THE FIRST THING THAT ONDINA BECAME AWARE of was the startlingly soft sheets she was swathed in. The second thing was the oppressive heat radiating from her left side. She peeled open her eyes one at a time, already annoyed, as she often was in the morning to be reminded that she was not at home in her comforting bedroom. And his room was not quite so dark as it had been the night before. Ondina's own bedroom was always dark, hanging blackout curtains and blinds, as she had little tolerance for blinding natural light while she rested. Apparently Aerick disagreed.
Rolling out of the large, marshmallow bed, Ondina rubbed at her eyes only to come away with black tipped fingers. She doubted her face had upheld through the night, and dreaded her own appearance as she looked around the room, surreptitiously checking on Aerick to ensure that he slept on. Perhaps she could slip out before he awoke. The fun had been had and Ondina wasn't the type to make instant attachments. Although she'd have to find the remnants of her clothes first. In desperation, Ondina grabbed a crumpled top sheet from the foot of the bed, wrapping it like a cape around her as she fled the bedroom.
Aerick's flat was just as lush in the daylight as it had been the night before. Far too lavish for a man on a bartenders budget. She suddenly wondered if he came from money, her curiosity rising as she gathered up her clothing from the living room down below the raised living quarters. It wasn't a particularly large flat, but it had a certain style to it that oozed wealth and Ondina admired it as she went in search for a bathroom. She found one rather easily, it wasn't a complicated layout.
In the mirror Ondina was faced by a restless nights worth of make up. Her foundation all but gone, leaving behind a pale and freckled face with bloodshot eyes. Her eyelashes knotted by lingering clumps of mascara and her lipstick was entirely gone. She rubbed at the permanent dark circles under her eyes before she bent her head in disgust. Rifling around in her little handbag, Ondina always had the essentials on hand. Concealer, lipstick and a smoothing solution she'd had specially made for her sensitive complexion. She applied it after scrubbing at her face with cold water. Nothing too extensive, just some concealer and smoothing solution to leave her looking somewhat lively. She left the lipstick for later.
Disgusted by the idea of wearing the same clothes as the night before, Ondina was pleased to find some workout attire folded neatly in the bathroom. It smelled fresh so she pulled it on, the jogging bottoms loose but acceptable once she rolled the waist and ankles up. The t-shirt was something of a disaster, but she found she liked how it swam around her shoulders once she'd knotted the hem around her waist. She did not wonder how Aerick would feel to find her in his clothing, because she did not care to stop and think about his feelings at all.
Ondina left the bathroom feeling somewhat human but deathly thirsty, she padded through his home to raid his fridge before she decided whether or not to leave. Perhaps a part of her wanted Aerick to find her, like an unwelcome pest. She thrived on making other people uncomfortable, putting them out for her own benefit. That probably had something to do with how touchy her siblings could be, but who was to know.

Aerick woke up the next morning a bit later than he usually did; albeit for a good reason. He did not get that much sleep the night before, between the drinking and the...escapades he and Ondina had engaged in. He rubbed the sleep away from his eyes before glancing over at the empty space next to him. Reaching out a hand, the sheets still felt warm, and the indentation where Ondina had lain was still visible to the naked eye, so she must have just gotten up. Aerick was not the type to engage in morning rituals with a girl he brought home for fun, but he figured he should at least have the common decency to get her some water before sending her on their way. If his own head was throbbing, he couldn’t imagine what the petite young woman was feeling. He stretched, yawning lazily; he had splurged on this particular bed after a successful mission given to him by Elaine, who had rewarded him quite handsomely. Pulling long shifts at Club Indigo had proven that a comfortable, very large bed was exactly what he needed to come home to. Aerick pulled on a pair of soccer shorts and his robe before padding out to the living space down a small set of stairs. He had chosen the loft style apartment because it offered a separate, but open, type of living space he had been angling for. A flash of red hair caught his eye; it appeared that Ondina was still here. Smirking slightly, he ran a hand through his unkempt hair, and stifled a yawn. She was in his open galley style kitchen, raiding the fridge. “You won’t find much in the way of food unfortunately, but bottled waters in the drawer on the bottom left,” he drawled, coming down the last of the steps. He brushed past her and opened the drawer, tossing a bottle to her before taking one for himself. Unscrewing the cap, he slugged back about half the bottle before coming up for air. “Sleep alright?” he asked, a crooked little smirk playing at his lips. Ondina Nell Weasley

THE BARREN EXPANSE OF SHELVES IN THE FRIDGE made Ondina's stomach growl instinctively. He truly lived off of booze and good charm, apparently. That probably explained his impeccable physique, of which she'd admired at great length the night before. Her hand had just wrapped around a plastic bottle of water when she heard the scuffing of feet behind her, followed by a lazy, sleep addled voice.
Turning, Ondina held the bottle loose at her side as she eyed him carefully, her mouth parted slightly. "Oh!" She yelped, though she wasn't at all shocked, but a little pleased that she'd been discovered before boredom had hit. She watched him slide past her smoothly and grab a bottle for himself, though she didn't move to accommodate him purposefully. "Yeah, you're looking a little bare..." She replied, and while it was in reference to the fridge she still let her eyes skim over his exposed torso, robe open and shorts hanging low on his hips. "Not that I mind much."
Cracking the plastic seal on her own bottle, she unscrewed the top and took a much needed drink - her mouth dry from the booze and the expensive air circulation in the large penthouse. "Mm, it was adequate," She said vaguely, holding the bottle to her chest as she lifted her brows and leaned against the counter beside the fridge. "You sure live luxuriously for a bartender," She commented, her eyes looking at at the sleek interior design, the large windows looking out at a foggy London horizon. She turned back to him after a moment, head tilted curiously. "What's your secret?"

Aerick watched unflinchingly as she yelped; he could tell she really wasn’t surprised. It was his home after all, what else would she expect him to do when he woke and found she wasn’t there? “See you’ve found some clothes, though they’re a tad big on you,” he commented, nodding towards his clothing which she donned. He smirked. “Not that I mind much,” he tossed back. He wondered if this was a game she played with all her conquests; well, she would meet her match in Aerick Adler. This certainly wasn’t his first rodeo, though she was admittedly a bit younger than the girls he normally brought home. He opened the bottle of water and drank deeply, grateful for the refreshing liquid pouring down his throat. Aerick raised his brow as she deemed his bed adequate. He had not paid an eye-popping amount for adequate, though he supposed she wouldn’t exactly be the type of girl to TELL him what he wanted to hear. The next question however, didn’t surprise him at all. Most girls who hook up with their bartenders tended to think they lived in studio hovels in East London, not a penthouse loft in Kensington. “That is the question, isn’t it?” he commented, not actually answering her. He took another swig, adjourning the open kitchen space to the living room, where he flopped down on the L-shaped leather couch. “It could be a number of things,” he continued slowly, craning his neck to look back at her. “My wealthy parents could have died and left me an enormous fortune. I could be a silent partner at Club Indigo nobody knows about, or made it rich at Gamblin Galleons. Perhaps I even had a lucrative job before deciding to quiet and experience true self-awareness at a bar.” Aerick stood back up and walked back over to Ondina, slowly, deliberately. “Or perhaps I have a side job nobody knows about. A job where someone pays me big money to silence people in a permanent manner.” He stopped, his frame inches from hers. “Which option do you want to go with?” he asked, his voice barely above a whisper. LOOKING DOWN AT HER PILFERED OUTFIT ONDINA shrugged her shoulders, tugging at the knot she'd made at the front of his shirt. "I think they fit just fine." She batted her lashes at him once as she looked back at him, a small smirk hiking up one side of her mouth. In her experience, men liked seeing women in their clothes. She tended to employ the tactic when she wanted something more, though this time it had been purely for her survival.
What interested Ondina more was the flat itself. In the light of day, the expense of it was glaringly obvious. Ondina respected a side hustle, but her curiosity was heightened. She narrowed her eyes at him, a probing smile on her face as she watched him stroll towards the modern sofa and drape himself over it lazily. She hung back, unscrewing the cap from a water bottle and sipping it quietly as she mulled over how to crack him open.
He didn't answer her as openly as she'd hoped, but that didn't really surprise her. The bottle in her hand, the smirk lingering on her face as he rolled over each mundane answer as if one might catch. He was playing with her and her eyes turned to slits on instinct, lips pressed together as she watched him stand and approach her once again. Was he trying to intimidate her? If so, he'd failed.
"Oh, multiple choice," She sang, lifting her brows as she screwed the cap back her water and hummed under her breath thoughtfully, closing the minuscule space between them so that she could feel when he breathed. "I know which one sounds the most fun." She said, a flash of her teeth between a growing smile, tongue pressed behind her front teeth. She didn't know for sure which was true, but she lingered over the last. Generally, when a person said something like that they were either being brutally honest, or trying to be funny. Aerick didn't strike her as the funny type.
"So..." Ondina lifted a hand and ran her nails up Aerick's bare chest, pouting out her bottom lip as she looked up at him. "Did you bring me here to off me?" Her pout turned in to a dangerous grin as she stood on her tip-toes, hand flat on his chest, as she whispered back at him, eyes wide as she challenged him. "How much am I worth?"

Aerick chuckled darkly as Ondina pressed her hand against his chest. “Sweetheart, if I had brought you here to off you, you wouldn’t have woken up this morning,” he said bluntly, his eyes not leaving hers. Aerick was not like some of the other Purifiers, who liked to play with their food. When a job needed to be done, he did it, that was that. Sometimes it required him transforming into his python form, but typically when they saw a massive snake in front of them, he was able to get exactly what he wanted. He had a feeling Ondina would get a kick out of his Animagus form, but some secrets were his to keep. Elaine valued the secret weapon, as she called it, and he didn’t think she would appreciate her sharing his secret with his current one night stand. Groaning slightly, he took a step back, spreading his available arm towards the expanse of his apartment. “My father recently passed, and let’s just say his will was more than generous. This apartment was quite a bit more sparse before his untimely demise,” he said casually. He had of course been able to upgrade a few things since he completed his father's murder; the soft bed, couch and the eighty inch plasma screen had been acquired thanks to Elaine’s generous funds. “Sometimes it pays when family dies,” he said simply, shrugging one shoulder before striding towards the bathroom. “Feel free to join me if you want,” he called, a devilish grin playing at his lips before he disappeared into the bathroom. The feeling of nothingness was still edging, like the verge of a blackout, on his mind, but the hot water and steam from the powerful jets did a lot to soothe Aerick’s mind. He didn’t know if Ondina would still be there when he got out, and frankly, he didn’t care. As long as she didn’t nick anything on her way out; then he’d have to punish her. Ondina Nell Weasley

ONDINA SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN IMPRESSED BY his timely retort, but she was. She admired his wit, even if it did seem a little exaggerated. "In my sleep?" She said, tutting as she leaned back to smirk up at him. "Are you afraid I'd win if I was awake?" Though his impressive form told her she wouldn't win in hand-to-hand combat, Ondina was very good at nonverbal spells. She could attack an opponent without even giving them a chance to counter correctly. And maybe she enjoyed the idea of sparring with him.
Ondina let her eyes run across the room again as she thought about how much a will could bring in. It was an impressive space, and tastefully decorated, too. She'd always wanted something of her own, but her liability for illness meant she was often afraid to sleep alone. There had been times in the past when she'd woken up blue in the face, her throat closing and body boiling. But she thought, had she the choice, she'd like a place like this. The view along was worth it. "Hm," She hummed, tongue in cheek as she looked back at him with a slight smirk. "Maybe I'll have to hire you after all."
She watched him saunter out of the room and in to his bathroom with a new appreciation. For a second she considered slipping away, leaving him wanting, but she was even more intrigued now. He wasn't just a pretty face and the things he was eluding to interested her. She wondered how Elaine might utilise a face like this and, after very little deliberation, she followed him, shedding her pilfered outfit as she went.
