Keeping busy was a perfect distraction. You had homework, classes, the library, if there was still time, she could always work on her video game. The key was to stay busy. Even then, it didn't always help. Friday morning was hard, but the girl had to get up. the girl had to make it to her classes. She was ahead in most of them, so she was sure that her professors would excuse her missing. But Thursday wasn't the type to miss class. She was the type to be there early, take notes, and (if she was feeling good) attempt to answer just about every question posed. Friday didn't end up being one of those days. Thursday laid still, cuddling Bast as she heard the girls from her year get up, dress, and head down to breakfast. Food wasn't something she was really in the mood for right now. After waiting for things to calm down, Thursday sluggishly got up, and changed out of her pajamas. Getting into her school uniform, and robes, she took a deep breath, pulling away from the darkness to think of what classes she had today. The last thing she needed was an unnecessarily heavy bag weighing her down. Her thoughts were enough for the day.
Classes went as expected. Thursday stayed quite, taking notes - fighting to distract herself. If she was ever called on, she was ready. She had already read the books. The class before her lunch wasn't anything special, and honestly, she didn't really pay too much attention. After the class was over, she started to pack everything up. Sluggish was the best way to describe her every move of the day. Concerned, the teacher suggested that she go and see the nurse. Thursday knew what was wrong, but lack of blood was a common misconception of her issue. Drinking the substance defiantly helped. She nodded, and figured it would be a good excuse to skip lunch. She had seven siblings, Thursday wondered how many of them would notice that she had - yet again - skipped two meals in a row again. As a good student, the girl made her way to the hospital wing, asking the nurse for some blood. It had been a time since her last drinking. She sat on one of the beds as she consumed the familiar taste. The nurse also provided her with a few sandwiches and some chocolate. She ate some of them too.
The rest of classes went well enough, but still little change to her demeanor. After her last class of the day, Thursday stole herself to the library. She quickly moved into her favorite study spots, that she deemed her "hiding spot" and worked on the assignments that her teachers had given. She preferred to be ahead in all her classes.
Not much else happened that day, it was quite, seeing as most were at Zombie Island, and after she deemed it safe, the girl made her way to Ravenclaw Tower. She needed help, and she knew that she could get it. Any one of her siblings were willing to help - that was a fact. But asking for it was hard. If she was back at home, she would just sneak into one of their rooms and curl up. Refusing to move until she felt better, or fell asleep. Things were different at school. She was more ALONE. The darknes swirled and she quickly moved to the dorms. Coming with a decision to the girls or boys, she wondered if Tuesday was there. He was probably studying in the Library, like she had been. What if he was there? That would help. She would like that. He could help her feel beater, she knew that. But what if he wasn't there? What if another seventh year boy was there? What would she do? Would she just walk out? That would be so embarrassing.
Thursday looked around the common room, realizing that she had been standing there for an uncomfortable amount of time. Did anyone notice? Her eyes noted the few students there and figured that they were all looking at her up until she started to look around. What was she doing? This was stupid. She was stupid. Without another word, she silently, and for the first time that day, quickly moved to her room. She darted for her four poster, pulling all the curtains for some privacy. She felt the warmth and rumbling form of the Kneazle and held the creature close to her, simultaneously fighting, and wanting the tears to come. "i'm not alone, i'm not alone, i'm not unloved, i'm not...i'm not" she repeated in her head, as her eyes finally released what had been held back.
Thursday didn't know when she had fallen asleep, but she awoke to the giggles of her fellow housemates. Their noise was quickly followed by the door shutting. A boost of adrenalin. Was she late for class?! She darted up, panic striking her, breath becoming short. She closed her eyes "no, this is Saturday" she whispered to herself. She slunk back into bed, wondering where her siblings were. Had any of them noticed that she hadn't stepped foot into the Great Hall all of Friday? Honestly, she didn't really want to go there now. She fell back to bed, pulling her creature close to her again and holding her breath. Wishing that someone would come to her requiem, but knowing that no one would. No one cared. That was a lie. The girl told herself, not entirely convinced of it's truth.
In all honesty, the thought of staying there until Monday morning classes was a tempting one. If she did that, would the Weekly kids send someone to get her down? Probably not. They loved her, she knew that - though it didn't hurt to remind herself regularly. But here at school they had their own lives. Many of them were preparing for their NEWTs this year. Each of them had their own problems. It was nothing less than selfish to expect or even want them to pay attention to her. Need had nothing to do with it. She took a deep breath, trying to not allow herself to sink into her demon.
