▲ Dahlia didn't really wait to hear an answer from the girls behind them before stepping into place. As far as she was concerned, that was her spot and she had waited there just as long as everyone else had. Now she was simply reclaiming her position. Plus they had Rhys with him, and she liked to think together they could be scary if they wanted to. Flash their werewolf scars or something at the same time. Even though things were easier now when it came to being a lycanthrope, there were still some folks that disliked it. Not like she had chosen this life for herself. Most people would probably agree with her that their mutual father was a piece of shit too, so they had all of that in agreement. But she also wasn't going to let a couple of little girls get mad at her when they seemed to be fine only five minutes earlier. The fact that Max was acquainted with the one helped ease her own tension, but she could sense the daggers that the non-hair changing sister was sending her way. Probably hoping that the more people that got fed up and left, the quicker this thing would go. ”You two know what you want? That way if a table opens when we get close, we don't all need to be here.”@tag ● XXX ● song by artist MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

Just a rhyme without a reason Never-ending maze drift on numbered days April 18, 2026 Max greeted the blonde girl, their sisters also looked at them a little suspiciously but didn’t say anything. It was awkward smiles all around. ”Yea—thanks…i’m Rhys, Max’s older brother. This is our sister, Dahlia.” He explained, maybe since they were siblings they would understand. Either way, there were definitely glares all around but nobody saying anything. The one who’s hair changed color kept leering at Rhys, glaring actually until she stopped and resumed a conversation with the other sister. He couldn’t tell if they were glaring because they were cutting in line (technically) or because more Greybacks were in the vicinity. Not everyone was so welcoming to werewolves, let alone Greybacks.
Still, Rhys didn’t mind them. Nobody was saying anything and nobody was giving them trouble, so there was no need to puff his chest out—so to speak. The only thing that was close enough to trigger his anger was how hungry he was. Dahlia asked what they wanted, and made a good suggestion. ”Um—the one that was all meat. I can’t remember the name.” Rhys checked his jacket pockets for his menu, he’d probably dropped it somewhere. That wasn’t helping his mood. ”And a firewhiskey.” He added. As he was looking at the floor to see if he’d dropped it nearby he noted a table in the far corner, their pizza’s were almost done. Rhys glanced at Dahlia and Max and then let his eyes linger on that table so they could see it, but he’d rather not announce it to the groups around them.

You know it's all a gamble when it's just a game April 18, 2026 ”Sorry—pardon me. Just trying to—sorry—get through.” Finally Archie appeared on the other side of a group of non-students. The list in his hand was wrinkled and was beginning to tear near the corner. It might have been smart to charm this so it would better survive the destruction of such a crowd next time. His task at the moment was to go down this list and make sure all the students who had signed up were actually here. Not that it was that big of an issue, a student might have chosen to stay behind at the castle but it was more students who had earned limited or no privileges this weekend using this event as a ruse to just escape the castle.
He had already started at the beginning of the line and worked his way down, but then there had been a large group and that was the small journey he had just taken. Fortunately, the interior was charmed so that they would overheat between the ovens and the amount of bodies in here. Archie approached the next student he saw, Maxima Greyback—who was not in his class but one became acquainted with most students anyway. ”Ms. Greyback, lovely to see you.” He tapped his wand on the list and a line was drawn across her name. And then his eyes shifted to the two standing next to her, who were both looking at him. ”Erm—and your friends?” It wasn’t a first, it appeared that many had taken the opportunity to get together with family or friends. He’d seen the Potters further back in line but he hadn’t gotten that far yet on his list.

April 18, 2026 Dahlia asked them what they wanted to eat, just in case a table happened to open up while they were standing there. Max didn't want to have to jump in and out of the queue any more than was necessary, but she figured that Dahlia probably had the right idea.
Rhys mentioned that he wanted the pizza that had all the meat on it plus a firewhisky, though that wasn't entirely a surprise, and Max paused for a second before giving her own response.
"Er…" she considered, "I'll have The Unforgivable Cheeses and a bottle of water." All of the names of the pizzas sounded so ridiculous when spoken aloud, but both the toppings—or lack thereof—and the name were on the less… creative side.
As Professor Vector made his way past countless people, Max felt a little bit bad for him and the rest of the school's staff members who were responsible for ensuring that all of the students were where they needed to be. It wasn't long before he approached her, seemingly confused about who Rhys and Dahlia were, hesitantly calling them her "friends".
"Thank you, and they're my half-siblings, sir," Max corrected him as politely as she could, only tacking on the "half-" part because she knew that the three of them didn't look related at a glance. "I should be on the list," she added. She didn't think that it had been organized alphabetically, though.

▲ Firewhiskey and the all meat pizza for Rhys, and the Unforgivable Cheeses and a water for Max. That was easy enough. Dahlia fished through her pockets and pulled a pen out, scribbling down the shortest of short-hand that she could onto her palm. This sort of thing had become a force of habit since she started her training, always forgetting notepads for her jobs. There was almost always a reason to have to write something down, and there were often trips where her arms were covered in notes that barely made sense when she looked at them hours later. Not to mention the fact that trapezing through damp, humid tunnels and catacombs caused the ink to get runny. She had eaten the ‘Paradise Pizza City’ last month, so switching it up today wasn’t a bad idea. Plus something that was easy to make since apparently they had to do that themselves. A menu that had been shoved into her back pocket was also pulled out as she gave it a once over again, deciding on the ‘Master of Pizza’. That looked easy enough that she could probably just throw all the ingredients on at once and get it done. While writing down her own choice on her hand, she heard someone passing by say hello to Max, causing her to look up. A professor maybe? He had a list in his hand and was asking Max if they were her friends, which was correctly corrected about who they really were. “Are we not supposed to be here, Max?” Dahlia was confused. She hadn’t been aware that there was a sign-up thing for the event. Figuring that out now would save all of their stomachs in the long run. @tag ● XXX ● song by artist MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

You know it's all a gamble when it's just a game April 18, 2026 Archie nodded. Of course, it had slipped his mind that there were more Greybacks than the ones that had just graduated during his tenure. It explained why he hadn’t immediately recognized them. ”Oh, very nice to meet you both. Archie Vector, Arithmancy Professor.” The older half-brother and sister both had the same pair of striking blue eyes and serious look on their face. Max’s sister questioned whether she was allowed here and Archie realized what his list might imply. ”Of course you are! I’m just checking and make sure the students are where they are supposed to be.” He gave her a friendly smile trying to reassure her.
The line moved slightly and he took a step with the Greybacks in the direction of the counter. Behind them he spotted familiar faces. One of the Bainbridge triplets and her older sisters, who Archie had come through his classroom. Now, which Bainbridge triplet that was? Well he would decide with name to guess when he moved on to them.

April 18, 2026 Professor Vector explained what he was doing when Dahlia questioned if perhaps they weren't supposed to be at the pizza parlor if they weren't Hogwarts students. It might have been the type of thing that most adults probably weren't that interested in doing, Max thought, but there was no rule against it. It was the Blishwicks' business, and even Hogwarts had occasional events for the general public.
Still, wanting to make sure that Dahlia didn't doubt that she and Rhys were welcome, Max added in clarification, "The list is just for the students. Not this event." It was just an additional measure, along with the permission slips that they had to have signed by a parent or guardian in order to go into the village as it was. She would have said that the list was also a crowd-control measure, but that didn't seem to be the case in actuality. "It's mostly a safety thing," she said, even though she was technically an adult.

April 18, 2026 Penelope hadn't minded holding someone's spot ahead of her in the queue, though she also found it difficult to say no. It wasn't as though she and her sisters were being set back any more than they already were, and she had already apologized profusely—multiple times, in fact—because she had thought that this would be fun and sort of relaxing and not filled with half the school. That weird sensation that had been plaguing her ever since she had turned seventeen still filled her head, especially in the midst of such a large crowd, but she didn't want Diana or Cara to get angry with her if she were to suggest that perhaps they could go to the Three Broomsticks instead.
Seeing Professor Vector taking attendance just ahead, Penelope prepared herself for the man to approach. She had checked multiple times to make sure that she had signed up properly, so at least she knew that she would have no issues there. It would have been even worse if she hadn't been on the list, but what if she had ended up getting left off of it?

▲ The combined explanation from both the professor and Max helped her realize that she had been thinking correctly the entire time. Even though she was confident in her understanding of British customs and the language, there were still times where she felt a tiny bit lost. Situations like this, where there was a ton of stuff going on all at once with hundreds of simultaneous moving pieces. Every single student in the building was probably on the list that Professor Vector had in his hands, and she didn’t envy his job at all. “That was my misunderstanding. Désolé professor…” Her slip into French the second time in as many minutes. Usually she was pretty good about keeping everything in line, but today seemed to be testing that. Max gave further explanation on the safety procedures and why that had to be done, and Dahlia nodded her head that she understood. With everything that had been going over the last few years, she didn’t blame Hogwarts for trying to be a little more careful with big events like this. A glance around the room they were in revealed dozens of adults, most of whom she assumed were aurors or other sort of security provided by the Ministry. Despite being more open than any of the tombs she had been in, warm bodies cramped together was really not her thing. She liked them dead and dusty, and only two wizened warlocks she had seen so far fit that description. @tag ● XXX ● song by artist MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

▲ Merlin it was strange to be standing with Diana and Penelope in line for pizza like it was a completely normal thing. Cara had been playing the part all morning so far, and it was almost as if they had all stepped back in time by a couple of years. Her twin looked almost the same as she always had, just with the addition of a bunch of tattoos. She didn’t know if they were real or part of her metamorphmagus powers, though considering her recent relationship with Calliope, who had the same powers, she had spent her entire life around one at some point or another and was constantly learning about new things they could do. A few minutes earlier, the woman that had been standing in line in front of them had poked Penelope and asked if they (as one collective Bainbridge family again) could maintain her spot while she found her own family. Cara really didn’t care one way or another, but the entire time the woman was gone, she had her arms crossed impatiently and her foot was tapping aggressively. She had a feeling this was going to be like a Weasley or a Weekly type of deal, where suddenly there were a dozen people in front of them. If that ended up being the case, she was going to raise hell about it. Large groups like that were always causing disruptions at the ice cream parlor, and she wasn’t going to have any of it on her day off. The woman eventually returned with two others, and that sent a wave of relief over her. As long as they didn’t do that again and dragged more people in, she could deal with it. “Isn’t that Professor Vector?” she whispered to Penelope, who seemed to have noticed him too. It was sort of ironic that they had the Arithmancy professor counting students on a list. Probably the best way to get an accurate count though. @tag ● ### ● Song by Artist MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

You know it's all a gamble when it's just a game April 18, 2026 Archie watched tentatively as Max explained to her sister that all were welcome and that the list was merely a precaution. It was correct, which is why there had been that scramble at the beginning with Charlie and Parvati and who had the list. Luckily Blaise had brought it down, noting the importance. Even though students were given quite a bit of freedom during these weekends, it didn’t mean they had forgotten the events of the years before. The accent was French, however, and it only brought questions to Archie’s mind but he kept them to himself. In a way he understood, it was much like his own family--full of half-siblings by a rather disastrous father.
With that Archie excused himself and moved on to the next group behind the Greybacks. ”Ms. Bainbridge.” Archie greeted the blonde, ”I assume your sisters are nearby?” If Archie had to guess it was Penelope, Peyton had a different disposition typically. Again he tapped his wand on the paper and names were crossed out. ”Nice to see you Cara, Diana.” The twins had been in his course, though they hadn’t achieved the same marks as Peyton. Cara had been an average student (which is all he could ever ask of his seventh years) and Diana had been inconsistent in her last couple of years. Her appearance caught him off guard, though her hair was doing the shifting that he’d seen while she’d been a student.

April 18, 2026 "Isn't that Professor Vector?" Cara whispered to her about the professor as he approached them.
Penelope nodded. Seeing Professor Vector nearing them, though, she didn't want to whisper back to her, lest the professor think that they were gossiping about him.
He addressed her first as "Miss Bainbridge" and asked her if her sisters were around—sort of funny, considering that she, Cara, and Diana were all three Bainbridges and very much sisters—though Penelope assumed that he meant Peyton and Persephone, more specifically.
"I-I'm only here with Cara and Diana, Professor Vector," Penelope explained. She wouldn't have been surprised but didn't know offhand if Peyton and Persephone had chosen to show up to the event or not. That probably wasn't much of a help to him, though, since it looked to be that he was solely responsible for ensuring that everyone was where they needed to be. "I… don't know. Sorry," she continued, trying to look around for him to see if they were, in fact, there.

▲ Cara supposed that it was probably strange to see the triplets absent from their counterparts to non-family members. People seemed to forget that they were all individuals at the end of the day, and while it was cute when they were little, being dressed up identical to one another and laughed at when one was confused for another, it got old real fast. To the point where now she hated hearing other people say it about multiple siblings even outside of the Bainbridges. Hogwarts had a plethora of duplicates and triplets floating about, and they eventually drifted into Diagon Alley once they graduated. She loathed being called ‘Diana’s twin’, not because she disliked her sister that much, but because it completely stripped her of any sense of autonomy. At least Diana could change herself to look different if she wanted to. “Long time no see, Professor,” Cara stated, listening to Penelope scramble when it came to the question about the other two. “Persephone is with our brother Dustin. I’m not sure if you remember him? He plays professional Quidditch now, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they got caught by fans asking for autographs.” Or they had found the table as planned. As for Peyton, Cara had no idea. She thought the last triplet would show up, but if she was busy, she was busy. It wasn’t like the pizza was going anywhere if she missed out on it. Knowing Blishwick, there would be another dozen of these types of events before the end of the spring term. @tag ● ### ● Song by Artist MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

You know it's all a gamble when it's just a game April 18, 2026 Archie glanced between the sisters, his own family had a set of twins and triplets as well. It seemed common in some magical families to either have twins and triplets or just have a lot of children. Some had both. Dustin was the only boy, if he recalled correctly, in this particular family but it had been sometime since he had seen him. ”Yes, I recall Mr. Bainbridge sleeping in my class.” He said with a slight grin, there was always one or two students. Either they were bored because the subject was easy for them or they were just bored. Either way, none of the Bainbridges had ever stuck him as ‘bad kids’ per say and Dustin had just been more interested in Quidditch.
When Archie had first started teaching he’d been amazed by how many names he began to recognize when he would read the sports section of the Prophet. Former students who had taken his class or just students he recognized, well as long as they were doing what they loved he supposed. Sometimes he wondered what might have been if he had played professional Quidditch instead of working for Gringotts but he felt he was where he was supposed to be and no matter how he went about it, the numbers didn’t lie. ”Well, I have to check the rest of this list--enjoy your lunch.” And he walked forward to the next student he recognized in line.

are you ready for this? Are you hanging on the edge of your seat? April 18, 2026 Diana finally uncrossed her arms, shifting in place to a more comfortable standing position. When the girl in front of them had asked to hold her place she’d been tempted to tell her off, but Penelope had agreed, so she stayed quiet. And then she came back with siblings and a classmate of her sister’s, so far nobody Diana recognized. But, after the whirlwind of the past year and a half there was much she needed to catch up on. The crowds didn’t bother her as much as they might have when she was younger and truthfully she was glad to be here. There was a softening to her demeanor and it was more relaxed than she’d felt since they’d graduated. When she and Cara had graduated and she’d immediately been summoned by Elaine she had been forced to give up hope of such a family reunion--but she was here.
Dustin and Persephone were hopefully holding a table and her hair shifted to a dark blonde--much like Cara’s to help blend in. Somewhere along the line she had seen Sarah, her blue hair a dead giveaway and if she wasn’t mistaken Burke was lurking as he always did: like a vulture. If there was ever a man she wished she could curse it was him. And then they were approached by a former Professor. Professor Vector was the Arithmancy professor and had been one of the more relaxed professors she’d run into. During their seventh year he’d asked if she was doing alright, noting that her focus was as low as her grades when typically it was an inverse relationship. ”Hello, Professor.” Diana grinned, he’d always been very nice to her.
There was a pause when he left and Diana looked around a bit, trying to see if she could spot her brother. ”Do you see him? I wonder if he actually found a table.” Or was he really being mobbed by adoring fans? She stopped after a moment, looking back at her twin. They certainly were distinguishable now with the tattoos that Diana had collected, but there was a wholesome feeling still. ”Pen, doesn’t one of your friends play Quidditch? Did you tell them Dustin was here?” Perhaps they would like to meet him if that was the career they had in mind. Though truth be told she couldn’t remember which friend was the one that played or if there was one at all. The forced occlumency training had left some of the small details of some school days a bit fuzzy but she did remember her sister had a group she was always with.
