i dare you.
THE FIRST THING THAT ONDINA BECAME AWARE of was the startlingly soft sheets she was swathed in. The second thing was the oppressive heat radiating from her left side. She peeled open her eyes one at a time, already annoyed, as she often was in the morning to be reminded that she was not at home in her comforting bedroom. And his room was not quite so dark as it had been the night before. Ondina's own bedroom was always dark, hanging blackout curtains and blinds, as she had little tolerance for blinding natural light while she rested. Apparently Aerick disagreed.
Rolling out of the large, marshmallow bed, Ondina rubbed at her eyes only to come away with black tipped fingers. She doubted her face had upheld through the night, and dreaded her own appearance as she looked around the room, surreptitiously checking on Aerick to ensure that he slept on. Perhaps she could slip out before he awoke. The fun had been had and Ondina wasn't the type to make instant attachments. Although she'd have to find the remnants of her clothes first. In desperation, Ondina grabbed a crumpled top sheet from the foot of the bed, wrapping it like a cape around her as she fled the bedroom.
Aerick's flat was just as lush in the daylight as it had been the night before. Far too lavish for a man on a bartenders budget. She suddenly wondered if he came from money, her curiosity rising as she gathered up her clothing from the living room down below the raised living quarters. It wasn't a particularly large flat, but it had a certain style to it that oozed wealth and Ondina admired it as she went in search for a bathroom. She found one rather easily, it wasn't a complicated layout.
In the mirror Ondina was faced by a restless nights worth of make up. Her foundation all but gone, leaving behind a pale and freckled face with bloodshot eyes. Her eyelashes knotted by lingering clumps of mascara and her lipstick was entirely gone. She rubbed at the permanent dark circles under her eyes before she bent her head in disgust. Rifling around in her little handbag, Ondina always had the essentials on hand. Concealer, lipstick and a smoothing solution she'd had specially made for her sensitive complexion. She applied it after scrubbing at her face with cold water. Nothing too extensive, just some concealer and smoothing solution to leave her looking somewhat lively. She left the lipstick for later.
Disgusted by the idea of wearing the same clothes as the night before, Ondina was pleased to find some workout attire folded neatly in the bathroom. It smelled fresh so she pulled it on, the jogging bottoms loose but acceptable once she rolled the waist and ankles up. The t-shirt was something of a disaster, but she found she liked how it swam around her shoulders once she'd knotted the hem around her waist. She did not wonder how Aerick would feel to find her in his clothing, because she did not care to stop and think about his feelings at all.
Ondina left the bathroom feeling somewhat human but deathly thirsty, she padded through his home to raid his fridge before she decided whether or not to leave. Perhaps a part of her wanted Aerick to find her, like an unwelcome pest. She thrived on making other people uncomfortable, putting them out for her own benefit. That probably had something to do with how touchy her siblings could be, but who was to know.
