He glared at her when she started laughing. He still wasn't mad, but he didn't like being laughed at. Then she told him what flavor it was and Edmund grimaced, his mouth falling out in horror. "You did that on purpose, didn't you?" he accused, pointing a finger at her. Still, through the horror, he could see the humor in it. Hmm ... maybe he'd have to try that on Lucy next year. Except if he did, Will would definitely find a way to get back at him. Probably wouldn't be worth it. "Fine, now you have to make sure I get a good one. Bleh, I need to get that taste out of my mouth now!" He pushed his box into her hands, not ready to try another one unless she said it was good.
He gave a small, proud smile when she congratulated him on catching the frog so fast. Edmund shrugged, "Well I'm pretty sure you had them when you were young, so that's probably not much of an achievement for me to catch it faster," he teased. When she told him he could eat the chocolate, he looked down at the frog in his hands nervously. It was still trying to hop, but he was holding it tightly. He grimaced at the thought of breaking off a piece while it was still moving. He sat down next to her again, deciding to wait until the frog was still before eating it. That seemed ... better.

@edmund <3 Edmund pointed his finger at her and her eyes widened, but she still had a large grin. Addi couldn't help it. He was just too funny. "I did do it on purpose, E!" Oh. She hoped that was alright to call him that...she squinted her eyes as she looked at him then looked into the package. Mmm! Caramel, perfect. "Here! Try this one."
"Well, yes I did but still! I doubt I could even catch them now. I haven't had one for awhile." She watched as he kept it in his hand. Addi supposed it would be weird, to eat a frog that looked like chocolate. But she had grown up with it so it wasn't so much different for her than it was for him. But she understood...she wouldn't want to eat, say, a Phoenix.

He glared at her some more, but this time it was to try and keep himself from smiling. The corners of his lips still turned up, he couldn't stop himself. So he pretended like it didn't matter. "I thought we were friends! And you gave me a booger flavored bean on purpose," he accused, trying to sound offended. Still, he liked how she gave him a nickname. No one had ever called him that before and he liked it. When she held out another one for him, he eyed it suspiciously. "You promise this one isn't bad?" he asked hesitantly. "What flavor is it?"
Edmund shrugged when she said she probably couldn't catch one now. He'd see when she opened her box. But finally the frog stopped moving. He looked down and broke off a piece of its leg, throwing it in his mouth quickly. Delicious. Edmund had a thing for chocolate. Good chocolate, that is. He was actually very picky about the chocolate he would eat, but he liked this one. He was relieved to know that Wizards had good chocolate too. "This is really good," he commented to Addilyn as he broke off another piece. This frog wasn't going to last long.

@edmund <3 She was so glad he wasn't angry, and she grinned brighter when he laughed. "I am your friend! But jokes are funny!" Addilyn rose an eyebrow at him as she handed him the other bean. "Well...this one is caramel flavored, so no worries there!"
Addi watched him eat the chocolate frog and she was glad that he enjoyed it. They were absolutely delicious, and it was one thing her mum always made sure they had in the house. Especially when Grey got into his moods...he loved those frogs. "It is pretty good! I've got some packed in my bag from home. So if you ever want any, I've got them!"

Edmund rolled his eyes, "Yeah, jokes are funny, when they're not on you!" He teased, even though he tried to make it sound like he was arguing. This was weird. Why was he teasing and laughing and smiling with this girl? He hadn't acted this way in years and never with a stranger. At the same time, he liked the care-free feeling. Maybe he should search her out a little while they were at school, even though she wasn't going to be in his house. He popped the bean in his mouth and smiled in relief. "This one is good. Why would wizards want to come up with bad-tasting candy though?" he asked curiously. The idea of it was still strange to him.
He laughed when she said he could get chocolate frogs from her whenever she needed one. "Don't worry, I'll let you know if I ever am in need of some chocolate," He looked around trying to think of something else he could say. He didn't want things to get awkward, especially since he had no idea how long they would be on the train. "You have any idea how long it takes to get to Hogwarts?" He finally asked, looking out the window curiously.

@edmund <3 Hmm. She actually didn't know the answer that question. "I'm not sure. Maybe cause it's funny, so just as a joke? Or maybe even a game!" Addi grinned brightly. She looked into her box and ate a few more, some bad ones followed by good ones to rid the taste.
Edmund asked about the train ride and she looked out the window. Getting up, she opened their compartment door and looked down the halls, looking for Grey or Claire. They weren't in sight so she sat back down. "I don't know, an hour or two maybe?"

"A game?" Edmund repeated as he thought through the idea. He could imagine some crazy, sadistic people seeing every flavor beans as some type of a game, but he knew he wouldn't want to play it. He didn't eat candy so he could get grossed out by it, he ate it because it was supposed to be delicious. "No thanks! I think I'll play something else, that's not so dangerous for me."
He nodded when she said they had an hour or two left. What were they supposed to talk about for two hours? Edmund was not very good at talking with people, so he really didn't know what he was supposed to do. "Umm ... well what do you want to do then? Or talk about, I guess?" He didn't know what else to say, so he just waited for her to lead the conversation. She seemed to like that.

@edmund <3 Addi grinned brightly at him. She thought the game was pretty fun, but maybe that's cause she grew up playing it. It wasn't so bad for her, but Grey was a riot when she played with him. He gets so angry that he stops playing. That probably isn't the best way for Addilyn to get closer to him, but hey, it was funny. "Okay! There's tons of games. Like wizards chess!"
"Uh, I don't know! What's your favorite color? Do you have any pets?"

"Wizards Chess?" Edmund asked skeptically. Did they really change the game of chess? How? "What's Wizards Chess? Don't you guys just play normal chess?" He gave a light laugh to hide his confusion. He didn't like being confused and out of his depth, but that was definitely how he felt here. He didn't understand half the things that people talked about. Hopefully that would get better.
Then she started asking questions. Normally Edmund would tell people to leave him alone once they started asking questions, but something about this girl was different, as he noticed when she joined him in the first place. He cocked his head to the side a little and looked at her. "I like green the most, but blue is all right. And no, I don't have any pets. What about you?"

@edmund <3 "Yes! We have both chess, but wizard's chess is super fun!" Addilyn giggled. She knew he was confused, so she decided to explain. "The pieces move. And you just tell them what to do! And they'll do it! It can actually get a little gruesome...but it's fun! We should play when we get to Hogwarts!" Her excitement was flowing.
As Addilyn Joy listened to him, she tilted her head and gave him a smile. Listening to him was enjoyable, and she could tell they'd be pretty good friends. That is, if he wanted to even be friends with her. "My favorite color is yellow! And I also really like purple. And no...I don't have any pets either. I wish I did though! I love animals. And I really love dogs. My favorite breed is a Great Dane. I hope to get one when I get older. I love them!"

The pieces move themselves. Well, that wasn't too bad. Actually that sounded cool. "What do you mean, it gets gruesome? All you said was the pieces move where you tell them to ..." he trailed off, not particularly liking being confused still, but happy because he was sure she'd explain a little more. Besides, he was pretty good at chess, so it sounded like fun. "I'm going to take you up on that," he promised her. "I love normal chess, so I want you to show me how to do wizards chess."
"What's so good about yellow and purple?" he asked curiously. From listening to his sisters, he knew that a lot of times girls had reasons for their favorite colors, so he wanted to hear hers. "And dogs are fantastic! I always wanted a dog, but my Mum didn't like the idea. She thought I'd get bored of it and stop taking care of it ..." he got lost in his thoughts. He almost got a dog when his dad died, but Mum changed her mind at the last minute. "I've never seen a Great Dane though," he added, not wanting to get questioned more about his Mum.

@edmund <3 "Good! I can't wait to play!" She smiled brightly at him. Wizards chess was extremely fun, however it wasn't fun playing with Claire. No one ever won. Addi was positive that she cheated, so was Grey, but Claire would throw a fit if either of them ever told her that. "And...we'll, they pretty much attack each other to get the other off the board." Addi grinned.
Addilyn shrugged at him. "I like the bright colors, and they go together...and I look good in them!" She smiled. "Yellow reminds me of the sun. And purple is just such a fun color." Addi hadn't actually thought about that before now. "Great Dane's are huge! As tall as me! But they're cuddly and protective and lovable! Dogs are great."

Edmund smiled at her enthusiasm. How could he not? "All right, just remember to take it easy on me. I'm not used to wizards chess, where the pieces attack one another ... there's never a question about who's going to win though, right? It has to be the one that should win, like in normal chess, right?" he asked, wondering if that might be another difference between wizards chess and the normal version he knew so well.
Edmund gave a small laugh, "Well it sounds like both colors fit you then. And those dogs sound super cool. I never really thought about what kind of dog I wanted, I just always wanted to have one. Protective and lovable sounds good though. Not sure how I feel about it being as tall as us though," he added, guessing that he and Addilyn were about the same height, though he hadn't stood up next to her, so he couldnt' be sure.

@edmund <3 Addilyn winked at the boy. "I can't go easy on you! Well...I could. But then you'd win! And it is the same as regular chess, so you don't have to worry. Nothing is different other than it's magic." She grinned. Addi enjoyed teaching him about wizarding things, it made her seem smart and intelligent. Exactly what her parent's wanted them to be, and she had to conform to their rules.
He complimented her and she turned a bright pink, smiling shyly. "Well...thanks!" It was unusual for anyone to compliment her, let alone a boy! It gave her a weird feeling in her belly. She coughed and then looked out the window. She didn't know exactly what to say anymore. However, he then brought the dog back up and she looked right back at him. "They're good dogs! They're height is just a plus."

Edmund threw his hands in the air, partly teasing, but also partly serious. "Yeah, that's comforting. All the same, except it's magic. I'll have you know, magic makes lots of things WAY different without witches and wizards noticing at all. Like your chocolate frogs," he gave an example but didn't explain it. He wasn't exactly sure if that example showed what he was trying to express .... so he wasn't going to explain unless she asked him to.
He wrinkled his nose at her, "You know, I'll just take your word for it," he wasn't sure if he believed her, but he'd try. "So what's your favorite food?" Edmund couldn't stand the silence, so he cast his mind around for some kind of idea for something to say and that's what he came up with.
