@edmund <3 Addilyn couldn't stop giggling, her hand over her mouth. She sat up higher on the booth, crossing her legs and putting her elbows on her knees and her head in her hands. "Oh, you'll be fine! No need to fret, E! It's just a game! Unless of course...you're a sore loser!" Addi giggled again.
She tilted her head at him, thinking. That was actually a hard question. Who didn't love food? And she especially had tons of different foods she liked. "I LOVE French toast! And I also love peanut butter and crackers. It's not really a food though...do you mean like a dinner?" Addi wasn't sure what exactly he wanted for an answer, so she had just thrown her main likes out there.

She was giggling and Edmund didn't know how to react to that. Most people didn't giggle around him, they got uncomfortable and upset because he was so ... taciturn. But Addilyn? Not her. And there she went, calling him E again. He kind of liked it. He glared at her with his eyes, fighting to keep the smile off his face. "I am not a sore loser! I'm just ... very competitive." Alright, he was a sore loser, but he didn't want to admit that to Little Miss Cheerful over there.
He shrugged. "I mean, what's your favorite thing to eat. Meal, snack, treat? All or one, I'm just curious." He smiled at her answers though. "French toast is good. I like basically any breakfast food." It wasn't a big admission, not really, but Edmund hadn't talked this much about himself in a long time. It was all adding up too. Their whole conversation. He couldn't remember the last time someone spoke with him for so long.

@edmund <3 Addilyn laughed at his glare. "You are too a sore loser! I can totally tell!" Addi's cheeks became pink from laughing so much and her face began to hurt. "Don't worry, I'll let you win."
Edmund mentioned that he enjoyed breakfast food and Addi nodded her head. "I could eat breakfast for every meal! I also like bacon, and I love meatloaf!" It may seem like a weird item, but she also loved them together, with some barbeque sauce!

"I don't know what you're talking about," Edmnd answered airily before grinning at her. It was hard not to when she was laughing so hard. She was actually turning pink. He couldn't remember the last time he saw someone laugh like that. "You might want to stop laughing though. You look like you're gonna explode." He wasn't trying to be rude, he actually wanted to make her laugh more. It was fun to watch. He smirked playfully at her, "I don't need you to let me win, I'll do that on my own," Edmund wasn't sure if he'd be able to do that, but he didn't want her to not try.
Edmund blinked for a second before deciding that he wanted to keep on teasing her. "You eat meatloaf with your breakfast? I've never heard of that one before. I do love bacon though. And sausage."

@edmund <3 Oh! How rude! She was not going to explode! And yet, she continued laughing. She wasn't sure why she was giggling anymore but hey, being happy is a good thing. "Well, maybe I'll go easy on you and not let you win...I haven't quite decided yet."
His next comment about her liking meatloaf for breakfast made her give him a weird look. "No not for breakfast! I just like meatloaf! You're goofy."

Edmund rolled her eyes. Not only was she still giggling, but she was still arguing the point. "You know what, I think neither of us should go easy on the other. It sounds like you might be just as competitive as I am." It really didn't sound like that at all, but he was making a shot in the dark. He wouldn't be surprised if she was competitive. He hoped she was. That would make playing wizards chess even more fun than it sounded like it was going to be.
Goofy? No one had every called him goofy before. Edmund wasn't sure if it was a positive thing, or negative, or maybe somewhere in between. He didn't know what to think about this girl in front of him. "Me? Goofy? You're the one who said you like meatloaf and bacon in the same breath. What was I supposed to think?"

@edmund <3 Edmund rolled his eyes and Addilyn stopped giggling, looking at him with a raised brow. Oh, was she competitive. Addi loved winning; that could usually be taken as a bad characteristic, but that's what she gets for growing up with a brother like Grey. "Well that sounds good to me, E."
"Well hey! Have you ever had bacon wrapped meatloaf? It's pretty delicious...but I also do like bacon on it's own or with breakfast." Addi knew she was goofy, but Edmund didn't seem to like that comment. Maybe he wasn't goofy, she'd just have to get to know him more, which she planned on. "But anyways, what's your favorite food?"

Edmund knew it! He was so right, she was competitive. He could see it in the glint in her eye, the fact that she accepted his challenge and wasn't going to go easy on him during their game. Good. That would make it a lot more interesting, though Edmund was sure it would take a little time for him to get used to wizards chess. "Good. We'll have to have a go at it sometime soon then," he suggested, excited at the idea.
He rolled his eyes when she started going on about bacon-wrapped meatloaf. She was funny, not that he really wanted to admit that to her. "Bacon is always good ... but I don't think I want to try your bacon meatloaf. Sorry," he teased her with a straight face. Then she asked his favorite food. He shrugged, "I don't really have a favorite food. It depends on my mood entirely. One day I'll like something, and the next day I won't like it at all and I want something completely different. Except for sweets. Cookies and brownies and ice cream. I'm always in the mood for sweet things. Oh!" His eyes widened as he remembered his favorite dessert. She was going to think he was ridiculous. "Bread pudding. That's my favorite. Definitely."

@edmund <3 "Well I can't wait!" Addi grinned back at him. She wasn't sure she'd actually win, however she'd assume so since he's never played it before. But then again, it was the same as muggle chess, the pieces just moved on their own.
Addilyn watched him roll his eyes and her jaw dropped open, shocked at his action. "Don't roll your eyes! It's delicious. You're just boring." She smirked at him. Of course it was a joke, but she had just hoped that Edmund knew that. She really didn't think he was boring, she was enjoying his company quite a bit. Addi tilted her head at him. "I don't think I've ever had bread pudding, if I'm being honest. But I do like sweets!"

Edmund rolled his eyes again when she told him not to. Even though he liked this girl and her attitude, he didn't take orders from anyone. His family was fully aware of that, so he might as well make that clear at school as well. "Come on now, Addilyn. We both know you're making that up. Just like we both know I'm not boring," he said confidently, though he didn't really feel like it was true. He was boring and taciturn and a pain, but he was going to pretend like he didn't know that.
His mouth fell open when she said she never had bread pudding. "What do you mean you've never had bread pudding! That's just ..." words failed him and his eyes darted around the compartment as he tried to come up with the word. Eventually he settled for a lame one. "That's just wrong. I'm going to have to make sure you try some, once I get the recipe from my Mum." Edmund's voice was decisive. As soon as he got to school he'd find a way to send a message to his mom and ask her for the recipe. Then he would find a way to make it for this girl. "That solidifies it. We really can be friends now," he added after she said that she liked sweets, smiling at her.

@edmund <3 He rolled his eyes and Addilyn's mouth dropped open. How rude! "Oh, Edmund. Trust me, I am not lying! It is delicious. I'll have to cook it for you one day." Addi winked at him and grinned brightly. Hopefully in the years to come, they were still close. Not only that, but she hoped that she remembered to cook him meatloaf wrapped in bacon! "But, yes, I know you're not boring. You're quite fun."
He was clearly upset that she had never had bread pudding before, and Addi found it funny. "Well, you can cook it for me. Or make it, not sure what it is or if it involves cooking or not. But, we could also ask the house elves to make us some at Hogwarts!" When Edmund smiled back at her, she felt her cheeks blush a light pink. "Well, like I said, I've always got chocolate on me! But I hoped we'd be friends even if I didn't like chocolate." She let out a gentle giggle.

Edmund narrowed his eyes as he looked at her. He was pretty sure she was just making this up, but he didn't want to offend her. "How about this? I won't say you're lying, but I won't believe you until you show it to me," he suggested casually. He raised an eyebrow when she said he was fun, "I think you're the first person to ever call me fun..." Edmund mused.
He grinned, "I'm planning on making it for you. That's why I said I had to ask my Mum for the recipe. Wait. What are house elves?" Was this another magical thing he was ignorant about? He shrugged, "Yeah, we'd be friends, but sweets make everything better, even friendships," he made up.

@edmund <3 "Okay! Deal. I'll show you. But...I'm just not sure when, so this promise doesn't have a time limit, okay?" Addi grinned. She wished she could cast a charm on herself to remind her of this day, that way she wouldn't forget to make it for him. "You are fun! I don't believe I'm the only one to have said that, you're funny too." Addi looked at him gently.
Addilyn nodded her head. "I'm sure you making it will be even better!" Tilting her head at him, she realized this is probably what she was going to be doing for awhile, telling him of all magical things. "Well, they're elves. They...well, they do whatever you ask of them. Cook, clean, go run errands, anything really. They only have one master, whom they listen to. But all the house elves at Hogwarts are treated exceptionally well!" Addi smiled. Her own family didn't have one, but she knew that some Wizarding Families didn't treat them very well. "Well I'm glad! You're my first friend, Edmund."

"Alright, but don't you think I'm going to let you get out of it. I won't forget this," Edmund grinned back at her. He laughed outright - still surprised by how easily she made him do that - when she told him he was fun. "Alright, maybe my first impression is that I'm fun. Let's check on that in a few months and see if you know the real me yet."
Edmund liked the idea of house elves. "Maybe they already know what bread pudding is," he mused thoughtfully. That would definitely make things easier. Edmund wasn't the best cook and didn't want Addi to hate bread pudding just because he didn't know how to make it right. Edmund looked up at her, surprised when she said he was her first friend. He smiled back gently, "Thanks. You're my first friend in a long time." Maybe that was unnecessary, but he wanted to tell her the truth always.

@edmund <3 "Don't you worry! I won't forget either. Bacon wrapped meatloaf, that'll be the first thing I cook you!" She smiled at him. She just hopes it comes out good...her mom is the one who usually made it, with little help from Addi, but she was sure she'd get the hang of it when she started. "Well, you are fun, and I'm sure in another three months I'll STILL find you fun. But I'll wait and see, just for you."
Addi thought about the house elves that she had met before and she shrugged. "Quite possibly. They know a lot of things. Even bread pudding." They made some pretty intricate things, so she assumed whatever bread pudding was that it couldn't be all that hard. Addi wasn't sure what Edmund meant by a long time, but she supposed it was a good thing. As much good as an eleven year old could imagine. "Good. I'm glad."
