His fault? Bjorn looked at her, smirking. He wouldn't deny that he hadn't said a few things to 'seduce her', but could you blame him? It wasn't every day you met a beautiful woman who not only knew ships, but loved them. "Who said I wasn't planning on 'hooking' you? I'm just biding my time." Her pun, though unintentional, had made him smirk just a little wider. If only she knew. He even had a hook tattoo, to immortalize the Krok family history, though it was hidden under his shirt. She wouldn't see that one. Yet.
Bjorn liked her being so close. It was exhilarating but also natural. As if her being by his side was exactly where she belonged. Though, her incessant teasing on his leg was going to be quite the problem. As was that look she was giving him. She knew exactly what she was doing. "I don't need wine to get drunk." Especially with what she was doing. He'd get drunk off her if she kept it up. He reached under the table with his spare hand, laying his hand on top of her own. One, because he wanted to hold her hand. But two, to stop the teasing. "Red sounds great."

So he was trying to hook her after all. It was enough for her. She didn't really need all that much more. She didn't know why she was so taken with him but that barely mattered. All she needed was to make sure he kept his interest in her. She smiled as he said he was just biding his time. "You don't have to. While being patient is very honorable you're making me far too curious about what you could do given time and opportunity." She said cheerfully and playfully. She just wanted to get to know him better. She was interested to know everything about him, but he was making it difficult for her. She liked a puzzle and she fully intended to figure him out at some point. She didn't care how much time that'd take.
He was blocking her! Now that was... inconvenient. How on earth was she supposed to be seducing him when he was holding her hand hostage? She needed that to seduce him! She wriggled her nose slightly, both in delight that he was being intimate and in annoyance that he was blocking her more subtle attempts to drive him up the wall. It had to mean it had been working or he wouldn't have seen a reason to stop it. He said he didn't need wine to get drunk. She raised a brow as she smiled at him. Then she leaned in so she could whisper in his ear. "Well how do you suggest I help you get into a party mood?" It didn't stop her from intertwining their fingers now that he'd taken her hand. It was something that happened almost automatically. She'd been quite calm before, yet that faded as she grinned wickedly and then continued the games as she shifted her weight to be able to softly slide her foot over his leg, as if to entangle them for certain activities. If that kept him.... warmed up... well she was doing what she intended to do.

Dammit, why was he trying to exercise self control here? When was he ever this patient, or chivalrous? No, he was a pirate. He broke rules, laws, sometimes people when it was called for. His crew would be very confused and concerned if they saw the way Bjorn was acting. He commanded respect and took what he want, when he wanted it. Hell, this woman was practically begging him to just take her. No questions asked. And yet, here he was. Perfectly content (well... mostly content) in just... waiting. Biding his time. "Perhaps that's my whole ploy. The more curious you are, the longer you'll stay." He leaned in a little closer, his lips near her ear as he whispered. "And I like seeing how hard you're trying to seduce me."
The way she reacted to his catching her hand, the way her nose scrunched and wiggled. It was absolutely adorable. Bjorn smirked, enjoying her annoyance. Though, then he was focused on the way her hand fit in his. Smaller then his own hand, but it was comfortable. Their fingers laced, as if it were the most natural thing in the world. "You're doing plenty to get me in a party mood." He was going to be very, very frustrated tonight if this kept up. Though, as if able to read his thoughts and deciding that her new favorite pastime was torturing him, she shifted, and he felt her foot on his leg. Bjorn narrowed his eyes just a touch. Not in anger but quiet contemplation of if this really was worth waiting for. But no, it was. Because why she was frustrating him to absolutely oblivion, his refusals had to be having a similar affect. Why else would she be trying so desperately? Well, aside from general attracting, which was definitely a factor tonight. He tightened his hold on her waist. "You're lucky we're in a restaurant and I'm a patient man. Otherwise I'd have to show you what happens to people that tease me." He would show her. Not tonight, but soon.
Though Bjorn wasn't sure if it was a good thing or bad, the waiter returned with water for them, and asked if they were ready to order. "Shrimp scampi, and whatever the lady would like." He traced light circles against her hip. He almost wished her could take her to Italy right now, for some authentic italian food. Now that was an adventure he'd have to remember for later, depending on how this all went...

Deva knew her father would be having a fit if he saw the way she was acting in the moment. Not that it would ever stop her, it wasn't like he had a habit of liking anybody she dated either way. Still, even for her this was stronger than normal but he was also far more interesting than anybody she'd ever met. For the kind that were not often associated with chivalry or patience, he showed a remarkable amount of both those trademarks. She loved the challenge of trying to see if he'd break, although it was ever so clear he had far more restraint that she'd expected. She'd give him credit for that, although it wouldn't stop her from teasing him more. If anything, she wanted him to remember this evening and remember her. If she left him wanting more, well that definitively ought to help a little in being memorable. "Maybe it's something other than curiosity that is driving me to stay, although I do admit the curiosity helps quite a bit." She said with a smile on her face. She was enjoying his company, more than she'd expected to. The smile grew wider as he noted that he saw she was trying hard to seduce him. "Don't worry, by now I admire your ability to reject me countless times. If you give in now I'm not even sure if I'd be disappointed or relieved." She said with a chuckle. There was something about that restraint that made her feel butterflies. She wasn't going to be just anybody for him, or at least, it seemed to be that way right now. Who was she to question that?
While his constant interceptions of her actions helped a lot to keep her searching for new ways to seduce him she was more than happy to hear that she was getting him in a party mood. Now she kept the curiosity to see if he had as strong of a restraint as he seemed to have her believe. If he did she had no intentions of ever letting him go, provided he lived up to his word to show her a good time later on. After he was done toying with his food. The slight narrowing of his eyes brought a twinkle of delight to her own, as she continued her tiny teases that were designed to keep him interested in her long after the night was through. That was what she wanted and hoped for of course, it was a matter of waiting to see if she'd get it. She couldn't help but chuckle at what he said though, his little threat. "Oh, don't threaten me with a good time." She said innocently. "It only makes me want to misbehave more." She teased back, delighted how wonderful the night was going. This was better than anything she could have dreamt up after all.
The waiter brought them water and Bjorn ordered himself food before offering the opening to her. She smiled politely at the waiter. "I'll take some pasta carbonara please?" She asked politely. "Oh, and add a bottle of your best red to it please. We have something to celebrate." It was always her go-to dish in any Italian place since it told her everything she needed to know about the food they served there. If it wasn't true carbonara they were not a true Italian restaurant, simple as that. Her family (as her name suggested) was of Italian descent and her grandmother from her dad's side still cooked up some pretty nice dishes when they were in the country. Usually in summer during their sailing vacations. As the waiter left she poured herself a glass of water, taking a small sip as she looked at Bjorn, relishing in his small touches that kept him ever so close to her. "Have you ever been to Italy?" She asked curiously. She wondered if he was familiar with the country, although it had more to do with the place they'd ended up at than anything else. It seemed like a good enough excuse to get him to tell her something about himself. Anything at all pretty much.

Deva really was a fascinating creature. He found himself no where near bored, and he hadn't even demanded anything of her. All they'd done is... talk. As much as he found her physically attractive (very much so in fact), that wasn't what drove him today. What held him off from just taking her back to the ship, or a hotel, for a wild night. No, he wanted to know her. In a deeper way. He reached over with his free hand, brushing a lock of her hand from her face and tucking it behind her ear. "I'm not rejecting you. Just telling you to wait. Think of it like aged wine. The longer you wait, the better it is." No, he was too interested in her to just rush forward. He wanted to take his time. To get to know this beauty before the next stage.
God, this was definitely infuriating, holding off her advances. They should have picked a busier restaurant, so she couldn't tease him so mercilessly. At least there she would have had to be a touch more reserved... He brought their entangled hands out from under the table, gazing down at how well her smaller, more delicate hand fit into his calloused hand. He gently stroke her hand with his thumb, trying to focus on something other then that teasing. "It's not a threat, it's a promise."
He smirked as she ordered, asking for their finest red. She was lucky he had money to spare. That request might have made another made worry, without knowing the price. But know, his business paid quite well, depending on the season. And he didn't spend his money frivolously, so he had quite a bit to spare. Not that she needed to know that. After all, she thought he was on a sailor's income, not a captain's. He absentmindly continued stroking her hand and waist as the waiter left and she poured herself a glass of water with her free wand. It was nice.. comfortable. To be here with someone that didn't know who he was, what he did. No expectations, past a good time that was. "A few times," he answered casually. His crew didn't do much work down there. While some would consider the high tourist location a great place for his line of work, he thought otherwise. Because it meant the country was the most willing to work with others if he did stir up trouble. So, his trips there had always been more leisure then work. "Quite the relaxing county, with a variety of things to do. You're never bored. Have you been there?"

It were the little things that had her absolutely enchanted by him. The way he held her hand and brushed the hair from her face. They were motions that she was somewhat used to from both Rhys and previous relationships but this was different. The feelings it stirred inside her were completely knew. He wasn't comfortable in a familiar way or exciting just because he was somebody new and interested in her. He was different, for he showed her patience and respect while making it abundantly clear the problem wasn't in her being attractive and she hadn't even dressed to impress anybody that morning. She looked like her normal old self but he looked at her and treated her like royalty of supernatural beauty. He made it clear that he wanted her, but he wanted her to stay it seemed. Not a hurried night, a frantic tumble then a shy goodbye. No creeping home before the day started. She smiled as he mentioned wine. "Well I do appreciate a good glass." She said in honesty. Though only he would manage to make waiting seem far more appealing than instant gratification. She appreciated that.
The way his words sounded, the intensity and promises behind them... She was longing for him. For the sweet promises he made. Her heart fluttered and she was amazed that he somehow managed to keep his composure and not be quite as distracted by her advances as one might have expected. It didn't matter much though, mostly since she knew she enjoyed every aspect of him, even the slightly frustrating ones. She smiled slightly, completely at ease and happy. "And what other promises might I tempt you into?" She asked innocently, batting her eyelashes at him. "Perhaps I can persuade you to escort me home to keep criminals from bothering me? It would make me feel much safer to be in your company." She could apparate home of course, but where was the fun in that? A kiss goodbye on her doorstep seemed like a really good idea, even if it was the best she could get from him this first meeting. She wasn't going to ask for that part, not if she could convince him to walk her home.
Deva had no plans of letting him pay the bill on his own, not after she'd ordered what was likely to be expensive wine. The ministry paid her well enough and since she didn't often spend money she had a more than decent reserve. She knew he'd asked her out and everything but she also thought she'd made it abundantly clear she wasn't here to take advantage of him. It was why she'd rejected the prospect of a fancy restaurant in favour of a more casual place to eat. A pub would have been fine with her, since her wish was to get to know him better. Naturally this was far better than a pub but it didn't change her intentions. He was a regular sailor and she didn't want to bankrupt him on the first date. Yet his touches were sending shivers of delight over her entire body. It was a high to be so close to him and it felt amazing. Naturally she kept up her teasing, a far less innocent way to pass the time but since it had brought them closer she wasn't complaining. He didn't compromise his statement since he was clearly still on his best behaviour but he did bring on the intimacy in a different way. Whenever she teasingly pushed he just pulled her a little closer. By now she was pretty sure she was in the best place she possibly could be. She'd scale the teasing down... a little.
So she ran her feet up and down his leg a little to keep herself amused but apart from that she didn't start any new mischief yet. She took a sip from her glass and smiled slightly as he mentioned Italy. She put the glass down as he asked her and smiled broadly. "Regularly. My grandparents came to the UK from Italy when my dad was two. We often sailed there on vacation and then spent a week or so in the village my grandparents used to live before sailing back." To her it was almost a default destination, although she'd wanted to see more of the world than just Italy, especially in her teen years. She'd taken a rare vacation on her own but sailing always had been more important to her than seeing the world so it kept being Italy for her. Not that she minded, it was a beautiful country. "So what is your preferred destination then?" She asked him curiously, shifting slightly so she could also pour him a glass of water. It likely wouldn't take ridiculously long before the food arrived.

Overall the dinner was a delightful and frustrating affair. This temptress seemed determined to tease him every chance she got. He was of half the mind to just take her back to his ship right then and there. But no, he was a patient fellow. Terrifyingly patient. When he felt like it. It was a skill his father had instilled in him. As captain of the ship, he couldn't afford to lose his head and act without thinking. Always wait, always think it over, always be patient. But god, his father clearly hadn't met someone like Deva before. While sailors clearly had a weakness for women in general, Deva was on an entirely different level. Of course her beauty was something that caught his attention immediately. But it was what she said that kept him around. Over dinner they discussed in great length their sailing adventures and love of all things ships and ocean. It was like finding his kindred spirit. Someone that matched his own passion. Of course he'd met a great many people that loved the ocean as much as him but they'd never been exceptionally attractive women who raptured his attention. He was, quite literally, hooked (pun intended).
After dinner, and much more teasing, Bjorn, being the gentleman he was this evening, escorted her home. Not really the most convenient of tasks, but one he felt was very worth it. Plus, he didn't want to leave her side quite yet. Despite the sun having set hours ago. How long had they been enjoying each other's company? Hours, easily. Yet hours did not seem nearly enough. But alas, he had an early morning tomorrow. He would need to meet with a few contacts bright and early, and he couldn't hang onto this beauty all night (despite desperately wanting to). So, alas, the evening finally came to an end.
Bjorn had removed his light jacket as they walked and draped it over her shoulders. At some point his hand had also found her, squeezing it tightly as if she might slip away if he let go. His steps were slow, to prolong the journey, but unfortunately they eventually arrived at her doorstep. "I'd like to see you again." He started, though mentally kicked himself. Like to see her again? That was so old fashion. Sure, he'd been a gentleman all night, but he was far from old fashion! "After all, I have all those promises to keep." He smirked. He had made a good few...

Deva had the time of her life that evening. It was strange how well she got along with this stranger. Instant chemistry and love at first sight, if she was willing to go that far. Considering she was a bit of a hopeless romantic it was definitively the way it currently felt to her. The way she wanted to see the situation. They'd managed to talk for hours on end about their shared love of the ocean and sailing and the passion with which he spoke made him all the more attractive to her. There was something about him that was magnetic and she found herself listening intently to his words, drawn to him more whenever he showed his patience and restraint despite her relentless teasing. He showed that he was interested in her but in much more than just her appearance and her company for a night. He wanted to know her, mind and soul, and explore everything they shared in terms of passions. It was refreshing to meet somebody that had such a pure genuine and open interest in her. Somebody that didn't seem guarded out of fear of something. Just somebody that wanted to know her, where ever that might take the both of them.
So she'd been glad to hear he wanted to walk her home. She trust him to lead her right to her front door and her heart had soared as he'd wrapped his jacket around her. She'd delighted as their hands had intertwined and refused to let go of his hand. Now at long last they seemed to be at the end of their destination and Deva had tried to walk slow as much as he had, attempting to push the inevitable parting of ways as far away as possible. At least they both seemed to agree that it couldn't take long enough to get to that point. He said he wanted to see her again and she smiled and softly chuckled. "Me too." She replied with a smile on her face. "Tonight has been magical." She said in earnest. It had been one of the most magical and special nights she'd ever experienced in her life. Then he reminded her of the promises and she grinned before innocently batting her eyelashes for a moment. "You could come in for a cup of tea or coffee if you'd like." She said innocently. The undertone suggesting it could be more than just a drink if he wanted. Yet so far he'd rejected all her advances and that was fine by her. At least it was because he intended to see her again. She then looked up and smiled slightly. "Or just the drink and nothing else if that takes your fancy. If you'd like that I promise I'll behave this time." She said, her voice calm but clearly accepting whichever choice he wanted to make. She didn't have to work tomorrow, but that didn't mean he didn't have duties while in port. He at least knew where to find her now, in case he ever felt like surprising her. Her eyes wondered across his face for a fleeting moment. They were on borrowed time. "I'll hold you to those promises regardless." She said then with a smile. "You've given me high expectations."

As much as Bjorn wanted to take that offer, he absolutely knew he couldn't. Alone. With her. It had taken all his self control not to just take her and have his way with her in public! God above, he did not have the will to resist those urges in private. But dear god, he wanted to accept. Wanted to spend the rest of the evening with this woman, getting to know her in every way possible. To finally act on all that teasing she'd been tormenting him with throughout dinner. More then that though, he wanted to just not have their time together end. Who was this woman? How had she bewitched him so easily and quickly? Unlike any other woman before. But how did he say no to such an innocently mischievous look? Bjorn smiled just a little, taking a step closer to her. "I don't trust you to behave," he admitted confidently. As her previous actions said.. She was quite the vixen. "Nor would I want you to. Behaving sounds terribly boring."
He moved a little closer, taking her hand and pulling her the rest of the way to him. With his other hand he reached up to brush her hair from her shoulder. "But I'd rather see just how much you want those promises. So I have to, unfortunately, decline." The hand that had brushed her hair came to rest at the back of her neck. "But next time we meet, I make no promises of self control." He'd moved closer as he spoke, until he was just a breath away. After the last work left his lips he finished closing the distance between them and kissed her.

Deva, over the span of just one short night, had fallen head over heels in love with this sailor before her. He was charming, incredibly attractive and seemed to only have eyes for her. What more could she desire? He came closer and she felt her heart flutter straight out of her chest and into his hands. He'd stolen it and she didn't even want it back. She smiled slightly as he mnetioned he didn't trust her to behave. While probably a fair point considering the evening she had meant it. She'd curb herself and behave for him, no matter how hard that would be.
He stepped in and pulled her closer and her stomach swam with butterflies. His touches were like electricity running through her veins, even if they were innocent in nature. She looked up at him, feeling like jelly in his hands. "Then promise me we'll meet again? And that you'll write until we can meet again?" She felt almost like she was begging him but the idea of never seeing him again was unthinkable after tonight. Being with him felt like breathing and she didn't want to know what it felt like to drown. His promise not to exercize self control next they met sounded perfect to her and had her smiling. Just what she wanted. He was so close she could feel his breath on her face, and it was so hard not to close the distance before he stopped talking. Sweet relief flooded her system as he kissed her and she just melted into his arms. She wanted him, desperately but somehow the kiss was not one of lust but of sweet whispers in the night, a candle lit dinner and promises of a potential future. She felt weak in the knees and her head was spinning, but all in the best possible ways. She'd never met somebody like him before, somebody that made her want to drop everything to be with him just a moment longer. When the kiss finally broke she felt flustered but couldn't help but smile. He was a dream, but she'd be forced to wake up again at some point. "Thank you, and I can't wait to see again." She said, her voice barely more than a whisper before she pulled away further regretfully. She opened her door, her eyes barely leaving his face as she did so. "Goodnight and till next time." She said, smiling despite the sadness of his forced departure. She didn't close the door yet, not ready to say goodbye just yet. She'd wait a moment to see him leave, no matter how heavy it made her heart.

That kiss was probably the sweetest thing he'd ever experienced. It was perfect, taking Bjorn's breath away. He wanted to kiss her again, and keep kissing her until he forgot everything else that existed in the world. But alas, now was not the time. It was time to say goodnight to this enchanting beauty. He offered her a smile as the kiss broke, pulling back from. "I promise," he finally answered. He wanted to see her again. And while writing letters might not be appealing in most situations he found himself excited to write her. Though, he was suddenly very aware of one thing that he'd skirted all night.
Deva had moved to the door, opening it and stepping inside. He immediately stepped forward, placing a hand on the door before it closed so he could lean in. "It's Bjorn." He finally said, giving her his name. He'd never offered it that night. But seeing as he wanted to see this enchanting woman in the future.. It was much needed information. He leaned back, taking his hand off the door and stepped away from the door. "Good night, Deva." He added, liking the way her name rolled off his tongue. He took another moment to smile at her as she stood at her door, before turning and walking away. After a few steps, he glanced over his shoulder at the door... smiled, and turned back. He kept walking and shook his head. Damn, and here he'd only come to down for repairs. It seemed he and gotten quite a bit more then he'd bargained for.
