Simon wasn't one to overthink situations. Going with the flow was his style, thriving the most under pressure, and enjoying the thrill when things worked out. Simon never thought that he would get nervous before going out with a girl, but he found himself met face-to-face with a stomach full of butterflies in anticipation of seeing Jessie before their night out. Simon didn't want to make a huge deal out of it in fear of seeming lame or too into her, a habit he likely formed from Claudia. The half-vampire learned to tame his emotions since they were so secretive. There was something about Jessie that gave him the impression she wouldn't be the kind of girl to allow him to hide his emotions, which usually freaked him out, but with Jessie, he found the idea equally intriguing. Simon never went on a 'real' date before so he was more nervous about messing things up.
Their date was off to a great start. The butterflies were still overflowing in his stomach, though they were more welcome now. Simon and Jessie enjoyed a dinner at a fine dining restaurant in London with a view of the London Bridge and the surrounding city. The conversation easily flowed and he found himself infatuated with the lion. As they stepped out of the restaurant they were greeted with cool fresh night air. There was a slight breeze in the air that gave his skin a chill, but it was the perfect summer night for a walk in the city. Simon shrugged off his coat like a gentleman, offering to drape it over her shoulders with a soft smile, "Okay, are you ready for our second part of the date?" he asked her as his hand confidently reached for hers and intertwined fingers.
Simon hadn't told her where they were going yet because keeping the element of mystery kept things exciting. They made their way toward one of Muggle London's most famous museums. This place didn't house typical blasé art seen in museums. These were huge exhibits meant for gawking and oversharing on social media. And "Free" Alcohol. Simon had a feeling like a date of this nature would be more for him, but he knew that Jessie enjoyed shiny things and was the biggest nerd he knew. Nerds were into art, right? She would surely enjoy this!

Jessie's emotions tended to operate in extremes. The days leading up to their date were some of the most anxious moments in the young girl's life. She couldn't even count how many times she had practiced her makeup in the mirror, or how many times she had chosen an outfit, only for it to end up in a pile on the floor. You could imagine her surprise when the day of their date had arrived, and the lioness felt an overwhelming sense of calm. It was odd, to say the least, but she found it rather helpful as she donned her outfit and makeup, a renewed clarity guiding her. The Gryffindor choked it up to the fact that she and Simon were now on an even playing field. The half-vampire had always had the upper-hand, for lack of a better word. His experience often set Jessie at the edge of her seat. But tonight, they were both doing something for the first time. Her calm demeanor remained over her, only faltering once she caught sight of the dashing half-vampire before they set off for their night out. He was breath-taking. As he always was. Their date started off with dinner in London. Coming from a small-town in the southern United States, Jessie had never quite experienced anything such as this. She worried frequently whether or not she appeared to fit in such an environment. Despite being out of her element, she found the food delicious, and Simon's conversation thrilling. By the end of dinner, her cheeks were aching from smiling so much. A breeze greeted them as they exited the restaurant, breaking her skin out in goosebumps. Jessie whispered a small thank you, as Simon draped his coat around her. The last coat of his that she had worn was doused in cigarette smoke. This one lacked such a scent, and she found herself missing it slightly. Butterflies performed somersaults in her stomach, as he reached for her hand. "Of course, I'm dying to know what it is! Thank you for such an amazing dinner by the way. I've never had anything quite like that," she bumbled, squeezing his hand lightly. Truth be told, the Lioness was just happy to be in his company. Their date so far had been exceptional, but her nerves were quickly rising once again. "I must be the luckiest girl in the world," she mused, giving him a bashful smile. simon sixten svendsen

The night was going smoothly, it made the undying pessimist in Simon prepare for something to go wrong. Then again, with Jessie, he was sure they'd be able to make most mistakes fun. She wasn't uptight like most girls, well, unless if it involved studying or school. Admittedly, those times she was a bit intense. As they held hands, they walked closely side by side. Jessie expressed gratitude for their dinner, following by saying she was the luckiest girl in the world. Simon wasn't typically a sentimental person, but her words rang in his ears, causing a small smile to spread across his face. "Thanks for agreeing to go on a date with me." he responded, his smile transforming into a slightly bashful one. "You've got that backwards though because I'm actually the lucky one." he declared, inwardly promising her that he was going to do everything in his power so that her opinion of him would remain the same. He wasn't going to mess it up.
They prepared to cross the street with a group of Muggles, heading straight toward the dome-shaped building that had a light projected on it hailing 'London Museum of Art' with an array of multi-colored LED lights strobing in the darkness. "This isn't some boring museum," he promised her before earnestly adding, "They have an exhibit that is strictly ice cream."

Seeing Simon warm and gushy was still a profoundly new sight to the lioness. But she basked in it nonetheless. As he expressed his gratitude, Jessie rolled her eyes playfully at him. Truthfully, it wouldn't have taken much convincing on his part. As soon as she had laid eyes on the flowers outside her door, her heart was captured by the quidditch player. She was prepared to dive headfirst into their newfound relationship, whether it was wise or not. She hadn't imagined something feeling so safe and exhilarating at the same time. It was addicting, and entirely enthralling. Needless to say, she was excited to see how things would play out between them. Her heart thumped wildly as he declared himself the lucky one, and she gave his hand a soft squeeze. "Well, I imagine we could argue over that all night," she teased, a playful glint in her eyes. Bickering came easy to the pair, it seemed. Both lighthearted, and intense. Jessie followed along as he tugged her across the street, eyes instantly drawn to the flashing lights up ahead. A small grin split her lips as she realized what building they were heading into. She wasn't artistic by any means, but she held an immense appreciation for art. Besides, Simon was very much an artist. That alone was enough to make her more than excited for their next adventure. She scoffed as he spoke, "Like I would find any museum boring," she relayed, eyes gazing up at the building in wonder. Despite already having her interest piqued, the mention of ice cream fueled her desire to step into the building. "Oh? Do we get to sample some? I think I have room for dessert."

The half-vampires expression perked up when she said that they could argue all night over who was luckier. Her expression was too cute not to push it, this time in a much more flirtatious nature. His blue eyes found hers, "Wellll, if you really want to, we can bicker here for a little while." he agreed with a smile and a wink, already pulling her in the direction of the museum with a pep in his step. They were obviously both joking now, but the bickering was how their relationship originally started.
With the tickets at hand, Simon thought ahead for the date, not wanting her to have Jessie wait in any stupid lines. When she asked if they would be able to sample the ice cream, he scoffed playfully, "I wouldn't tease you with ice cream. I'm not a monster." he joked, fully aware of her love affair with munchies. He shared the same interest, only he wouldn't curse someone out for spilling a bowl of popcorn like Jessie had - before they snogged face all night. As they started up the steps, "You'll probably be tired of ice cream once we leave this place." he promised with a chuckle, handing over their tickets to the Muggle guarding the door of the museum.
They stepped inside and were instantly met with tall, bright ceilings and doors. There were doors to exhibits everywhere, he wasn't really sure where to start, so he turned to Jessie still holding her hand. Simon had never held a girl's hand in public. He found holding Jessie's hand exhilarating, which was funny considering he'd usually think that was such an innocent act. "How about this one?" he asked in an easy going tone, gesturing to a closed door with a bunch of sheets of colored polka dot stickers on it with a 'TAKE ME' sign written above them. "You must obey the door though..." he reached for a couple of red and yellow polka dots, since they were the closet colors to Gryffindor, and nonchalantly stuck a red one on Jessie's nose. "That's a good look on you." he advised with an innocent small smile.
we can say they were walking into this one

Jessie's nose crinkled up as she smiled at his joke. "Right, I'm sure all of these pedestrians would love to see that. Someone would probably film it," she said, playfully as he continued to pull her towards the enormous building. Despite how short her legs were, she found it easy to follow in his steps as he lead the way. Her excitement and butterflies spurred her on, keeping her pace comfortable and complementary to his. The brunette practically hummed in delight when he confirmed that they would indeed be able to eat the ice cream. "I wouldn't put it past you to tease me like that," she joked, her thoughts still entirely preoccupied with the ice cream. Whatever fullness she felt had completely vanished-- making more than enough room for some sugary tastings. "Ah, I'd be willing to place a bet on that. You severely underestimate my love for sugar." A warmth spread through her as she watched Simon turn in their tickets, which she hadn't noticed yet. It seemed as though she had underestimated him as well. Jessie had been prepared to wait in the massive line forming at the door, and yet the half-vampire had come prepared, taking her by surprise yet again this evening. Merlin, she couldn't wait to snog him back at home. He was practically irresistible at the moment. Jessie was busy staring around at the entrance area when Simon turned and pointed to an exhibit near them. "Lead the way," she said, grinning at him. She barely had time to register what exactly the exhibit entailed before Simon stuck a polka dot on her nose. The lioness stuck her tongue out at the boy, before grabbing the dot and placing it on her arm. "You know, you say you find me attractive occasionally, and yet you are always trying to cover my face in stuff," she teased, placing a yellow dot on his neck. "There, I marked a spot for later."simon sixten svendsen

Simon smiled when she joked about him teasing her about the ice cream exhibit. His eyebrows danced at the center of his forehead happily, "Not this time." he promised her, knowing he didn't have the cleanest track record with her, especially when it came to their studies. Honestly, he knew he couldn't tease her like that on their first date together. That would be cruel. At the end of the last school year, he wouldn't have ever pictured himself on a date with Jessie...but today it felt right. As nervous as he was before, it had long faded and he was having a lot of fun with the lioness.
The couple made their way through the breathtaking exhibits at a decent pace. Simon was always amazed by how time flew when he was with Jessie. These days he found himself happily consumed by the thought of Jessie, overjoyed by the fact that he had a second chance.
Simon was holding her hand again as they made their way through the final exhibit. The World of Ice Cream. Everything was themed by, well, you guessed it - ice cream. Simon and Jessie made their way through the colorful room, gawking and poking about. Everything was fun with Jessie. He was still wearing the polka dot she'd strategically placed on his neck.
Simon's eyes caught the final exit door, which was a sign the end was quickly approaching. Simon pulled Jessie along with a pep in his step as the ice cream push cart came into view, "Oh, shit! The moment is finally here!" he exclaimed, more excited for her because she was cute when she was excited. The worker dug through the icebox and handed them each a mystery flavor and a small spoon. Simon thanked them and headed for the door, "Hurry up and eat it before I smash it in your face," he joked playfully, more to flashback with his disrespect for her snacks as they started for the door, snacks at hand.

Their time at the museum was flying by, and yet Jessie was soaking up every moment of it. While she loved spending time with Simon whenever and wherever, it was an entirely new sensation to be on a date with the half-vampire. The lioness had been wondering how going back to Hogwarts would affect their newfound relationship, and going on a date in public did a lot to soothe her nerves. Despite all of the fancy exhibits practically begging for attention, most of her focus remained on Simon. Her eyes saught his out frequently, shuffling the butterflies in her stomach around. The cold of his hand clashed with the warmth of her own in an oddly comforting way. Was this what they had been missing out on the past few months? If only they had come to their senses sooner. Although the beautiful boy beside her was more than addicting to gaze at, her attention was torn away from him as they finally shuffled into the ice cream exhibit. Even though it was just an exhibit, all of the art was beautifully made. Realistic to the point where Jessie could have sworn that she saw actual ice cream dripping off of a cone, and onto the floor. She decided that without a doubt, she definitely had room for ice cream. She wasn't ready for their date to be over, but the thought of finishing the night off with some ice cream was too exciting for the diminutive brunette. Her prayers were shortly answered as Simon exclaimed that the moment had finally arrived. The pair giddly waited to be handed their ice cream, practically foaming at the mouth. Jessie gazed at their desert hungrily, before mumbling a response, "Simon Svendsen, if you ruin this ice cream for me, you'll never get into my pants." It was a sound promise, and hopefully he took it seriously. simon sixten svendsen

Simon shook his head with utmost displeasure when she mentioned never having access to her knickers if he tampered with her ice cream experience. They descended the steps that exited the museum with ice cream at hand, now standing on the busy sidewalk outside the museum. "Okay, I'll take that as a promise, not a threat..." he agreed without a second thought of tinkering with her beloved treat. As he enjoyed his own, he sighed, "I can't believe that knobhead Nate made it there before I did." he lamented, licking his ice cream jealously. Simon wouldn't dare make a joke like that a week ago, but they were getting over their speedbumps. Sometimes it was easier for him to joke about these things to cope with them.
