▲ January 6th, 2026 Yrisle. While it was a tale used to scare druid children, records left behind by former High Druids and Council members said otherwise. Centuries passing didn’t mean much to the chosen few, and Fae had been calmed by the oldest of the Council when she was told of its truth soon after taking up her position. The possibility of it ever being her concern was seemingly out of the realm of possibility, though so had been the barrier surrounding Hy-Brasil falling. She did not like chalking events in life to bad luck or unfairness, but as of late it seemed like she was getting the short end of the bowtruckle. It had been two months exactly since her debacle with the barrier occurred, and her first thought was if the two were connected. Both were supposedly contained by magic incapable by modern druids or magic-kind and yet they fell within mere months of one another. Some of the druid folk simply blamed it on being the month of January. She wasn’t nearly that superstitious, though it was eerie that it occurred at the same time. The reappearance of Yrisle wasn’t directly her problem though; the Ministry made it clear immediately that they had jurisdiction over the island, even allowing their banks’ treasure hunters to go there first. Despite her protests that they didn’t know what they were dealing with, it took her two days of going through the Ministry’s liaisons before she could secure her own trip there. The Council was against her going, even voting on it, but they couldn’t stop her. She had failed to find a way to bring their own island’s barrier back, and now something from their worst bedtime stories had arrived. If, and that was a big if, there was any way to return balance to Hy-Brasil, she assumed that it would be on Yrisle. Fae was accompanied by two women from the Ministry, whom were apparently both associated with international crime issues, or something like that. She didn’t really understand what the importance of that was, or why they needed a whole group in the Ministry to deal with crime, but she was assured that the two going with her were capable. It was unfortunate that one of them kept her on edge – a werewolf. Unlike some of her kind, she didn’t adhere to blanket opinions on lycanthropes. She saw the way they treated Ava Wolfsired, and how her existence wasn’t indicative of who she was, so Fae took a few steps when it came to the Sarah character that was to be one of her guides. Still, she didn’t feel like it was wrong to be apprehensive of the woman. Not all werewolves or offspring of them were innocent like the girl she knew. Whatever her thoughts on the werewolf were, they were completely dashed the second she stepped foot on to Yrisle. She could feel it coming as they approached, though that was nothing compared to actually being on land. Describing it as a wave of nausea would be the closest she could narrow the overwhelming feeling down to. Everything in her being screamed that whatever this place was about, it was somewhere she shouldn’t be at all. If it hadn’t been for the stability from Merlin’s Staff, she felt that she would have been on the ground instantly. Strands of hair that fell over her face as she tried to hold herself up were rapidly changing in color, as her body couldn’t decide what it wanted to feel. The kaleidoscope effect alone was enough to make her dizzy, though that barely compared to the sear of magic everywhere around her. She did not like Yrisle already. “I am okay,” she managed to struggle out as her legs wavered unsteadily under her. “I only need a few moments to compose myself.” She couldn’t even think about how this looked to the outsiders, her mind preoccupied with getting her essence back in control. Surely she looked like a fool, being the High Druid and being incapable of stepping onto an island. The Council had warned her, after all. Now she knew the first thing she would be bringing back to them, so as to keep others away. MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

With hell freezing over in our eyes Gods kneel before our crime Ana was still fighting this strange headache that had been lingering since her first visit to the island on New Year's Eve. Some of the Ministry that had returned since then had only irritated her with their constant 'I haven't been here since last year!' Though a quick look from the youngest Karkaroff had been enough to make them walk away and leave her alone. She couldn't tell if this noise she kept hearing, this bell, or ringing was persistent or intermittent. The journey to the island was full of its own noises that blocked it out if it was a persistent effect. The fog that day, it had swirled around them when they'd investigated shipwrecks on that desolate beach, the one with the shimmering and crimson sand. Ana had not wanted to return, but the High Druid had wanted to visit this island--or whatever it was. Ana couldn't recall the last time she had interacted with a Druid, and she had never personally visited Hy-Brasil. Whispers around the office told her that Druids lived in other small settlements, but she supposed those must have just rumors. Ana looked at the woman she was escorting. She looked young though she couldn't pinpoint an age just by looking at her visually. Was she to believe that this young woman was a leader on Hy-Brasil? If it wasn't for the persistent pain in her head, she might have asked her more questions. To make her day even better, she had been partnered with Sarah again. Out of all the available Interpol agents, she wasn't sure why Ana kept getting stuck with her, and she made a mental note to speak to whoever was creating these assignments when she was back in London. They finally arrived on the island, and Ana was the first to step on the shores, the familiar chill rising up her spine, and she could feel the goosebumps on her arms along with the hair on the back of her neck stand up. Her jaw tensed as she forced herself to take a few steps forward, now was not the time to appear weak. Not in front of guests, let alone from a foreign government. She waited for the High Druid. She had said her name was Fae though she still didn't voluntarily offer any explanation for her need to visit yet. Sarah was supposed to follow behind Fae, and Ana was grateful for the distance. She was in more of a sour mood than usual, and Ana had to resist the urge to charm her into a semi-permanent silence. When Fae did step on the island, her entire being seemed to almost drop under an invisible weight, her hair shifted colors, and Ana moved forward if she did fall. "Are you okay?" Ana asked nervously, almost more if something happened to Fae on her watch--it wouldn't be good for her career. The woman leaned on the staff she had with her heavily. It was by far the most extreme reaction she had seen as it had varied individually--or so she had seen. Most would describe an eerie feeling the second their boots touched the red sand, and a few had said they didn't feel bothered, only nervous about exploring a new place.

January 6, 2026 Sarah wasn't sure if she could say that her first time arriving on the eerie red sand bay had been more interesting than the second, considering her present company. Although she had returned with Anastasia Karkaroff, which could have been more of a bore, their purpose there was to serve as chaperones of sorts for the current High Druid so that she could visit the place for herself. Why the Ministry hadn't offered any of Viktor Krum's bodyguards for the job was another question, but Sarah couldn't say no to learning more about the Druids from their leader. Interestingly enough, Fae was younger than Sarah had expected her to be, about the same age as she and Anastasia were. They would have seemed like old friends, perhaps, to anyone who wasn't the wiser, though she could tell that Fae wasn't completely comfortable with her. When they arrived, however, Fae's demeanor shifted considerably. No longer did she look like some sort of Druid fairy princess; she looked like she was barely able to stand, and she had to brace herself against the staff that she was using. Really, she looked like she was going to be sick, the colors of her hair changing rapidly. It wasn't seasickness, though; it was almost the reverse of that. Fae had been perfectly fine while they were out on the water. She was meant to be the one at the rear of the High Druid, with Anastasia Karkaroff leading their way in, though the last full moon had kept her feeling pretty miserable physically, too. It would have been so much easier not to deal with any of this, especially when she loved the feeling of being transformed and hated what it did to her body before and after. Anastasia jumped into action when she saw how severely Fae had reacted to being on the island, checking that she was alright. Visibly, though, it wasn't hard to see that she looked painfully ill, and even Sarah—for as much as she felt pretty awful—knew that she needed to assist Anastasia with Fae. She shot Anastasia a look, too, because the High Druid obviously wasn't well in spite of what she said about needing a few moments to compose herself. As quickly as she could and in spite of her own soreness, Sarah moved so that she and Anastasia could help to support Fae's weight if necessary. They couldn't let anything happen to her, because that would be on Magical Interpol and the Ministry. From what little Sarah knew of the Druids and their culture, she did know that there wasn't generally much trust there—and that was before the barrier that had protected Hy-Brasil had been broken. "Karkaroff," Sarah spoke tensely, eyeing Fae with caution, "before she faints." Whatever the usual protocols were around Druid leadership, they were going to have to break them if they wanted to keep their jobs. fae iona cloudbreaker anastasia marie karkaroff

▲ It was a magical sensory overload. She could explain it as that, considering the wild change in her hair and the overwhelming pressure feeling that was currently ripping through her body. This sort of experience had been described to her by first-time visitors to Hy-Brasil, due to the abundance of natural magic in the air. But this…Yrisle had that and something else. She knew the difference between magic that was welcoming and the sort that wasn’t. Everything about the shrouded island screamed the latter to her, and it was quite apparent that it didn’t want her hear almost as much as she was now realizing that she didn’t want to be there either. Almost like it was a mutual understanding that their two essences were not meant to cohabitate together. Merlin’s Staff was definitely her physical help, but she also felt like it had its own stake in the magical war that was raging between her and the island. Obviously its vested interest was to maintain the barrier back home, but it was also purposely assisting her here. To her, that meant she needed to keep going. With the way the Ministry employees reacted to both stepping foot on the island and to her sudden keeling over, it was clear that they weren’t effected in nearly the same manner that she had been. Whatever the reasoning behind that was, she figured it would reveal itself to her right away. Exploring and trying to understand what the island really was, more so than the scary children’s fables she grew up on and knew by heart now, would surely lead to a way to restore Hy-Brasil. “I said I am fine,” Fae repeated as she straightened up from her hunched over position, using the staff as a guide for how she was supposed to be standing. The ‘pressure’ still existed, but she was sure that she could handle it for a short amount of time. Maybe. “I did not expect the magic here to be so…overwhelming. Can the two of you not feel it?” she asked, looking between the two of them. Pushing her hair back from in front of her face, it was still rotating colors and didn’t seem like it was going to stop. Apparently there were some things she didn’t even know about her own ability or magic, because it had never done this before. Leaning slightly less on the staff, Fae started to slowly walk past the Ministry worker that was in front of her, heading further inland to see how much more she would be bothered by the oppressive nature of the island. with hell freezing over in our eyes gods kneel before our crime Ana had met metamorphmagus before, but she’d never seen a display like the one she saw before her now. Fae’s hair was rapidly changing color though it had only begun as soon as they had stepped on the island. It was a strange response and even worse than the ones she had seen from her colleagues on New Year’s Eve and the days after. But, if her experience thus far had taught her anything, it was that one needed an open mind when it came to this place. It wasn’t the ideal way to begin their mission of escorting a member of the Hy-Brasil leadership. Between Ana’s concern for the woman and concern for how quickly her career would disappear if anything were to happen to her, Ana moved toward Fae, but Fae insisted that she was okay. Rather than accept her and Sarah’s help, she used the staff to pull herself up, but Ana stayed nearby out of caution.
There was a strain in her voice, something about this island clearly affected her, but it was unclear precisely what. Ana made a mental note. She’d add it to the list of observations she would give to her brother and Ouroboros and also add it to the encounter with Astrid she still had to explain to him. Between her work with the group and with Interpol, she’d hardly had a moment to really stop and process it all. Fae asked them about the magic, and Ana paused to consider her response. She could claim that it didn’t affect her, but not even her most stoic expression could hide the unease in her eyes. This place seemed to make a joke of her Occlumency training. ”I wouldn’t describe it as ‘overwhelming’.” Ana responded, looking at Sarah to see how she would respond. Ana’s observation so far had been that she seemed perfectly fine, at least externally.
Fae began to walk. She caught up and stayed by her side if she had another episode of what had just occurred. Since her hair was still shifting colors, Ana figured that Fae was just pushing through whatever was affecting her—at least the trip here might be short considering that. Ana wondered if she would have to force the Druid off the island to avoid some kind of permanent effect. The sand crunched beneath their feet, and Ana finally spoke again. ”What do you expect to find here?” She knew why the Ministry, other countries, and Gringotts would be interested in this new island but the Druids? She hadn’t expected them to reach out.

January 6, 2026 Fae remained adamant that she was fine, though she neither sounded nor looked it. Sarah was glad that Anastasia Karkaroff was relatively attentive, even if her own attitude towards the Druid woman wasn't really one of genuine care. Fae was able to stand without either of their assistance, though she continued to use the staff that she had with her as an aid. "I did not expect the magic here to be so… overwhelming," the High Druid commented. "Can the two of you not feel it?"
Anastasia answered her first, and she said that she wouldn't describe it as "overwhelming". It was interesting to Sarah to hear her mention that, because she had thought that Anastasia's reaction to the island had been extreme.
When she saw that Anastasia was looking to her to give her input, Sarah paused, tying her hair into a ponytail. The sensation of being there was almost calming to her, in a strange way, though she hadn't been able to pinpoint why that was. There must have been something that was causing the High Druid's hair to cycle through colors like it was, though. That was more than just the feeling of déjà vu that she felt from being there. It wasn't painful or frightening; it was almost welcoming. "Yeah," Sarah agreed with Anastasia. "It's…" It was different. "Not a 'normal' feeling," she said, acknowledging that much, "but not 'overwhelming'."
For all of that, though, Fae was able to continue forward. Anastasia followed her, and Sarah was quick to ignore her own achiness to ensure that she was just behind them. "What do you expect to find here?" Anastasia asked Fae, which was a fair question. With as much as she was obviously struggling with just being on this island, it would have made sense for her to turn back and not keep going. Either that, or the High Druid was much more daring than Sarah thought.

▲ Whatever, or however rather, her body was reacting to this island was clearly not natural even on the magical spectrum. She knew her ability inside and out, and while it had been manifesting itself more often lately due to her level of stress with the issues on Hy-Brasil, it had never even come close to this before. She hadn’t even heard of a metamorphmagi being able to do this, even at a record pace. There were some that preferred full body changes and funny gaffs, and while her own tended to air on the side of changing her hair color, this was something else altogether. And the fact that the other two only came out with the fact that they felt slightly inconvenienced by the island’s presence at best deeply concerned the High Druid. Her people had no business coming to this place, especially if it was affecting her so much. At the same time, she needed a reason beyond her magical nerves going haywire. The staff, which also concerned her, hadn’t so much as budged on her, and neither had her wand. Only assisting in her standing in whatever war it was waging against the island. Which meant that their naturalness wasn’t nearly as bothered by whatever was going on here as her person was. At least not yet. She was half hoping that the staff would have some sort of reaction, leading to a possible fix to Hy-Brasil’s barrier, but that seemed impossible now. What this did confirm though, was that this absolutely had to be the island of Yrisle. She was fairly certain already that it was, based on the description and stories that had been coming out over the last week, but her own reaction to it all but confirmed it. Anastasia, the one that had been trying to assist her, asked what her what she was looking for here, causing Fae to let out a wavered sigh as she did her best to walk forward. “We have a story on Hy-Brasil about the island of Yrisle. You mainlanders would probably call it a ghost story…a way to scare our children into knowing the boundaries of our religion and magic. I fear that our stories may be more real than I suspected.” She hesitated to tell them all of it, though felt like maybe that sort of knowledge would only fall on deaf ears. It certainly had with most of her Ministry contacts. No one wanted to trust the person with potential ancient magical knowledge. “It would be best if no one was allowed to continue on this island. If it is Yrisle, then we all need to be prepared for whatever may come next. Especially if we cannot lock it away again.”MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

with hell freezing over in our eyes gods kneel before our crime The High Druid insisted that she didn’t need help instead of relying on her staff to hold her up. It made Ana uneasy, if only due to her status in the Druid community and in relations with the Ministry. She had to admit that she’d met relatively few druids. Really only one came to mind because he worked at St. Mungo’s and had assisted her at one point. But, she had never visited Hy-Brasil or had needed to for any reason. The bizarre reaction was noted in her mind now and only confirmed that the magic on this island was strange and uninviting. As if this was some bright and colorful warning for them to leave and leave it in peace. Sarah, however, hardly seemed interested, but that wasn’t a surprise to Ana. The fact that they had been paired together again was enough annoyance to focus on.
She pressed forward slowly, and Ana made sure to stay nearby, but not entirely in her personal space listening as the High Druid explained. Growing up in a magical family, she was used to the “ghost stories” that were told to children—especially Pureblood children regarding family and status and the stories told to everybody else. So it would make sense the druids had their own as well. While she hadn’t said a lot, she couldn’t help but glance at Sarah to see if she was listening to this as well. Of course, if Ana were to repeat this to just anyone at the Ministry, she might have gotten funny looks, but maybe it just spoke to how some stories passed down were rooted in fact. ”What do you mean again?” Ana asked for clarification. She hadn’t exactly explained the story in its entirety.
”I can’t exactly tell the Minister to stop traffic to this island based on a story.” Ana spoke, it was the truth after all, and she wasn’t about to make a fool of herself in front of Minister Krum. ”What else is here?” Information was needed for work, of course, but also, she was mentally taking notes to report back to her brother and Ouroboros. It might help them plan their next move, although she might hex her older brother if he suggested she ever step foot in this place again.

January 6, 2026
With the High Druid's appearance changing more quickly than a chameleon, Sarah knew that there was no way this was going to be anything like her initial trip to the island with Anastasia. At least she would get a good story or two out of it for the folks back at the Purifiers' base, she thought, not that she was hopefully that she would get much else—not at the rate that they were going, anyway. Having to babysit someone who was about her own age wasn't fantastic, but she tried to remind herself that it could have been worse. There were plenty of ways that could have been worse. Case in point, if she had ended up marooned on this place with Ares Lestrange, she was pretty positive that it would have ended in murder. There would be no murder this time, though Fae mentioned that there was an island called "Yrisle" that the Druids on Hy-Brasil told their children stories about in order to scare them into behaving. That didn't sound like a terrible tactic, Sarah thought, not that she had custody of her son, Sebastian, to try that one out for herself. "It would be best if no one was allowed to continue on this island," Fae added. "If it is Yrisle, then we all need to be prepared for whatever may come next. Especially if we cannot lock it away again." Sarah hated to tell Fae that islands couldn't exactly be locked up like a broom cupboard, but she would let her go on believing whatever helped her sleep at night. Even Karkaroff was skeptical of that point, though, which made Sarah feel better for having been so cynical. "I can't exactly tell the Minister to stop traffic to this island based on a story," she pointed out. "What else is here?" They didn't need to waste time on looking through shipwrecks again, Sarah thought, as she glanced around. She hoped that there was something good from the Druids' legends, maybe something with some added flair besides sand that was bright red. "'Your Isle' is, er, quite the holiday destination, isn't it?" Sarah commented. "Karkaroff and I didn't get to see much last time…" No thanks to that fog. fae iona cloudbreaker anastasia marie karkaroff

▲ Of course mainlanders wouldn’t understand. They never did. The Council had been fighting with them for decades about education and environmental conservation when it came to magical plants and animals. Hy-Brasil wasn’t supposed to be one of the last bastions of a magical ecosystem. All living things on the island deserved to be wherever their natural habitat was. Holding on to their last hope, protected by the druids, was not how things were supposed to be. People stepping onto Yrisle and exploring it was not supposed to be happening either. As well-meaning as Anastasia and the werewolf were, they simply did not understand the problems that could come from Yrisle spreading its influence. Fae didn’t even know, aside from the fact that it shouldn’t be allowed to attempt it. Maybe that was why her complaints were falling on deaf ears. It seemed like Anastasia had a similar notion, of how she couldn’t tell the Minister that either. “Respectfully, Minister Krum has failed on a number of levels already, no doubt due to his inability to properly run your government,” Fae countered back. “While I understand that no one wants to be thrown into a position such as his, and trust me, I know it well, he was elected your leader and therefore should listen to what we have to tell him.” Sitting back and twiddling their thumbs when it came to Yrisle was not going to get them anywhere. Sarah, the werewolf, then said that the two of them hadn’t been able to see much the last time they visited, and with Anastasia saying that she would need more to go off to convince the Minister, Fae decided that she had to give more information. “I truly hope neither of you have come across it, but our story includes a mist or fog that has the ability to warp and twist anything that it comes into contact with. This beach looks normal, considering,” she stated as she looked out onto the blood red sand beach that was circled this area of Yrisle. “I would not doubt that the further one goes inland, the stranger the plants and animals. This is because of the fog and the magic imbued into it by the island.” The fog in the stories had sentience, to a degree, and that was the main perpetrator of fear. She didn’t know if that was made up to scare children, should the island ever actually appear, or if it was real. So far she hadn’t seen anything like that. “My ancestors, in the story, were able to lock the island away using their magic. I am going to do that again, regardless of what the Ministry wants.”MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

with hell freezing over in our eyes gods kneel before our crime Ana gave a side glance to Sarah. This was far from any holiday destination she’d ever visited, and she wondered if this was the type of place one might picture in their mind when the Dementors got too close. But, Ana could hardly disagree with the High Druid’s assessment of their Minister. It was a common opinion, at least from the gossip she would overhear when she was in the office. There was no love lost between the High Druid and their government, but while Ana had little to do with the interactions with Hy-Brasil, it was just a well-known fact at this point. But, she remembered the late Minister and her directives and her assertiveness on issues. The Island would have been handled last week on her watch.
There was a part of her that froze for a split second at the mention of “fog,” and she tentatively looked at Sarah. Their last visit had been…well, it had not been comfortable by any means. The thought of being in an enclosed space as the shipwreck and that thick fog was the stuff of nightmares. ”…warp how? What do you mean?” Ana wanted to know more, for work purposes, of course. If this Island was dangerous and there was something roaming around that could affect more agents or Aurors, the Ministry needed to know. Plus, she’d seen the fog before when she was here with Astrid and seen what it had done. But Ana wondered how she and Sarah fit into that.
It was a bold statement to say. And truthfully, Ana did not know where to begin. They didn’t know exactly what kind of magic they were dealing with, let alone lock it away. "Do your stories have instructions, by chance?” The idea that Druid ghost stories could be real created many doubts within Ana. But, she was also less doubtful after all that she had seen and experienced in the past seven days.

January 6, 2026 Fae also wasn't particularly fond of Viktor Krum, from the way she spoke openly about him and his inability to govern, though Sarah didn't want to put herself in the position of obviously agreeing with her on that. She was there on this island on Ministry business and had her Interpol job because she had been deemed trustworthy enough to handle it. She didn't need to have it get back to them from the High Druid herself that Sarah Oliveira had been bad-mouthing Minister Krum, even if she did feel that he was something of a bumbling oaf.
Apart from politics, Fae began to tell them about how one of their stories dealt with a fog that didn't sound entirely unlike the one that she and Karkaroff had come across the first time that they had come there. Fae described it as being able to "warp or twist" whatever it came into contact with, and Sarah immediately pictured some sort of metal pipe or something twisted in on itself. That hadn't happened to her or Karkaroff, she thought, even if Karkaroff sounded more curious about what they were hearing from the High Druid.
"I would not doubt that the further one goes inland, the stranger the plants and animals. This is because of the fog and the magic imbued into it by the island," Fae continued, although Sarah assumed that she was only hazarding a guess based on whatever folktales they were telling over on Hy-Brasil. How much stranger could the plants and animals on the island be than some of the creatures that existed in the magical world already? She was a werewolf, for instance, and her transformations involved a kind of warping or twisting… Was that what Fae meant? Maybe there was some truth to it, considered Sarah, given how her reaction to the island had seemed so different to either of the other women's reactions.
Whatever was going on in Fae's head, she had clearly made up her mind about her next steps. "My ancestors, in the story, were able to lock the island away using their magic," she told them. "I am going to do that again, regardless of what the Ministry wants."
Sarah blinked. She didn't know how Fae was supposed to accomplish that, and she certainly didn't know what the High Druid—with two Interpol witches assisting her—expected them to do. They couldn't openly go against the Ministry of Magic, though she hadn't taken Fae for much of a rebel.
Karkaroff checked with Fae about whether the stories of which she spoke came with any instructions, and Sarah was just as curious to know what she had to say about it. It would be informative for her, at least as far as she would be able to understand Fae's thought process and what she hoped to accomplish. Nominally, she wanted to know more because of her work for Magical Interpol, but it remained in the back of her mind that knowing what Fae might do would be to the benefit of the Purifiers, too.

▲ Fae wasn’t paying enough attention to the other two to be able to tell if they found her comments skeptical. Her only goal here was to confirm that the island was indeed Yrisle, and then to provide her warning of it accordingly. It wouldn’t be new to her to have the Ministry scoffing at her claims and looking the other way so that they could continue with their own agenda. She had zero proof that there were warped creatures of unknown origin lurking within the equally mysterious and yet to be seen fog. All in due time though. Her gut (and her hair) told her this was Yrisle without a doubt and that it wasn’t going anywhere until she or someone else actively took a hard stance and forced it back to where it came from. Anastasia, rightfully so, was asking her what she meant about the changed animals, and Fae shrugged. If it were only that easy. “Even if I knew, I would not get close to anything this island makes. Especially the fog.” Hammering it home was all she could really do. Pretty soon here though, she was going to have to leave. The feeling of the island reaching out to her with its invisible tendrils was invasive, almost perverted in nature. It knew what she was and its curiosity was growing the longer she stayed on land. Staying here would only risk her safety and all of the Ministry employees that were now spread out across the island. There was no way that they stuck to their own rules when there was probably an endless amount of research to be done here. Despite what some of the higher officials thought of her, she wasn’t ignorant of the things that they did to both benefit themselves at the expense of their government. That exact reason was why she knew she needed to treat the Council with more respect, because they only served at the behest of the gods. “No. If there were, I would have dealt with this already,” she said rather confidently, the waver in her voice coming from the fact that she could feel another rotation of her hair color about to come on. The energy the island had been giving out the entire time, the one that pulsed and surged her metamorphmagus ability and was constantly trying to take hold of her, clearly didn’t like her attack. The nerves in her fingers and toes tingled as it came back again, and she knew her hair was going through its rainbow again. The same feeling she had been getting since her arrival was the culprit once again. “I do not want to stay here any longer,” Fae quickly stated as she turned on her heels and forced her feet to move her back towards the boat. Merlin’s staff was a great walking stick, but she hated relying on such a powerful conduit as a crutch. MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

with hell freezing over in our eyes gods kneel before our crime Ana always considered herself intelligent, but this Island and everything about it was not something she could comprehend. She still hadn’t had a chance to speak to her brother about it—but she had a feeling even he might be stumped by the mysteries here. Their combined experience didn’t seem to fit what was needed to meet the challenges here. Again Fae warned against venturing further into the Island and again with the fog. The mention sent a small chill up her spine, and she resisted the urge to look at Sarah, remembering what they had experienced that New Year’s Eve.
Still, Ana could tell Fae was struggling. Doing what they all did in putting on that brave face and not showing weakness. The way the Island’s magic had affected her was incredible, for lack of a better word. But before Ana could ask another question, Fae turned and declared she wished to leave. While the High Druid’s back was turned, Ana gave Sarah a look via side-eye. It wasn’t exactly the work she’d signed up for in Interpol, but she supposed it did fit her job description to ensure the protection of foreign dignitaries. At least they could agree that one should not spend more time than was needed here. ”I can recommend to the Minister, again, that we should control the Island’s perimiter. I agree it isn’t safe here.” The Fog, the creatures. Ana had seen so much in so little time and hardly had a chance to digest it. Though she did feel better as they neared the boat.

January 6, 2026 Sarah was pretty certain that she had taken longer trips to the toilet while avoiding having to do actual work than she had spent back on Yrisle. So much for getting beyond that red sand beach and reporting that information back to Elaine, she thought. Regardless, whatever the fairy Druid princess wanted, she got, so when she said that she didn't want to be there anymore (and Karkaroff backed her up), Sarah knew that that was that. They were going to have to turn around and leave again.
Fae had already turned to walk back to the boat, and Karkaroff's sideways glance prompted Sarah to turn back around, too. Even if Fae had managed to cover some distance, it wasn't hard to spot her hair going through its cycle of colors again anyway. She wouldn't have lost track of her. Losing the High Druid on assignment wouldn't be good, though, and Sarah wordlessly offered out her arm to assist her again. The trip hadn't turned out at all liked she'd hoped, so she was feeling a little bitter about it. Maybe something would emerge from the sea as they were leaving or something and make it worth it.
