thankfully lucked out with that decision. Because she got word the blind date would be a picnic in a not so easily reach place for a squib like herself. But, thankfully getting a portkey was pretty easy to procure in Diagon alley. Though.. her letter from Blishwick failed to mention who was supposed to bring the picnic food.... Well, better safe then sorry! So, without any hesitation, she fixed a basket of a few treats to bring along.
The portkey got her most of the way there, and she only had to walk a few blocks to reach the designated location. She swung the basket in her hand lightly, humming as she walked. When she reached the park she took the park in first. Inhaling deeply to enjoy the fresh air, and grinning brightly at the sunny day and rolling fields of grass. It was a nice day, perfect for a picnic. Only then did she turn to see if her "date" was around. She didn't know who it was, but she was sure she could figure out. Either he'd have a basket too, or he'd see her with a basket and know he was looking for her.
That's when she spotted a young man with a similar basket. That had to be him! She approached him with a bright smile. "Either we both have the same idea, or you're my blind date. I'm Vasilisia, but call me Vas."

Jacob didn’t like waiting, not that he was an impatient person. It wasn’t the waiting it’s self that got to him. It was the waiting on something that already made him nervous. It gave Jacob time to think idly, to second guess. His mind liked to come up with the worse case scenario and play that back over and over. The worse case being that he got stood up which wasn’t really that bad. He had food and it was a nice day to eat outside. Compared to other situations the worst wasn’t so bad here. His waiting didn’t take too long as a woman came up with a similar basket to his and started talking. Saying they had the same idea or that he was here for the blind date too, before introducing herself.
“Y-yeah, both I suppose on the same idea and being here for the blind date. I wasn’t sure if we were supposed to bring food or if there would be a picnic already.” Jacob explained as he really had wished the letter from Blishwick had been more clear. “I’m Jacob, I wasn’t sure what sandwiches and stuff you might like. So I may have went overboard and just made too much.” He added with a laugh as he knew he had made far to much for sure but it was better to have choices."Bright side, we won't run out of food.. I guess."
