The Quarantine that had cut off the British Isles from the rest of the world had reached every part of the continent. Nobody was fully safe from the still-unnamed ailment, and even the secret base of the Purifiers wasn't free from contamination. Elaine woke up with a startling cough, pressing a tissue to her mouth that came away with bloody phlegm. The authorities had told anyone suffering from symptoms to report immediately to a medical facility, but Elaine Dupree couldn't exactly walk into a hospital and not be immediately apprehended. Or worse.
Struggling to breathe, Elaine got up from her bed and rang the bell that led towards a servants corridor. As she heard labored breathing come close, Elaine knew it was desperate times, which called for desperate actions. She was not the only one infected after all...
Some time later, Elaine was bundled up, a veil over her face, with two other members of her entourage as body guards, and Apparated to a local hospital on the outskirts of a Scottish wizarding town. Perhaps here, so far away from the hustle and bustle from London, a lone nurse wouldn't recognize her. As they made their way to the hospital tours, a sudden shout came from within. Elaine's eyes widened as the commotion sounded closer and closer. With trembling hands, she took a sip of the potion she brought with her, a concoction that tasted foul but helped remember her purpose in life. As the doors burst open, an Auror of middling age stopped short. His eyes widened, and she knew he recognized her.
"Elaine Dupree! Arrest her!"
Elaine reached into her pocket for her wand, and was surprised to not find it on her. She swore when she had it when she left. "Sorry miss," one of the guards next to her mumbled, then turned to point his wand at her.
"Avada Kedavra!"
Betrayed by the guard, she had no time to protest as the green light and rushing sound of wings flapping pealed towards her. As her lifeless body collapsed to the ground, the guards Apparated away before the Auror could Stun them. He knelt to the ground, then looked up at his cohorts.
"Get me connected to the Floo Network directly to Minister Grangers office. Elaine Dupree is dead."
