and
a Celtic harp that serves as an additional magical conduit (though it's pretty more than it is functional as anything but an instrument); it was made from alder wood and brass strings, with a unicorn tail hair in its pillar as its core.
playby:
Florence Welch
appearance:
Sadhbh stands at 5'9" tall, with a relatively thin build. She has fair skin—though her skin isn't very freckled—and red hair, which she wears long, down, and with a blunt fringe over her forehead. She has large, hooded green eyes and a square jaw, and her nose is slightly crooked.
While Sadhbh isn't pierced, she does have two tattoos. One is of the "three hares" symbol, which is located on her back, just below her neck. She also has a tattoo of a set of antlers on her forearm, just below her left elbow.
As far as fashion and things like that go, Sadhbh prefers to wear wizarding robes—especially those in the Druid style—rather than clothing that has been borrowed from non-magical peoples. When she travels outside of Hy-Brasil, she will wear other clothing to "fit in" better, though she's really not a fan of it. Overall, she prefers jewel tones and fabrics such as velvet, and she does like to wear quite a bit of jewelry.
In her Animagus form as a hare, Sadhbh is a light brown to almost reddish color, and her Animagus form has since retained an antler-like patch of white fur on its left side.

Winemaker
personality

Alcoholic beverages, but mostly wine; magic mushrooms; vineyards themselves; the color purple; Hy-Brasil; playing the harp; rabbits and hares; sunsets; children; her ceremonial dress as a Druid
dislikes:
Muggles, though she would never harm one; the Dark Arts; magical integration with the non-magical world; poor harvests; early frosts; being too cold; speaking English (though she does speak it); making trips away from Hy-Brasil; when people confuse Hy-Brasil for Brazil; the Ministry of Magic
erised:
Sadhbh desires to one day reach the Otherworld upon her passing. In the meantime, though, she's content to make the world's best wines and enjoy life.
amortentia:
Wine, wheat, and blackberries
boggart:
Sadhbh most fears being converted to the Dark Arts; second, she fears that Hy-Brasil will end up taken over and developed like the magical world outside of it.
overall personality:
cautious
Sadhbh is very cautious, particularly when it comes to the world outside of Hy-Brasil. On Hy-Brasil, she knows that most people and creatures can be trusted. Beyond the island is a different story, and she's always hesitant to interact with non-Druids who haven't earned her or her community's trust.
pleasure-seeking
While some non-Druids might view her love of wine and magic mushrooms as being little more than debauchery, Sadhbh simply seeks out what she feels are the pleasures in life. Good wine, good food, and a few magic mushrooms are some of the gods' greatest gifts to the Druids, and of course she's going to honor them for their generosity.
responsible
Again, contrary to what one might believe about Sadhbh at a glance, she is also very responsible and doesn't take her duties lightly. While she might not be in a high-ranking position on Hy-Brasil, she knows that everyone on the island has to do their part to ensure that everything runs smoothly—and that the gods are pleased. (If everyone were running around on mushrooms all the time, nothing would get done, you know!)
empathetic
Sadhbh is a very empathetic person, both with other people on Hy-Brasil and with the flora and fauna around the island. She lives by the idea of doing no harm, and she hopes that she can be a help to anyone who might need her assistance.
humble
Sadhbh is humble; she knows that what she has been given in life was because of the gods, and she doesn't think too highly of herself.
superstitious
Sadhbh follows the Druids' cultural and religious beliefs closely. While others (and especially non-Druids) might hold the view that much in life is down to chance or individual action rather than the interference of a higher power, Sadhbh doesn't think so. Maybe this makes her seem a little bit parochial or naïve to some people, but she knows that her belief in the gods has gotten her this far in life.
ritualistic
Also rooted in her strong beliefs is how ritualistic Sadhbh is. She doesn't like to do things against the grain—well, "against the grain" for Druid life; non-Druids would probably have a different idea—for fear of angering the gods. No, Sadhbh prefers to do things in the way they've always been done, from the way that her family makes their wines to the ceremonies in which she partakes.

history:
Born late, Sadhbh's birth on the second day of February (the start of Imbolc) was welcomed with great joy by her family and community on the island of Hy-Brasil. As a Druid child, it would have been very unlucky if she had been born in January, so Sadhbh has always considered her late arrival into the world as a blessing. Because she was welcomed into the world with a party, she's always appreciated a celebration, and she had plenty growing up. (Having been born into a family of winemakers, it was a no-brainer.)
Two years later, a sister, Medb, was born, and the two children became very close. Sadhbh took her responsibilities as an older sister very seriously, though never at the expense of enjoying herself. As a young child, Sadhbh loved to explore the world around her and was never prohibited from doing so. Even as she began her "education" at the age of five, it never felt like work. And how could it? Her teachers were eager to foster her and her classmates' love of learning about the natural world, which they knew would serve them well as they grew.
In time, Sadhbh grew older, and it was at the age of fourteen that she decided that she was going to become an Animagus. While the process was difficult and even discouraging at times, Sadhbh saw it through and was relieved to discover that her Animagus form was a hare. Although it was not a large animal, she gained an appreciation for a different perspective. Plus, being much smaller than she would have been as a human allowed her to explore areas of Hy-Brasil that she wouldn't have been able to see otherwise.
Sadhbh's first trip away from Hy-Brasil didn't come until she was sixteen, at the end of her OWL year. She cried at the realization that she actually had to leave her beloved home just to take her exams, though she was comforted by the fact that she would have her Druid peers with her the whole time. She passed the first set of exams with flying colors, then she returned back to Hy-Brasil with plenty of stories about how strangely people really did things off the island.
At seventeen, Sadhbh celebrated her coming-of-age in true Druid fashion, and she began to aid her family in their winemaking more seriously. She also got the first of her tattoos, the small set of antlers on her arm, to commemorate the special occasion. She was also gifted her harp and staff by her parents then.
Returning to Hogwarts for her NEWTs a few months after turning eighteen, Sadhbh was more prepared for what to expect the second time, and she did her best to support the younger students and keep them from having the same concerns that she had. Of course, those people lived very differently than on Hy-Brasil, and it was during that second trip that Sadhbh tried to interact a little bit more with some of the Hogwarts students. They were nice enough, and she of course invited them to visit Hy-Brasil.
Firmly into adulthood once she had completed her NEWTs, Sadhbh continued to make wine alongside her paternal grandparents, parents, and younger sister. To an outsider, that might not have seemed like much of a life, but it was the most wonderful existence Sadhbh could imagine. Festivals were great; wine and magic mushrooms were even better, and she couldn't have asked for anything more than the life she led.
In more recent years, more and more reports from outside of Hy-Brasil were that there were issues with the Dark Arts. Too young to remember the Second Wizarding War (aside from Kingsley Shacklebolt's time as Minister following it), Sadhbh was concerned. When Kingsley Shacklebolt himself died, she wasn't sure how to feel. He had been a terrible minister, in her opinion, and she wondered if perhaps the gods had recognized his wrongdoings. She was careful to avoid anything away from Hy-Brasil, including making trips for the sake of selling wine. It felt too dangerous, and there was too much that had the potential to go wrong.
As a renewed wave of Dark activity and other assorted chaos has affected Wizarding Britain, Sadhbh hopes to remain on Hy-Brasil, where she knows that she's safe.
site events reaction:
While she is aware of the events that have been happening outside of Hy-Brasil, Sadhbh's primary concern is for her community and how they might be affected by everything that the Ministry of Magic has done (or, more frequently in her view, failed to control). As is the case with many Druids, Sadhbh has never had a particularly favorable view of the Ministry. The first Minister for Magic that she can remember in her lifetime was none other than Kingsley Shacklebolt (and all of the reforms that came under his leadership), so her mistrust of their governance runs pretty deep. Especially with the latest death of a Minister, she's really beginning to question how anyone—inside or outside of Hy-Brasil—can stand the complete incompetence.
Besides that, Sadhbh stays glued to the Daily Prophet whenever it's time for the older students of Hy-Brasil to travel to Hogwarts to sit their examinations. She knows that they're much safer on their own island, so she's always grateful to receive word that they've made it back home to Hy-Brasil safely.
