Waking up was not nearly as pleasant as going to sleep had been - Oscar felt someone jostle his foot, and he looked around, bleary and bewildered. It was a smallish looking kid who had knocked his foot, one Oscar didn't recognize, and as he became more and more aware, he realized that he wasn't in the carriage. He had fallen asleep on the floor of Hogwarts, and now there were people moving through the hall. Oscar checked the watch on his wrist - it was just ten minutes before curfew. He would need to move fast to make it to the carriage on time. First, though, he had to wake up Anna. Ozzy hesitated - she looked so peaceful, sleeping, but he knew she wouldn't be pleased if she got in trouble for being out past curfew on the best night of her life. Carefully, he touched her shoulder. "Anna." He said, quietly but urgently. "Anna, wake up. It is time to go back to the tower." Oscar was half-whispering, half-speaking, but he really didn't want to have to wake Anna up in a less pleasant manner.

Anna could feel Oscar moving a little bit. A part of her brain was telling her that it was time to wake up and that she should probably start moving. What if it was past curfew already? But Anna didn't want to get up. When Oscar started trying to wake her up, she finally gave in, rousing herself faster than she normally would have when she felt him touch her shoulder. She sat up, rubbing her eyes slowly as she tried to really wake up her body from how tired she was. She really never would have thought she could sleep so well on the floor. It was Oscar. She was sure she wouldn't have found that half as comfortable without him. "How long do I have?" she asked, still rubbing her eyes. "Sorry I fell asleep on you," she added even though she didn't really mean it. She was positive that he fell asleep too, so what did she have to be sorry for really? She looked over at him with an easy smile. He really was very cute, especially now, though she couldn't explain why. Not even to herself. Good thing she didn't say her thoughts out loud. That would not be a fun conversation to have, she was sure. Too much teasing would be involved. Besides that, there really wasn't time to tease one another at the moment. Sadly

Oscar was relieved that Anna woke up with only a little prompting; he would have hated to have to jar her awake in a less pleasant manner. When she woke up, it seemed to be rather quickly – one moment she was rubbing her eyes, and the next she was talking, with hardly any bleariness in her voice. Ozzy wondered if Anna was a morning person. That would be a good thing to know, and he made a mental note in the back of his head to ask Anna at a more fortuitous time. “Ten minutes.” He answered her quietly, still reluctant to speak in a loud voice when she was just out of the arms of sleep. “It is fine.” Oscar said with a smile when she apologized for sleeping on him. “I might have fell asleep a little on you, as well.” He chuckled. Oscar stood up, and offered Anna his hand. “I will have to run to get to the carriage on time, probably.” Ozzy lamented. “But it was a nice nap. Especially since there will be many parties later, I am sure.” Oscar didn’t really feel like listening to people sing Emile’s praises, but it was more or less inevitable, and at least now he wasn’t going to be tired and bitter – just bitter. “Send me an owl later, perhaps?” He suggested. “And then I will not have to wait for you.” Though they both knew he would wait, if that was what Anna wanted.

Anna shook her head when he said ten minutes. Wait, that meant she had ten minutes to get to the tower. That shouldn't be a problem though, unless the stairs were being problematic. Still, with the way things were going for her tonight, the stairs would do exactly what she wanted them to. She wasn't worried. She laughed when he said that he fell asleep on her too. "I won't hold it against you," she teased, taking his hand when he offered to help her up. Once she was standing, she squeezed it gently. She should let go, but she didn't want to, so she laced her fingers with his instead. She made a face at him, "Good luck with that. It's not going to be hard for me to make it back, once I get off this floor." Anna couldn't believe she said that; it slipped out before she could really stop herself. She was implying that once they separated it wouldn't be hard for her to get back ... What would he think of that? Her expression fell a little when she thought of him going back to the carriage, "I'm sorry." She knew he didn't want to hear it, but she really was and she couldn't stop herself from expressing it one last time. "Of course I will. After all, you do still have to help me practice, remember?" She should let him go. He was going to have to run to make it, she shouldn't keep him there any longer. She squeezed his hand one more time before forcing herself to pull her fingers out of his. "We should go. I'll see you soon," She made the phrase a question, but then kicked herself. They had to go! Anna flashed Oscar a bright smile. "Bye!" She forced herself to turn away and jog toward the stairs, smiling to herself when they were ready to take her right where she wanted to go. She turned and waved to Oscar one last time before running up them quickly. @oscar --- the end ---
