All of this is leading to, something that just can't be true
Hugo had taken the night off last night from his usual studying or breaking of curfew gallivanting and actually went to bed early. Though, I think it had more to do with the fact that he was so tired and had such a bust day yesterday. He was awake almost before the sun, but when he opened his eyes he noticed that beam of light through the window. The light that only happens when the sun hadn't shown itself yet, but the light could still reflect. It was probably five am to six am, and he had absolutely no idea why he was awake at such an hour.
Of course, he tried to go back asleep, but his body was telling him he just wasn't tired any longer. So he slid his legs over the edge of the bed and let out a small sigh. It was going to be a long day. He thought to himself, why? Why in the bloody hell are my eyes open.. I don't have class for another four hours or so... He walked slowly into the common room bathroom and looked into the mirror. His hair was that natural spunky poof he had always held and his eyes were droopy.
He splashed some water on his face, proceeded to brush his teeth, and then return to his trunk. He pulled a shirt from the case and slid it on. He figured he shouldn't be shirtless. He also put some socks on over his feet, and then proceeded to head into the common room down the spiral stairs. He stepped softly, knowing that if he didn't he would wake some of the lighter sleepers. Curfew wasn't a morning thing, was it? Hugo didn't know, but regardless, he made his way out of the common room and into the hallway. The towers, an empty one, would be where Hugo would find himself today. With the bottle of water in one hand and his other bare, he headed into the silence of the castle. When he reached the window of the selected empty tower, he peered into the dimmed darkness that the morning was coming out of. It was a pretty array of darker colors. Black mixed with purple and a faint orange.
He hadn't sang in a while, so he decided to give it a go. He started humming the opening line to Fallout, by Marianas Trench. "Testing testing, I'm just suggesting.. You and I might not be the best thing.." He slowed it down, but even if he was out of practice, he could make it work. He liked his voice. Others like his voice, so it wasn't like he was just belting out a song hoping to be heard. He was singing because he just loves to sing. As the beat played in his head, the sky was thinning out of the darker colors and slowly turning into the daytime sky.
He leaned into the stone window with his elbows and put his chin on his hands. He didn't have much time to himself lately, and out of all honesty, he didn't have a lot of time to think about this thing he had in the back of his head. The elephant in the room, for now, would remain a mouse. Until he was ready to tell someone, it didn't matter, right? Wrong. It was causing him to second guess a lot of things. With finding Lysander attractive, a childhood friend that he never thought would have the impression on him, and being coy around the shirtless quidditch players that tend to do a little more for Hugo that he had ever expected, and school, he just had a lot on his plate. How was he supposed to tell people this? He didn't know.
He let out another sigh. A depressed sigh. Almost as if he was asking for help. Lysander wasn't much help, simply because Hugo didn't wanna be like, Hey Ly... ya gay? Wanna tell me if I am? Or just, give me advice on the matter? He chuckled as the conversation played out in his head. "Oh, I can hear him now. Hugo, that was a bold question. Did you really want to ask me that? blah blah.. gosh he has such a reserved adorability.. I sometimes don't get it..." great. Now Hugo was talking to himself. This poor kid. If someone could just show him that it's okay to be gay, he would be okay. Really. Right now, he's scared of rejection. How oddly that sounds, Hugo? Scared? But still, everyone has got something, right?
