Lulu's enthusiasm about the fairies was kind of funny, Chrissy thought, though it took her some getting used to, too. She flinched a little at Lulu's karate chop move, though she got up off of the ground and went with Lulu when she encouraged her to come with her—in a very interesting operatic manner, no less—and accompanied that with a little dance.
She followed along as Lulu skipped her way in the direction of the Forbidden Forest. Chrissy, not wanting to go into the forest itself, was hesitant about going much farther, but luckily didn't have to. Lulu stopped at about the forest's edge, not far enough inside of the forest that Chrissy thought that they would face any problems from magical creatures—or their teachers.
"Look how cool they are!" Lulu exclaimed, drawing her attention to something on the ground. With the same flair as before, Lulu did so with jazz hands.
"Oh," Chrissy responded quietly. A fairy ring wasn't jewelry at all, and she felt sort of stupid for not having realized that. A fairy ring, in fact, was about the furthest thing from a piece of jewelry one could get; it was a ring of mushrooms—as in, actual mushrooms—in the ground. "So they're mushrooms?" she asked, not knowing what she should have expected from it. True, she hadn't ever seen anything like it, but she also didn't go around the edge of the Forbidden Forest unless she was there for a class for some reason. "Do… Do the fairies plant them like that, or…?"

Lulu kept the crouched position hovering beside the ring of mushrooms. She didn't want to get too close. When Chrissy asked about the rings Lulu's eyes widened and she breathed in excitedly. She loved any reason to share her ideas or beliefs with people who asked. And a lot of times when they didn't. The purple haired snake took on a more serious expression, “Legend says when humans step into a 'ring’ when fairies are dancing around, they may end up trapped there, or in some other realm, for decades, even if it will only feel like minutes...” she faced Chrissy, spoken with great conviction. She believed every word that fell from her lips. The Fae were a very mysterious race. She wished she could leave her current realm as she pleased.
She stood next to Chrissy, still excited about the current topic. Lulu made a face a laughed darkly with a grin, “I also read somewhere that Faeries are known to be very mischievous creatures. They’re known for leaving travelers astray, as well as stealing horses and children and many other oddities.” she told her with a chuckle but not wanting to laugh too much about it. What if they were listening? Hell, she didn't want the fairies to be angry with her. Then they'd never show themself to her. Her hand inched closer to one of the mushrooms, daring to entertain the idea, ”I kinda wanna see what happens…" she stopped herself, retracting her hand back and shooting her body upwards from the ground, "-but also don't wanna risk it, or like, be disrespectful by accident, ya know?”

Learning about the fairy rings from Lulu—even if they were only mushrooms—was pretty cool to Chrissy. She bent down a little bit so that she could see them more closely, and she began to understand why Lulu was so fascinated by them. And here she had thought that it was like some sort of goblin-wrought silver, only with fairies! It was made even more interesting when Lulu told her that legend said that humans who stepped into a fairy ring while the fairies were dancing around could end up trapped or in another realm without their realizing it. Chrissy wasn't sure if she believed that, but she found it preferable to her own, very real experiences. Getting stuck in a fairy realm probably wouldn't have been too bad, honestly, as long as they didn't mind the human company. Lulu added that she had read somewhere that fairies were known to be mischievous creatures that could trick adults and children alike, which meant that they probably would mind having human company in a different realm, Chrissy thought. That was sort of a disappointment to her. "I kinda wanna see what happens…" Lulu admitted, and Chrissy didn't blame her. It was an intriguing thought, at least, but Lulu went back on it, saying that she also didn't want to be disrespectful. "Do you think we could, like, leave a message for them? Somehow?" Chrissy suggested, not sure about what form such a message would need to take. "To see if they're friendly first?"lulu anne blishwick

Lulu smiled down at the mushroom ring as she considered Chrissy's question. She wondered if leaving them a note was possible. Would they even be able to read it? She wondered what language the fae spoke. The purple haired snake jumped up with a lightbulb moment, "Ooh! We can leave them offerings of some sort! Such as sweets and...shiny things." she started, nodding her head up and down as she dug into her inner cloak pocket for another package of sealed Cauldron Cakes. This girl loved her food and always had snacks on her because she always got hungry playing quidditch. She flailed the package in the air above her head before tossing it into the middle of the ring with a dramatic display, which honestly looked a little ridiculous, but she did it with a smile. Now it looked more like rubbish in the middle of a mushroom circle now. Lulu dug deep into her opposite cloak pocket and retrieved a single broken earring. But, hell, it was shiny. She smiled with satisfaction as she nodded her head up and down excitedly. Lulu flung the earring into the circle as well. "Hopefully that will be enough to start sweetening them up for our fare into the fairy realm." she mused with a chuckle. @chrissy

Maybe the idea of leaving a note for the fairies was a little bit childish, but Chrissy knew that fairies were very much real in the magical world. The No-Majes didn't always believe in their existence, but that didn't mean that they didn't exist. They were just tiny, for one thing. For another, the magical world was meant to be a secret.
Lulu, though, had an idea, and the suddenness of it made Chrissy jump. It wasn't anything bad; in fact, it was pretty brilliant. She suggested that they could leave some sort of an offering for the fairies, which made total sense to Chrissy. She suggested sweets and "shiny things", and Chrissy nodded. Just as long as there weren't any Nifflers around to steal their shiny offerings, Chrissy thought, then that would probably work. They couldn't use anything too valuable, though.
Watching as Lulu flung another package of Cauldron Cakes into the air and put it in the center of the fairy ring, Chrissy had to wonder how many more packs of the snack cakes the other girl had carried with her. That wasn't all, however, because Lulu did have something shiny with her, too. It was… a broken earring? Chrissy blinked. It would have to do.
"Hopefully that will be enough to start sweetening them up for our fare into the fairy realm," announced Lulu.
"How soon do you think we should, um, check back?" Chrissy asked, hoping that she wasn't being too presumptuous as she looked between Lulu and the fairy ring on the ground.
