The school year had ended...abruptly? Tragically? So quickly that Adena was still suffering from whiplash from its sudden stop? In short, it hadn't been good. Being sent home so soon after the devastating explosions of both the Beauxbatons and Durmstrang vessels had sent Dena into a kind of stoic shock. Everything from that point on seemed to be done by another person, with Adena watching her own body function through a foggy window. The graduation feast passed in a blur. Had anyone even spoken to her? He had just sat silently, refusing to eat, her stomach curling at the thought of putting food in her mouth. And the feeling seemed to resonate throughout the Great Hall. The house elves would be mightily disappointed when their hard-cooked meal came back half-eaten. As a self-proclaimed fatty, Adena would have been ashamed to turn food away if she hadn't been so dead to the world. The trip on the Hogwarts Express wasn't much better. Again, Dena was quiet, sitting solemnly with her friends in their compartment. Someone, Madeline, maybe, tried to bring up the explosions out of morbid curiosity, but Adena silenced that conversation with one stony look. The rest of the trip was spent in silence. Even when the trolley maid came by with her cart of goods, Adena couldn't make herself eat. Her stomach rumbled weakly, apologizing for missing out on the end-of-year feast, but Adena couldn't even raise her hand to ask for a pumpkin pasty. She just leaned against the window and watched the world fly by. How could someone have done this? she wondered, not even sure if she was speaking the thought aloud. She could picture the students in her mind, all excited to be home and maybe a little dejected that they weren't bringing home the Triwizard Cup. Maybe they were planning their lives after their near graduation. Only to have it all snatched away before they could utter a word. Adena shuddered, suddenly longing for her siblings. They would be waiting for her at King's Cross Station, she knew. Suddenly, she wanted nothing more than to fall into Callisto's arms or laugh at one of Mina's jokes or just smile at Sarah. Anything was better than the feeling of utter dread that was bubbling away inside her. As the train pulled into the station, Dena gathered her belongings and exited, waving a silent goodbye to her friends. She would see them again in the fall. She hoped. She made her way through the crowd, looking for her sisters. They had to be here somewhere, waiting for her. They just had to be. sarah jane oliveira @callisto mina pandora oliveira

Callisto was trying to make everyone behave like a family. That's what their older brother used to do and now it seemed the burden had fallen to her. Lord knew her older sister, Sarah, wouldn't do it. And Mina was Mina. There was no way Callisto was letting Adena arrive at the station with no one there for her, though, since their parents were out of town. Callisto contacted Sarah, and somehow was 'forced' to exchange a night of babysitting for Sarah to come. As if she even needed to force her. Mina was happy to go, of course, she loved Adena. They all did. Adena was the baby. Not just the baby, but she was one of them in every way. She was an Oliveira. Callisto had to call Minas name more than a few times to get her to move her butt before the two could head out the door. Sarah was going to meet them at the station. Callisto rushed forward, not wanting to be late even though they were going to be ten minutes early. She wanted it to be thirty minutes but Mina. "Mina, hurry up. Dena needs us there right when she gets off the train," Callisto demanded, hurriedly moving through Kings Cross. The truth was, she wanted to come get Adena right after the explosions happened. But, for some stupid reason, Adena was coming home on the train with everyone else. Wasn't that just as dangerous for her as it was for those kids on the boat and carriage? Callisto didn't like it. Finally, they were there, and when the train slowed Callisto lifted onto her toes a little to try and see her baby sister. mina pandora oliveirasarah jane oliveira@adena

This was like a field trip! She should have known better than to think that way, considering the circumstances in which the Hogwarts students were returning early, but it was still fun to get off work in order to go to King’s Cross. She hadn’t exactly been in the country at the start of the fall term to see Adena off, nor had she been there for the return the prior spring either. Her travels had her running all across North America. In fact, the only time she had actually seen Adena in the last two years was during Christmas this past year. And even then, Mina had barely been around because the bookstore was legit crazy during the holidays. So it really was a field trip, going to a place she hadn’t been in so long, and seeing a sibling that was probably insanely different than what she remembered her as.
The only reason they were even close to running late to the station was because she had wanted to give the dog one last walk, in case they went and got themselves blown up too, kind of like what happened at the end of the previous spring term. Apparently nowhere was safe these days. Personally she thought that was a load of bull, and getting worried would only help the terrorists even more than the killings and explosions. Fear was what the thrived off right? Then giving them what they wanted was stupid. Her way to fix that was to drink. Somehow Callisto had talked her down from doing that last night, so Mina wasn’t the happiest person in the world this morning, but it was certainly better than being extremely hung over and trying to push herself through this crowd. Callisto did some things right sometimes, she supposed.
“It won’t kill her to wait like, ten seconds you know,” she yelled back, trying to make herself heard over the crowd. There was about a one-hundred percent chance Callisto didn’t hear that, and if she did, she ignored it. The train was basically here already, and finding someone in this mess would take a bit of time anyways. Plus Sarah was probably wandering around up ahead looking as well. Knowing her, she would find Adena first and then make a comment about it when they finally met up.

Ugh. If today couldn't have been more boring. Callisto had insisted that they all be present to pick up the youngest sibling from the train. All because their parents wer busy. Fine. Callisto could do that alone, she didn't need to drag Sarah and Mina along too. To be fair, Mina was as Obedient as a broken dog, and would probably drink herself into a coma without supervision. But Sarah was the oldest sister, why did Callisto need to drag her along? But hey, it meant Callisto would take Sebastian a few extra nights so, why not.
Yawning and wandering the platform she wasn't really in any hurry to find her sisters, but as the train began to pull up she st last spotted Mina and slid up beside her. Sarah had always been terrifyingly sneaky as a child and her every silence had only intensified as she got older. "I don't know, the ship and carriage might have thought the same thing. Look what happened to them." she answered, having just arrived in time to hear her sister's words.

Adena wandered through the crowds, feeling lost and alone. She watched as, one by one, her classmates met up with parents, siblings, friends. She stood as tall as her small stature would allow, trying to see over the mass of heads for the familiar dark hair of her sisters. Had they all come? Had even one of them come? They had lives, of course, but, in that moment, Adena wanted nothing more than to embrace her siblings and never let go. Even if they were all messes, they were a family, and Adena needed her family. As she carefully tread through the sea of people, Adena finally recognized a familiar face. "Callisto!" she called, waving furiously. Next to her was Mina and beside her, looking sulky as ever, was Sarah. The oldest Oliveira's young son was nowhere to be seen, but that was okay. Her sister had come to meet her. That was all that mattered. Dragging her luggage as quickly as possible behind her, Adena charged toward her sisters, throwing her arms around Callisto and almost tackling her to the ground. Her silent shock was long forgotten. "You came! You all came!" she said excitedly. She finally released Callisto and took turns hugging Mina and Sarah respectively. "I missed you all so much," she said breathily, trying to contain her joy. sarah jane oliveira @callisto mina pandora oliveira

Callisto waved off Minas words about how Dena could wait. She couldn't wait, not in Callistos eyes. She didn't hear Sarah back there with Mina as she was too busy looking for Den. Finally, she head her name and she felt a wave of relief rush through her as her eyes found her. She waved back, not as vigorously, and moved to close the distance between them, noticing Sarah had found them too. When Adena reached her, Callisto was ready and willing to take that hug at full force. She squeezed her sister and released her, reluctantly, allowing her to hug the other two. "We're happy to see you," she said, speaking for all of them and reaching for Adenas cart. "We were thinking we should all go out," she said, nodding toward Mina and Sarah who would be choosing the place most likely, with Callistos supervision... @adena sarah jane oliveiramina pandora oliveira

Mina shivered as she heard Sarah’s voice before actually seeing her. She hated when she did that. Always trying to be sneaky and to get under everyone’s skin. To add to it, it had to be about the explosions. Mina hadn’t meant her comment in that manner, but that was Sarah, taking everything to the extreme. “Did you pawn your child off to your baby daddy again?” Mina asked, noting that she didn’t see Sebastian anywhere. It probably would have been a pain to bring him along, and the constant threat of whatever it was that was out there didn’t help. She didn’t think Sarah was that kind of mother though; having the forethought to put her child in a place where he wouldn’t be harmed would constitute a complete lifestyle change on her part. Like hell that was ever going to happen.
She didn’t stick around Sarah too much to hear a response, instead opting to move quickly through the crowd to where Callisto had seemingly found Adena. Mina waited her turn for hugs, and attempted to hold on longer than Callisto had. “Look! She’s here in one piece. Just like I said she would be. And maybe got a little taller at that,” Mina shot a look at Cal, still unsure if she had even heard the previous comment. All she had going for her was her job at the bookstore. Maybe if she had special powers, like mind-reading, she would be better at understanding if she was actively being ignored or simply wasn’t heard. Typically she opted for the former, since it seemed to be the easier route in their household. “It’ll have to be a sit-down, since one of us can’t get into half of the places I have in mind,” Mina compromised, patting Adena on the head as she was bust hugging Sarah. She wouldn’t hear the end of that, she was sure. Sit-downs still had beer though, and probably significantly cheaper too. While Sarah and Cal would laugh at her, she was actually thinking with her head for once.

The raven haired sister couldn't help but smirk at Mina's shiver. There was always a twisted and sick sense of satisfaction when she managed to startle her sisters. Though the comment about her 'baby daddy' wiped that smirk off her face. "I didn't think you cared so much about him. Or are you looking for one of your own?" Considering Mina's drunken antics, it would't surprise Sarah if Mina ended up knocked up at some point.
Sarah 'hmph'ed as the younget Oliveira, energetic as always, came bounding off that training and was waving like a madwoman. No one had ever called the Oliveira family sane, that was for sure. But, playing nice for Callisto's sake (because she didn't feel like dealing with the consequences of acting like a total bitch at the moment.) she offered a half hearted smile and an equally half hearted hug in return. "Don't act so surprised." Was all she had to say, feigning interesting in this situation.
Covering a yawn, she shrugged at Callisto's suggestion of food. "Whatever you three would like, it doesn't matter to me." She answered, not caring. It only meant that she hopefully had another hour or two before she needed to go pick up Sebastina.

Adena looked around at all of her sisters, a great big smile on her face. She was a little sad that Dakoda wasn't there with them, but she understood. She was just happy to have most of her siblings with her in such a troubling time. She looked over at Sarah, her smile fading into a disapproving frown. "You could at least pretend to be happy to see me," she said, a little hurt by her eldest sister's obvious apathy. Sarah had always been a bit of a sourpuss in Adena's eyes, but she had hoped the older woman would be happy that her baby sister hadn't been blown up with the dozens of other students who had lost their lives. She couldn't say she was surprised though. Turning her attention back to Callisto and Mina, she perked back up. As Mina patted her on the head, she snapped her teeth at Mina's hand, pretending to try to bite her. "Food sounds great. I'm starving," she said eagerly. It was hard to imagine that just moments ago, she had been refusing to eat and the thought of food made her sick. Now, her stomach roared to life, calling out to the world its displeasure at being so empty. The choices of restaurants flooded through Adena's mind, but she was too hungry to decide on one place. She wanted to sample something from all of them. She looked up at Mina and chuckled. She knew her older sister was a lover of the drink, so she finally settled on a place that would be loved by all. "What about the Leaky Cauldron?" she asked, turning to Callisto for approval. She had always relied on Callisto to make important decisions, and now was no different. God, it was good to be home. sarah jane oliveira @callisto mina pandora oliveira

The thought of Mina having a baby, as Sarah implied, made Callisto sick to her stomach, but she didn't comment on it. Of course Mina would want to go somewhere more exotic than Adena was allowed in and Callisto rolled her eyes at her pouting about it. Thankfully, Adena suggested the Leaky Cauldron. "That sounds great. We can just ask them to hold onto your stuff while we eat, they won't mind," she said, starting to lead the way. She turned to Sarah, "where is Seb, anyway?" she asked, trying to sound casual and not at all like she was afraid Sarah had left her baby somewhere random so she could come here without him. Sarah was a somewhat responsible mother, at least when it came to leaving Seb with trustworthy people.
"The Leaky might be crowded with all the reuniting families, so let's try to get there quickly," she suggested, picking up her pace, waving her three sisters to follow her. She tried to stay close to Adena, though, because she was entirely not happy about the danger she had been put in at that school and was not letting her out of her sight.

The thought of having a child of her own at this point in time in her life was…distasteful. Mina didn’t want to know how Sarah managed it, because she certainly wasn’t parent material. Everyone seemed to be able to see that. Hell, even she did. That was why she was always asking Cal to watch Sebastian. “No thanks. I’m fine with my dog,” Mina responded, glancing at Callisto to show that was all she was ever going to be taking care of while in their apartment, or hopefully ever. No children for her in the foreseeable future. That would literally prevent her from doing anything fun. And no drinking or smoking while pregnant. She couldn’t do that. The thought of it alone sent another shiver through her. Drastic lifestyle changes were not her thing at all.
Mina laughed as she pulled her hand away from Adena’s chomping teeth. “Easy there. I need those for turning book pages.” That was important to her job. She took at least that seriously. “Oh and surprise Sarah. I can read,” she added sarcastically before the oldest one could say anything herself. If it was going to be said regardless, Mina preferred to do it to herself. It was easier that way. She nodded her head at the choice of the Leaky Cauldron, mostly because that would be an easy way to escape at the end of the day and go get a couple drinks if the other three decided to go into Diagon Alley. A drink or two wouldn’t hinder her ability to function at all, and if anything it would make dealing with Sarah more tolerable. Callisto said they should get there quickly, and Mina picked her pace up as well, looping her arm through Adena’s. “So, any awesome stuff this term? Or same old boring Hogwarts?” Mina was going to take her time talking to her younger sister while the other two would probably start bickering about Sebastian. That was how it always went.
