Oscar seemed somewhat surprised when she mentioned that they didn't always get along, which made Anna smile fondly. They really hadn't known how to get along back then, but things were so much better now. "I'm glad we figured it out," she answered after a moment. Then Oscar seemed to be rejoicing at the idea of not ever needing to study again. "Unless it's for your job," she retorted smartly, knowing that there was a difference there but saying it all the same. She rolled her eyes, "Sometimes I need to take breaks though, but I won't unless someone asks me to," she admitted, wondering how he would respond to that. She wanted him to feel comfortable asking her to spend time with him, even when she was supposed to be studying. Oscar was worth taking breaks for. Anna's mouth fell open when he blocked the paper and told her not to play with him. "Why-ever not? Might I remind you that you threw it first?" She wasn't really upset, of course, but interested in what he was doing. It may simply be teasing but with Oscar, Anna was never quite certain.

Oscar gave Anna a soft smile when she said she was glad they had figured their relationship out. “I am, too.” He wasn’t sure how long he could have lasted if all that he and Anna did was bicker – it was fun, at the time, but it was also exhausting, and he left the argument feeling exhilarated and drained at the same time. Now when he was around Anna, it was just exhilarating. “If I like it, it does not count as studying.” Oscar protested when Anna said that he wouldn’t be studying unless it was for his job. Studying, by its very nature, was unenjoyable, so when he did something he enjoyed, it didn’t feel like studying. It wasn’t studying. When Anna said that sometimes she needed breaks, and wouldn’t take one until someone asked, Oscar blinked at her. While he joked about her studying all the time, he also knew that she definitely spent a lot of time not studying – mostly when she was hanging out with him. “I thought I did that already.” He didn’t specifically ask her to take a break, but he asked her to do something else with him, and Anna normally obliged. “Games are only fun when I win. And I learned my lesson from the snowball fight.” Oscar had lost massively in their short-lived snowball fight, but that was mostly the snow’s fault.

Anna couldn't help but smile, "Are you so sure you're going to like your first job then?" she teased, because now if he didn't like it, that meant it would be studying. He seemed stunned by what she said about not being able to take breaks from studying and she understood why when he spoke again. She shrugged, not bothered by his confusion. "You do. I was just saying ... if you ever want to pull me out of studying more, I won't object," Anna admitted. Taking breaks to be with Oscar were the best kind of breaks. Then she rolled her eyes. "That's ridiculous. If you want to win, you have to earn it," she told him with a smile on her face to show she was partially teasing.

When Anna asked if he was going to like his first job, Oscar shrugged. He wasn’t much good at thinking about the future and his plans were nebulous at best, so thinking about whether or not he would enjoy his career wasn’t really at the front of his mind. He just wanted a job, so that he could support himself, and possibly Anna. That was something else they needed to talk about if they were still together at the end of the year – and Oscar couldn’t see why they wouldn’t be. “Good to know.” Oscar said with a bright smile when Anna said that she would be glad to be pulled away from studying more. Maybe then he’d feel less guilty about asking her to do things with him. Asking her away from studying just to talk seemed rather useless to him, so unless he had something he specifically wanted to do, Oscar was going to refrain. “I would earn it…if I wanted to play.” Oscar said, sticking out his tongue. It was easy to get the first cheap shot, but beyond that it was too much effort.

Anna couldn't tell if Oscar really believed her or not. She hoped that he did because she really wanted to spend more time with him, but she also didn't want to pull him away from what he needed to do. So ... if he were to seek her out that would be easier for her, naturally. "I really mean it," she told him, probably unnecessarily. She rolled her eyes again, "So you just want to start games and then quit before you can lose?" she jabbed. Really, Anna just wanted to do something with him, she didn't care what or where.

Oscar arched his eyebrows at Anna when she said that she really meant what she said about wanting to take more breaks. “I never said that you did not.” He said quietly, cocking his head at her. Did she think that he didn’t want more excuses to talk to her, or was she just really desperate for more time off? Oscar didn’t want to ask. Anna rolled her eyes at his comment about winning and putting in effort, and Oscar shrugged at her question. “I am French. I am very good at surrendering.” He told her. And really, was quitting that bad? All it did was save his effort and energy for something he might have a better chance of doing well at. That was why he only focused on a few of his school subjects – it was a survival strategy.

Anna smiled and looked away, a little embarrassed. "I know. I don't know why I said that again," she replied, a little more shyly than she expected to. She knew she didn't really need to be shy around Oscar, but sometimes that's what came out. Then he said he was good at surrendering and Anna looked back and smiled at him. "You don't need to always surrender with me. I don't need to always win," she teased a little. She didn't think that she always won, but maybe she did. After all, Anna was a little too competitive for her own good. She shifted a little and looked at him. "But really, what are we going to do if not study?" Anna couldn't think of a thing.

Oscar reached out to touch Anna’s cheek gently. He hadn’t meant to make her feel awkward by pointing out her repetition. The touched was short and simple, and Oscar withdrew his hand, which was good, because he let out a loud laugh and threw his hands out when Anna said that she didn’t need to win all the time. Obviously she hadn’t spent much time with herself, because Anna was scary competitive. “You only need to win most of the time.” Oscar said, chuckling again to himself. That was part of the reason why he was worried about the Triwizard Tournament, if he was honest. Beyond being bodily harmed, Oscar also worried that his girlfriend could be hurt emotionally or mentally if she realized that she couldn’t always win. Not that Oscar doubted Anna’s skills, but Émile had done impressively in the first task, and it was possible that he would win. The Durmstrang boy looked to be a flop, but that was beside the point. “Sit and enjoy the silence?” Oscar asked Anna. That was doubtful, considering how much he hated to be quiet.

Oscar only touched her cheek for a moment, but Anna instantly felt comforted and leaned into the touch. She knew Oscar didn't want to make her feel bad; she knew that from the beginning. Then he laughed and Anna glared a little. "Alright, so I'm competitive, but that doesn't mean I don't know how to lose!" She argued. Then after a short pause, she lifted a finger at him, "And don't just give in so that I can win. I'm not being competitive right now." Really, Anna felt trapped. She knew she was competitive, but she wasn't that bad, was she? After a few seconds she calmed down, enough that she heard Oscar suggest that they could sit and enjoy the silence. "Well we're sitting ... so I guess we just have to be quiet to start that one out," she giggled and then made her face serious. "Alright, starting ... now!" Anna closed her mouth and looked at Oscar with a smile, not really sure how long either of them were going to be able to do this.

Anna admitted that she was competitive, and Oscar nodded vigorously. Everyone knew that. When she said that she did know how to lose, Oscar raised his eyebrows. “Name one time when you have lost something against me.” He said. She had won the pillow fight, and the leaf fight, and the snowball fight, and if it had continued, she was sure to have won the parchment fight. (Most of their fights, it seemed, involved some sort of easily throwable inanimate object.) Anna had technically lost the First Task since she hadn’t come in first, but she hadn’t been in third, either, so maybe that was a poor example. “I did not give in so you could win. I gave in so that I could not lose.” A forfeit was better than an outright loss, in Ozzy’s opinion. When Anna agreed to his idea of sitting and enjoying the silence, she pointed out that they had to be quiet, and Oscar mimed zipping his mouth shut and tossing away the imaginary key. He stared at Anna for a few moments, but then pulled a funny face, hoping to make her laugh – and lose.

Oscar challenged her to think of something she lost at with him and Anna thought hard, trying to come up with something. Alright, so she did win most of the things they did together, but part of that was because he normally gave in! Then something occurred to her. "I lost when it came to flipping a crepe," she answered with a small smile. It was fun to remember those moments when their friendship was first beginning. She shrugged when he said he didn't give in so she could win, but so he wouldn't lose. That seemed like the same thing to her, but she wasn't going to argue it with him. She rolled her eyes when he zipped his mouth shut, but she didn't look away. What was the point, since she wasn't studying so she could spend time with him? What she wasn't expecting was for him to make a funny face at her. As she felt a giggle rising, Anna moved her hand to cover her mouth, but it still came out. She shrugged and laughed, reaching toward and pushing his shoulder lightly. "You did that on purpose," she accused with a smile.

Oscar gave Anna a dubious look when she said that she had lost at flipping a crepe. “I was not aware that was ever a competition.” He teased her. It very well could have been, but Oscar’s memories of that night were hazy as more and more time passed, and there were more good memories to supersede the old ones. He blinked at Anna when she rolled her eyes at him, half-tempted to wink instead, but Oscar was already going to be in trouble for making the face, if Anna’s expression was anything to go by. She had giggled, and therefore broken the silence, first, and even if that hadn’t been an official competition, Oscar was going to chalk it up as a small win. When Anna said that he made her laugh on purpose, Oscar batted his eyelashes at her, giving her a look that couldn’t have said ‘who, me?’ any clearer. “What if I did? What will you do to me, Anna?” Oscar teased. They both knew there were few things that she could do to upset him, so Oscar was curious to see if she came up with a good punishment.

Anna shrugged and tried to hide her smile at Oscar's obvious surprise. "Well according to you, basically everything is a competition with me so ... I definitely lost that one." Teasing Oscar was fun, especially when he was in such a lighthearted mood like he was today. Him making faces at her was proof of that. She giggled again when he batted his eyelashes, shaking her head at his ridiculousness. Then he asked what she was going to do if he did make her laugh on purpose and Anna thought for a moment. "Well ... I could always go back to studying," she commented, though she wrinkled her eyes at her own suggestion. She didn't want to do that. Realizing that he would recognize her expression for what it was, she continued thinking. "Or ... I could ..." What could she do to him that wouldn't be a punishment to her as well?? "... ignore you?" That would be a challenge, and while it would certainly be difficult, she might be able to do it ... though probably not. It might be fun to try though. "Yeah, I think I could do that," she added, glancing at him to see his response.

Oscar glared at Anna, not a fan of having his words twisted back around him. Things had only started becoming really competitive between then after Anna had become Champion, as far as Oscar was concerned. They had made the crepes before the Champions were announced, if Oscar’s memory served him correctly, so that meant that it hadn’t been a competition. Simple. He wasn’t going to tell Anna that, though, because she would probably argue with him about it. When Anna struggled to come up with a punishment for him, Oscar just blinked at her. The joy of this was that anything that she could do to punish him would be punishing her, too – like going back to studying. When Anna suggested ignoring him, Oscar blinked again. “You would not do that.” He told her confidently, even though he wasn’t sure that it was the truth. Anna loved him, but she was also stubborn, and loved being right, so if ignoring him for a while meant that she would win? She’d probably do it, even if she didn’t like it, either.

Oscar was ... too much fun. Anna enjoyed spending her time with him, whether he was being silly and making faces at her or glaring at her playfully. She was pretty sure that no matter what she did, he wouldn't be truly angry at her, and as long as he wasn't really angry she didn't mind anything that happened with them. He blinked at both of her suggestions of something she could do, but then he said that she wouldn't ignore him. Hmmm ... this might be fun. "What if I did? Then what would you do?" Anna didn't know if he'd answer the question just to try and convince her to not do it or if he would refuse to answer the question. All the same, this was an interesting idea. Part of her wanted to find out if Oscar would ignore her back or if he would try to be so ridiculous that she couldn't ignore him. She could easily see him doing both and succeed at them. She tried to think if there was anything else she could do to punish him, but this seemed to be the most interesting idea, by far.
