The longer he waited for her to try and answer his joke, the happier Oscar seemed to get. Anna wasn't quite sure she understood how that worked, but she was glad that he was happy and she couldn't really be angry right now. He gave the punchline, hitting the table and laughing loudly and Anna found herself starting to chuckle a little. What? It was contagious. At least, she was pretty sure she'd heard laughter labeled that way before and to her no one's laugh sounded as good as Oscar's did. "You have any other ones, master-joke-teller," she teased, but she was smiling now. Sure, he beat her and told a better joke, but it wasn't anything to be upset over. "Hey! You two need to quiet down!" Anna jumped at the nearby voice and turned to see the librarian standing there, glaring at the pair. Oops. She didn't even realize how loud they were getting in the corner. In fact, Anna forgot they were in the library too. She covered her mouth to stifle her laughter and then turned to Oscar, her eyes shining with mirth. She loved spending lighthearted moments with him.

Oscar tapped his chin when Anna asked him if he had any other jokes. It was true that the pasta joke was the only thing that he had memorized in English, but he had to be capable of thinking of at least something else that was funny. Oscar wasn’t able to finish thinking of his brand-new joke, because the librarian had found the pair of them, and apparently decided that they were too loud to be in the library. That was probably true, Oscar decided, but he felt bad, because he didn’t intend to stop telling jokes and laughing anytime soon. Oscar gestured for Anna to begin to gather her things – he liked telling jokes with her, and while he felt bad about interrupting her studies… she hadn’t actually been studying much in the first place. As they made their way out of the library, Oscar continued to ruminate over his next big joke. It had to be a good one, to follow up im-pasta, he knew that much. Finally, an idea sprang into Oscar’s head. “What do you call a group of disorganized felines?” Oscar asked as they reached the library’s entrance.

Oscar was obviously trying to think of another joke to tell her, until the librarian came and ushered them out. Anna grabbed all her books and things and stuffed them into her bag, focusing her attention on Oscar as much as she could. Was he still planning on telling her more jokes, or did the librarian's arrival ruin the moment? Anna couldn't tell, partly because of the silence between them as they left the library. Then again, that definitely could be because the librarian followed them out to make sure they were quiet. However, he spoke right as they moved to leave the library, starting another joke. Anna thought for a moment and then an idea occurred to her. She turned to Oscar and shrugged hesitantly, "A Cat-astrophe?" Anna obviously wasn't very certain about her answer, but she was interested to hear the answer. At least she gave this one a try though.

Once the pair had meandered out of the library, Oscar couldn’t help but feel weird – he liked when he and Anna were doing something, because that was when they had the best sort of conversations. Just sitting and talking together was fine, but it was so much easier to talk when there was something else to distract him other than how beautiful Anna was. He understood how she felt when he had correctly guessed the answer to the cookie question, because his stomach plummeted when Anna correctly guessed the answer to his feline question – a cat-astrophe. Oscar scrunched his nose up at Anna, but nodded. “I thought you said you were not good at jokes.” He teased, bumping his shoulder against hers lightly as they continued to walk down the corridor and away from the library, where their laughter was a distraction instead of a boon. “I should think of some more later.” Oscar said, setting himself a task for the rest of the day – or maybe the rest of the week. Anything to avoid homework.

She got it right! Anna knew she did before Oscar admitted it, by the look on his face. Well that was a first. She wasn't very good at delivering jokes or figuring them out, but was proud of herself for doing it once. He teased her and Anna laughed, bumping his shoulder back. "I'm not good at jokes. That doesn't mean I can't get one right every once in a while," she giggled. She wasn't really sure where they were going, but she didn't care. She was done doing homework for the day and really just wanted to spend the rest of it with her boyfriend. She laughed again when he said he'd think of more later. "I'm excited to hear them," she answered. After a few seconds she came up with an idea. "Hey, let's head down to the kitchens and grab a snack. I'm starving," Anna started pulling him before she was even done with the sentence, excited at the idea of more food. ---the end--- @oscar
