Shortly before the Yule Ball, Emrys had been witness to a truly glorious explosion. At the same time, his long term girlfriend had recently, publicly, broke up with him. Her loss. The boy hadn't been, as she expected "faithful" in the last. They had never agreed to that. According to her, it had been and unspoken agreement. He had tried, really tried. And was successful for very short amount of time. But now he was happily unattached. He invited a younger girl that he knew well to the ball. They had a good time, and she didn't seem to complain when he had stepped away to enjoy the company of another for a time.
The Yule ball had ended now, though it was obvious that some wished it to continue. He let watched as the girl he asked, a fellow Slytherin, made her way to the dungeon where their common room was. Leaning on the wall, he watched her, he stayed because there was unfinished business there. As he observed students of all houses and schools departing from the Great Hall, he was approached by a very familiar part veela. His attention was moved to the foreigner and he gave her a knowing smile.

December 2023 @emrys
The Yule ball had been a grand night. Maria had asked Viola to go with them, and shockingly they'd said yes. They'd danced a few times, Maria had kissed them, and eventually gone their separate ways. Now, Maria was quite bored, but not exactly feeling like ending the night like many of her peers. Quite a few of the other seventh years, between all the schools, were going to the Room of Requirements for an "after party". Maria was currently debating whether to join them, and if it would be worth it, when she spotted a familiar face. It was one of the Hogwarts boys. Someone she'd met not to long ago that proved to be quite interesting company. He was very much like her in the happily unattached, but sexually inclined way. Surprisingly, he was alone, like her.
Smirking, she crossed to him, leaning against the wall next to him. "What happened to your cute date? Get bored of her already?" Maria teased. "Or did she catch you flirting with another girl?" Not that Maria was judging said behavior. Maria flirted with literally everything that moved. Emrys was just an unlucky idiot that liked to date girls that wanted to be monogamous when he didn't.

Emrys leaned up against the wall, knowing of the after party that students of his age were heading up for an additional party time. The student that he had taken was younger, and he wasn't sure what he was going to do next. He certainly didn't want to just go to bed. Emrys shifted his attention to the girl approaching him. They had had an interesting meeting to say the least.
She paralleled his action, leaning against the wall. He looked at her, seeing the smirk, wondering if he was thinking about the same thing she was. He smirked back to her. She asked about his date and he laughed "Gotta send the kids off to bed at some point" he chuckled, watching an exceptionally attractive student pass by him. "I'm done with commitment. Any girl who has a problem with that isn't worth a second glance." He muttered, finally returning his gaze to Maria. He knew that she was like him. "What's your plan. Going up?" He gestured to where some of the other seventh years were heading. "Or out." Knowing that the Durmstrang students remained on the ship.

December 2023 @emrys
Maria clasped her hands behind her back and against the wall, just casually leaning there as if without a care in the world. She tilted her head, so that her hair fell off her bare shoulders, to expose her neck and shoulders. "That's why you don't take kids to dances. Where's the fun in that?" They just weren't up to "their" type of fun. Fun that would make said kids blush. She unclasped her hands to cover a yawn as he spoke about commitment. "Does she know that?" she asked. "Wouldn't want another public dumping, would we?" She smirked. It'd been quite the display. His being dumped by his last girlfriend during one of the meals.
Maria brushed her hair onto one shoulder, twirling the locks. "Haven't decided. Either way, the night is still young and I'm bored." She shrugged. "What are your plans?" She asked slowly, as if to test the waters. She might as well end the night on a high note, and certainly he'd be a good time. If he was up to it.

Emrys noticed the strategic way the girl leaned against the wall. Subtly eventuating her curves and simultaneously looking as if she just didn't care about anything. Every move that he saw her make seemed effortless, but strategically tempting. Something told the seventh year that she knew exactly what she was doing, and he liked it. "She was fun, but now I'm done with her." He gave her a knowing smirk. This hadn't been their first interaction of the evening. Emrys was done with commitment. He had taken the younger girl because they were friends. But while he enjoyed some affections with the girl, she was a couple years to young to go down the rabbit hole of fun that he and Maria had gotten up to during the year. But just because he had fun with Maria, didn't mean they were dating he was sure that nothing between he and this girl would last too long. But he could tell, even at a young age, that they had plenty of similarities.
"Does she know that?" Emrys cocked an eye brow and gave a wicked grin to Maria "Does she have to know that?" he asked back. Anyone who had known him well over the years knew that he had wondering eyes far before this year. If the girl he had taken thought that they were now a couple...that was her problem. He gave a laugh when she mentioned the public dumping. "You know, it was much more amusing than I thought it would be." He gave a laugh. She had been so serious, but it had been funny to him. She had left in tears, and he couldn't help but laugh.
The plans for the rest of the evening were the question for every seventh year. There was an after party, but there were also plenty calling it quits for the evening. He had asked her plans, because he wasn't sure of his own. He wasn't sure if he wanted to go up, but he wasn't ready for bed, that was sure. She seemed to be unsure as well. But she felt the same way he did "the night is still young and I'm bored." She then turned the tables on him and he looked at her, giving a smirk. "We could always have a party of our own." He said with a shrug, wondering if she was game.

Maria chuckled at his explanation. "Clearly not fun enough," she teased. If he had been that interested, and the girl interested in him, they wouldn't have parted ways. Though, Maria wasn't really a great example of this either. Viola had slipped out of her fingers during the dance as well. And Maria was surprisingly okay with it. Because she knew Viola would come back. Or Maria would just go find them later. But Viola definitely wasn't up for what Maria had in mind tonight. After all, she'd intentionally chosen a complicated dress to get on and off just so she could... convince someone to help her take it off.
Emrys returned her question with his own and Maria smirked and shrugged. "I suppose not. Just wanted to spare you some more public humiliation." She couldn't really chastise him for not telling people he went after that he wasn't exclusive. Because... she did the exact same thing. The big difference between them though was that she didn't even get to the "dating" phase, whereas he did. As he elaborated that it was more amusing then he would have though she laughed, almost in unison with him. "Boy, you're a sucker for pain, aren't you?" She teased. "Or maybe you just like the attention a little too much." Not that she was judging. She liked to be the center of attention too.
She tilted her head as he offered a party of their own. He was casual about it, but apparently his mind was going to same place her own was. Her eyes slowly trailed down his body... then back up to his eyes. "Know any good places in this castle for a private party?" To be honest, Hogwarts was still a bit of a maze to her. But considering his personality was so similar to her own... He'd know plenty of secluded spots. Just like she knew all the ones at Durmstrang.

The woman teased him, stating that his date wasn't fun enough. But keeping that girl around, would feel more permanent, more long term. That wasn't what he wanted. He had just gotten out of a relationship where he felt tied down. But nonetheless he smiled at her. "She may peak my interest again." He shrugged.
Emrys doubted that the girl wanted to spare him. True he was done with monogamy, but he was confident that he would find himself in the public eye again. He had plans, big plans. After this school year was done, and he was graduated, then his real life would begin. He just needed to finish ironing out the final details. "If she doesn't know what she got herself into, after the public display, then she's dumbed than I gave her credit for."
The two laughed together as he admitted how much fun it had been. Looking over at her with a glint in his eye he smiled "Sometimes pain can be fun." He shrugged "But mostly I just like people watching." He said winking at her with a suggestive look. They could always make their own fun. They had done it before. She looked down him and he let her. He wasn't shy, might as well let her check out what he was offering. Their eyes met again and she finally spoke. He moved his face closer to hers, sharing the same breath "There are a lot of places, unused classrooms, hidden staircases, broom cupboards, there's even a haunted bathroom one floor up...If you're into that kind of thing." He had been hiding his passivate affairs for some time now, he knew where no one looked. Furthermore, this was a night of celebration. Yes, many students had shuffled off to bed, but there was an after party for the seventh years, so no one could get into too much trouble for still wondering the halls.
