Though she knew that Hy-Brasil got considerable benefits from remaining open to tourism, Sadhbh didn't feel completely comfortable with the idea of allowing so many more Hogwarts students to visit the island than came to visit in a typical year. Not only that, the students who came ordinarily were those who were already studying Herbology and Care of Magical Creatures at NEWT level. They were older and generally respectful of the fact that they were on territory that wasn't theirs. Sadhbh didn't feel so confident that all of the Hogwarts students who were coming would feel the same way. Supposedly, the decision to allow so many teenagers to come to Hy-Brasil was because of the damage that had been done to the barrier that protected the island. While Sadhbh hesitated to call that exploitative, she knew that the best thing to do would be to go to the Forest Shrines with an offering of wine for the gods on the morning when the students were due to arrive.
Imbolc might have passed, but it was meant to be a joyous season as a whole for her community. It was difficult not to feel fearful of what might happen as a result of having so many more outsiders there, however, and Sadhbh felt a sense of relief wash over her as she approached the shrines. The gods, she hoped, would look favorably upon her offering and protect them from any additional devastation. She said a prayer in Brasilic, presenting the wine to the gods as was customary. As always, she was careful to do everything just right. In her mind, it was better that way, and it kept the gods as happy as possible.
As she finished up the ritual, Sadhbh smiled a little bit. Despite her worries, she had to put her trust in the gods. If everything went well, she thought, then the students would come away from their weekend trip to Hy-Brasil with a better knowledge of the island and the culture of its people, and that was all she could truly ask.
OOC: OPEN!
