Rosie began to feel a bit stupid for feeling so nervous. She wanted to relax. She knew that if Brandon didn't want to be here with her than he wouldn't be with her now, so why was she so worried and hesitant? Everything was fine. She needed to brush the worry to the back of her mind and just enjoy her first date before it was over and she realized that she spent the whole night worrying rather than being truly in the moment. "You're right, I'm sorry. I'm good." she insisted and nodded when he put his arm around her and asked if it was okay, she snuggled into it a bit, making it feel natural. She didn't want this date to be all about her comfort level, she was comfortable with him, she didn't want him to think he had to walk of egg shells to make her comfortable or anything. "Why not?" she asked. "Where do you spend all of your time then?" not in the study room, not in the lounge, she was curious.

Rosie started to apologize and Brandon wanted to tell her not to apologize, but it looked like she was finally starting to relax with him and he didn't want to do anything to mess that up. He didn't see her nod at his wisdom, but when she snuggled into him, Brandon's heart rate sped up. He tightened his grip on his shoulders. His mental excuse to himself was that he wanted to make sure she felt safe, but what Brandon really wanted was to hold her closer. She asked why Brandon didn't spend more time in this room and he chuckled. "I missed Hogwarts. I didn't come back to spend all my time here in a shop, I'd rather spend it with my friends." He paused for a moment before adding, "And you." The words felt final in his head and Brandon knew he was admitting something he wouldn't be able to take back, but he didn't care. He wanted to make sure Rosie knew how he felt for her. He took a deep breath and focused on her next question. "In the castle, mostly. I like to spend time with my friends, but I also do a lot in the room of requirement playing music." Yeah, he didn't believe that would be much of a surprise to her. rose harriet granger-weasley

He tightened his grip around her shoulders and Rosie's heart began to race and felt somewhat like an intense drum being beat in her chest cavity. She had never experienced these feelings before, she had been kissed, once, but she had decided it didn't count since she was also being tortured by the woman while she kissed her. Rosie quickly shook those flashbacks out of her head and focused on the adorable man sitting next to her. He said that he spent a lot of time in the castle because of how much he missed it, and his friends, and her. The beating of her heart in her chest kept the same intensity but got quicker, he had singled her out, which she supposed he was supposed to do on a date anyway, but she liked it, it made her feel special. "Am I not your friend?" she asked in a playful manner, of course she knew what he meant, she was just making a little joke, making light a little. But then she nodded in agreement. "Hogwarts surly missed you, there's no doubt about that one." she admitted. "Everyone did. I know I did." she knew she had already told him all this when they met in the coffee shop not long ago, but it was true. She looked to him, found herself making eye contact and gave a soft smile through pink cheeks. He was very handsome and it was making her feel a little flustered.

She was teasing when she asked if she was his friend, but Brandon still wanted to be clear with her. This was Rosie's first date and he wanted to show her that he was interested. This wasn't a passing fancy, he wanted to pursue something with her. He shook his head and smiled at her more. "I kept you separate from my friends because I'm hoping that you and I can be more than friends," he said softly, watching her carefully. He didn't want to freak her out. Then she was talking about how everyone missed him, her included. "Did you miss me enough that you'll consider going on another date with me?" He jumped when he heard someone walking on the deck of the ship. Darn, they were faster than he planned. He'd better hurry to get her out of here before lots of people came. He didn't want to make Rosie uncomfortable. "So you want to leave now? We can go on a walk or I can take you back ... Whatever you want." Brandon just wanted to make sure she enjoyed her first date. That was his priority. rose harriet granger-weasley

Rosie blushed, he wanted to be more than friends. She had never heard those words before, let along directed towards her. "I would really like that." she admitted with a rather large smile. He then went on to ask if she missed him enough to want to go on another date and she wanted to scream, she had never felt this intense, overwhelming feeling in her chest, she felt like she might explode, the butterflies were swarming in her stomach but she attempted to remain cool and collected on the outside, though she was sure her face was red. "Yeah that'd be great... Anytime." she nodded in agreement. There were footsteps and Brandon jumped, he decided it was time to go and Rosie began to wonder if maybe she wasn't supposed to be on the boat after all, however, she agreed. "Sure, let's go for a little walk that maybe ends at the castle." she decided, mixing the two things that he had suggested together. She stood up with him and allowed him to lead her out of the ship and back out onto the deck.

She would really like that. Brandon froze for a little bit as he thought about what she just said. She wanted to be more than friends too. That was perfect. His cheeks were starting to hurt a little from smiling so much but he couldn't help it. Rosie made him as happy as his music did, which meant smiling was inevitable. Brandon waited a little bit nervously for Rosie's answer to his question. He wanted to go on another date with her, obviously, but he wouldn't push it on her. He looked down at her and then she said that she would like it and he grinned, squeezing her shoulders a little. "Good. We can figure out when later, let's just enjoy the moment," he answered. It was strange. He was loving spending his time with her, and didn't want to stop just because they were talking about their next date. So he let it go for now. Rosie agreed to go on a walk with him up to the castle and Brandon stood up, offering his hand to help her up. "Then let's get out of here," he told her with a grin, not releasing her hand as they left the ship. "So what do you want to talk about?" Brandon asked as they walked. rose harriet granger-weasley

Rosie couldn't wait to send an owl to her mother. She knew that was weird to think about on a date, but she and her mother were so close and she couldn't wait to tell her about this, about how sweet Brandon had been and how happy she felt to know that he liked her and he wanted to see her again. It was perfect, like a fairy-tale. And while she knew her friends would appreciate hearing all about it when she got back to the common room, she knew her mother would he overjoyed finding out that her only daughter had gone on her very first date, especially in the wake of her incident. The two walked hand in hand off of the ship and began the journey to the castle. He asked her what she wanted to talk about and she shrugged. "I don't know... it's such a nice night." she noted, it was just about sunset and the light was perfect, it was still a bit warm and the crickets and frogs were chirping all around. "I'm still very impressed by the whole thing. It was really sweet." the Hufflepuff insisted.

Brandon loved the feeling of holding Rosie's hand in his own. He was a little surprised by how strong these feelings seemed to come, but if this date was showing him anything, it was that he really cared for Rosie. More than he thought he would, so early on in the relationship. Wait. Was it even a relationship yet? Brandon wasn't really sure, but he wanted to kiss Rosie. Not snog her like he did with Adonia at the carnival, but he wanted to show her how he felt. He didn't know if he should, though. This was her first date and she might not want him to kiss her. He smiled and chuckled when she mentioned that it was a nice night. He squeezed her hand and stopped walking for a moment. "Well, maybe we should take a little bit of time to appreciate the view," he suggested, gesturing to the grounds around them, but focusing entirely on her. He couldn't seem to pull his eyes away and hoped he wasn't freaking her out. "I'm glad you liked it," he muttered softly, still smiling down at her as he tried to decide whether or not he should kiss her. rose harriet granger-weasley

Rosie couldn't remember a time when she felt so safe. For the past couple of days, she hadn't left Thalia or Juliet or Jamie's side. And they were happy to keep her, they even offered to walk her up to the entrance hall for her date and then wait and walk her back to the common room to make sure that she was never alone, but she had insisted that she would be okay and needed to be able to walk down the hall and up a flight on stairs on her own. It was good for her to be on her own. She needed to get used to walking around alone again. Well, maybe we should take a little bit of time to appreciate the view. He tuned and gestured to the sunset. She turned also and took a look at the sun setting over the water. It was beautiful. It was perfect and lovely and amazing. She turned to look at him and saw that he was still looking at her rather than the sunset, and she felt her face blush even more. Perhaps it was stuck in a perpetual blush. She didn't speak, but she did look away for a second to take a quick breath and then looked back at him. "What?" she asked, brushing some of her hair back behind her ear and she gave a smile before she bit her lip.

Brandon was so glad that Rosie didn't mind stopping. Really, he knew that the date ending wasn't that big of a deal. He would see her tomorrow at one of the meals, surely, and they would be having another date sometime, but he couldn't help but want to be with her. He wasn't ready for their date to end. When she turned to look at the sunset, the small smile on her face was entrancing. When she looked back at him she blushed and he knew he should look away, but he just couldn't. He didn't want to and even if he did ... he'd just turn back to look at her again. She looked away for a second and then back, asking what. Brandon noticed her touching her hair and biting her lip and suddenly remembered Adonia's "lesson". If Adonia was right, that meant Rosie wanted him to kiss her. Brandon smiled, reaching up to touch her chin gently. "You're beautiful Rosie," he said softly before leaning down and giving her a gentle kiss. He let his lips linger against hers a moment before pulling away. "Thank you for agreeing to go out with me," he said softly, letting his hand fall from her chin now. rose harriet granger-weasley

'You're beautiful Rosie,' Rosie saw him leaning closer to her and he reached up to touch her chin. She felt like her heart had stopped beating, or maybe, it was beating so quickly that she just couldn't feel it. The butterflies in her stomach seemed to multiply by the thousands and she felt her eyes close. Had she closed them? Was it an involuntary reaction? He pressed his lips gently against hers and something that maybe resembled lightning felt like it coursed through her veins. Her first date. Her first kiss. She was overwhelmed, but in the best way. She kissed him back and when he pulled away, she almost didn't want him to. He then thanked her for agreeing to go out with him, she knew she was so overwhelmed and flustered that she had to physically stop herself from starting to ramble and go on one of her nervous little speeches. She hated that she talked and stuttered when she got nervous. It was so obvious. "Thank you for asking me." she said simply. She just looked at him for a minute before speaking again. "I should probably get back... it's getting late." she admitted.

She kissed him back. That was the one thing that Brandon actually realized when he pulled away from her. She returned his kiss, which meant she didn't mind it, maybe even that she wanted it to happen. She was looking at him as she thanked him and Brandon couldn't help but smile at the girl. "You're welcome," he said. Then she mentioned wanting to get back and Brandon jumped a little bit. Right! It was late and she wanted to go back. Of course. He just ... he got so distracted by her that he forgot he was walking her back. "Right, sorry. Let's go," he told her as he took her hand once more. He lead her up to the castle and walked inside with her. Why not accompany her all the way back to the common room? He knew where it was and it wasn't too close to curfew yet. He couldn't think of anything else to say as they walked, so he squeezed her hand gently. "Here we are. Have a good night Rosie," he told her, this time bending down to kiss her cheek. "See you tomorrow." He turned and walked away, not really knowing what else to do. rose harriet granger-weasley (you end!)

Rosie's heart rate began to mellow back down as they walked into the castle. She half expected him to leave her in the entrance hall but she then remembered that Brandon was the one who insisted that she not be alone, of course he was going to walk her all the way to the common room. It was unfortunate that he was no longer able to come inside. The Hufflepuff commons really were her home. He leaned down to kiss her when they got to the entrance and she smiled when he did so, loving the feeling of his lips on her skin. It was a sweet, simple gesture but definitely meant a lot, at least to her. "Good night Brandon." she smiled sweetly. She watched him turn and walk away before ducking into the common room herself, eager to find her friends.
